‎..what a rare photo. Axl playing guitar on 'Maddy"live in Rio 2001, He wrote all the gtr parts, including lead gtr. I recorded him playing lots of awesome guitar parts back then, I don't think people know what an original and cool guitar player he really is,....those were fun times.

Also, Buckethead and Paul Tobias are truly awesome

I used to have that video in my old computer long ago, unfortunately I lost it :(

  2. The shows last 3 hours so I guess it is impossible for a singer to sing perfect during the three hours. Maybe Axl controls his voice in order to dose it throughout all the show. I don´t know, I´m not a singer and I have no idea of singing skills, this is just what I think.

  3. I think GN’R should perhaps contact a more prolific, competent franchise rather than give up the ambition. This is like purchasing the Tyson/Lewis Box Office package and getting the replays that air post-fight.

Ambition has nothing to do with all this imo (if you mean band´s ambition, now if you mean iclips that´s a different story). GNR thought of the fans worldwide and that is probably why they arranged all this stuff. If iclips failed to deliver then it´s their fault not GNR´s.

From what I have read, a lot of people were complaining because they paid for shows they weren´t able to watch, also, the free interview with the band didn´t work either. Other people watched the shows but with cuts and others watched it but the sound was after or behind the images.

  4. Eddie Vedder was a better songwriter and a better man than Kurt Cobain.

Agreed. I have so much respect for Eddie and Pearl Jam as a whole

Not that big of a fan of Eddie Vedder as a person, but IMO Pearl Jam is the best band to come out of the grunge scene by a mile.

I agree. There were a lot of good bands in that era but they didn´t get the amount of attention/recognition that Nirvana got.

Nirvana and especially Kurt were way too overrated. I remember when I was a teen, almost everybody at high school was a grunge fan and Kurt was considered cool while Axl was considered an asshole and depending on which of them you followed you got to be judged as a cool person (Kurt represented disobedience, rejection, disgust for certain aspects of society...etc) or an asshole (Axl was considered an asshole, bad tempered and spoiled with all the r´n´r life style). Needless to say GNR and Axl always were my number one choice.

I liked Nirvana back in the day but I think that it was Kurt´s suicide what really made them this "mythical" and big and that´s why they got that icon status. It always happens when someone dies. Look at Amy Whinehouse for exemple, when she was alive she was considered to be very good in her genre but she was bashed and mocked for being a junkie and an alcoholic. Once she died, people elevated her to the "myth" status and over rated her way more than when she was alive.

By the way, on a side note, I´ve seen the pics of Kurt´s daughter someone posted and she is very beautiful but she looks