  1. My friend wore a Slash shirt when we went to the 2010 shows without a problem. We we first in line as well.

I don't think it has anything to do with Axl. The promoters just don't want trouble or something like that.

I´ve even seen guys dressed like slash with the top hat and all and nothing happened. These "no slash t-shirt" claims are plain stupid and ridiculous and I´m sure Axl doesn´t give a fuck about the fans clothes, I´m sure he´s more interested in playing a kick ass show.

I don´t understand who starts these stupid claims and why but it´s obvious they don´t come from the band.

  2. Guys there´s no need to badmouth this shark island guy. He might be resentful but it´s up to him. We all are influenced in one way or another by the bands and singers we admire and sometimes they are copied. Everybody does that. For exemple, back in the day (UYI years) Axl was wearing the bandana as part of his outfit and a lot of people started wearing a bandana because of him. And the same happens in the fashion industry, people copy or are inspired by each other and outits from past decades are copied again and developed and adapted to the current times. It´s no big deal.

  3. Everyone experiences heartbreak, rejection, and the death of loved ones at some points in their life. This is hardly exclusive to Axl.

Tragic experiences are all relative and hardly similar, identical or measurable.

We all experience loss in some ways, but most people don't use it as a crutch or an excuse to blame for their own personal flaws.

Has Axl been quoted as using personal loss as an excuse to blame others? Please share.

I agree. It never ceases to amaze me the ability of some posters here who dare talk as if they knew what´s in Axl´s head and find an explanation for everything even when the man didn´t say a word about the issue ( I´m talking in general ).

  4. Funny. I've seen White get bashed in this forum way more than praised.

I call this the mickey rouke effect.

Now that we know Axl likes Jack, there will be 74 posts from people saying how much they have always admired and respected him.(even if they bashed him three months ago).

Hahahah I agree. Your post reminds me of a few years ago when Axl acted as a presenter in the MTV awards and he was backstage and made all people to be quiet so that he could listen to Christina Aguilera´s performance. And all of a sudden people (who usually mocked her ) started praising her just because Axl liked her voice lol. Some people are ridiculous!

  5. I think if he and the band try to get the album out this year, which I believe is their hope based on Richard's comments, I don't think it will be to make up for the HOF induction ceremony. I don't think they're related.

    Ali

I disagree. The HOF debacle will be a huge motivating factor for Axl to get CD II released.

    Excuse me?

The HOF is relevant ONLY in USA, no one gives a shit about it in the rest of the world.

Pretty sure Axl's only communication to the outside world is what Beta and her family show him and this forum and HTGTH. So really, from his perspective, the feedback has been pretty even I'm sure. It's just too bad this forum represents such a small number of people. It's upsetting how bad Beta is for Axl. I had my thoughts all along but the Marc Canter interview just goes to show what we thought is true. She perpetuates his hate specifically for Slash, she keeps him bitter, she prevents him from moving forward, she gives him the illusion he's in the right and is in fact moving forward.... It's hard to hate on Axl for all this in a way because he's basically institutionalized and I don't think I would cope much better in his shoes, for example.

Oh spare us the melodramatic bullshit. Barf. I swear, some people are just drama queens for no reason (no offense). Axl is much more in touch with reality, than say, you are. Hate to break it to ya. What you and your ilk don't understand is that Axl operates with intent. He knows what he's doing. It doesn't have anything to do with Beta, she's just his support system. Ultimately, HE makes the decisions regarding his decisions. He isn't some sheltered shut-in as you and others try to portray him as.

Exactly. I don´t understand why people think that Axl lives in a bubble with no contact with reality and I don´t understand why they portray him as a person who is easy to manipulate either. If there is something that is well known about Axl is that he does what he wants when he wants and the way he wants no matter what others say.

  6. Showing up to Axl's show in 2001 was such a cupcake move by slash, fucking hilarious.

I don´t think it was a cupcake move, it was more a matter of curiosity imo, but what do I know?

  7. I don't see why Slash hasn't apologized or at least offered support to new GNR like Duff or Izzy has.

He showed up guitar-in-hand to the HOB show in late 2001 and was not allowed entry. Not sure what his intentions were. Not to mention he showed up at Axl's place in Malibu in 2005. He only spoke with Beta, and the details are very sketchy. :shrugs:

Where was it ever reported that he was there "guitar in hand"? Everything I ever read or heard about it just said he tried to get in to watch the show.

Exactly, from what I remember from back in the day, Slash just wanted to attend the show to see the new GNR but the "then" manager Doug Goldstein didn´t allow him to be there because he thought it wasn´t a good idea and that Axl wouldn´t like it. But as usual, people managed to blame Axl for this incident, and the curious of it was that he had no idea Slash was there and he found out later.

By the way, good read, and it´s good to have Marc Canter around

  8. I miss the days when our heads had created a kind of mythic persona about axl during his silent days before he was on twitter post chinese democracy release. Im so glad i saw the band in 2006.

If he was silent you would probably miss the days when he used to talk and tweet

    Exactly.

I remember when people used to complain and say that Axl should grow a beard and when he appeared with the goatee a lot of people complained as well  . Who understands these people lol?

  9. Man, Axl sure is delusional if he thinks the support out weighed the negativity!

That's what I thought. Axl was mentioned very little. Any mention of Axl was met by boo's from the audience.

    I didn't detect any support, bar Green Day lead singer calling fir hush to the boo'ing. Even they joked ' y o u ' r e f u c k i n g c r a z y ' jokingly.

The HOB outside the USA is not so important and the fact that some prefer to focus and highlight the negative responses doesn´t mean the man didn´t receive any support. There is a whole world outside the internet, you know.

Why continue with this shit? It´s not the end of the world and if people booed him and bashed him for his decission of not attending shows nothing more than their intolerance. What if it had been Slash who had decided not to show up and not to be inducted? Would you guys be flooding the internet like you do and making a drama?

If they were to look at things realistically, and shake off the mob mentality there were two other members who elected not to attend.

According to their mob mentality Izzy waited until last minute to know whether Axl was going and since Axl didn´t attend, he didn´t attend either. And as for Dizzy, he didn´t show up because Axl "didn´t allow" him to...so go figure

  11. I have to say, the shockingly dismissive tone with which some posters have discussed child abuse in this thread is sickening. Such people have already made it amply clear that they dislike DJ. But to turn this thread into a hate-fest about a "hired hand" shows the ridiculous levels to which hate can be taken, to the point that you cant even remember that the person you're talking about is, at the end of the day, just a human being like you. Not everything is a death match between the old and new line-ups and you don't need to be everyone's beloved star to have a story that can uplift people, if only for a minute.

DJ doesnt have to be my "friend" for me to see that its a messed up situation for a child to feel mortally afraid of his own father. I think its fantastic that he has turned out such a positive person. Children who have experienced abuse are statistically more likely to suffer long term health problems and social adjustment issues and they often get locked into self-destructive patterns in life. DJ is a positive story of somebody who didnt let his scars drag him down. I dont understand how that can be spat upon.

Best reply ever. But unfortunately I am not surprised at people´s reactions here :(

  12. Lame attempt at damage control from the "camp" and proof positive that they keep Axl in a bubble of misinformative. At least I hope it is that because otherwise it only confirms that he has lost his fuckin marbles. His own facebook page should be enough for him to gauge the vicious backlash against his decision

This letter was addressed to Guns N' Roses fans, not whiny cunts and ranting hair metal past-dwellers desperate for 1987 to come back. The majority of Guns N' Roses fans - and by that I mean fans of Guns in the present - were overwhelmingly supportive of Axl's decision.

Well said dude. Most people tend to forget that there is a whole world outside mygnr and the internet. Axl is not stupid and he knows that no matter what he does (right or wrong) he´s going to be bashed, it´s been like this since day one and some people are never happy. And this letter is to thank for the support not to thank the haters and the daily bashers.

Two letters from the man who is said not to care about his fans in less than a week! hmmm...not bad, is it? <_<

  13. Hey Axl, wake up!! you destroyed Guns, your current band is not Guns, stop using the name for your own secret purposes, stop all your anger and hate, forgive you and forgive the past. God bless GNR: Axl, Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steve.

Axl, Wake up! it is NOT time to die!!

Hey dude, wake up!!! You have no idea of what happened among those guys so don´t point your finger at anyone, his current band IS GNR and as a founder and lead singer and soul of the band he has all the rights in this world to use the name of the band THAT HE NEVER QUIT.

  14. Go to a GnR concert. Axl poors his heart out into giving you the best 3hours of your life.

Yes, not bad for a dude who "doesn´t care about the fans"... <_<

I´ve said it a million times and I´ll say it again. Just because Axl Rose doesn´t play your rules doesn´t mean he doesn´t care about the fans. And if you expect him to do what you want and the way you want, you clearly know nothing of GNR.

  15. The more I read the less I understand you people. Most of you are behaving like a bunch of spoiled children whose parents refused to give them some candy.

And seriously, all this hate towards a person you don´t even know, a person who has done nothing to you, a person whose actions don´t affect your life is plain laughable. I understand that a lot of people can feel disappointed because Axl will not attend the induction or because the reunion with the old line up will not take place but seriously, all the insults, the hatred and the cruelty showed towards Axl by the fans has reached a point that cannnot even be labelled as ridiculous because that word is not enough to describe all this backlash.
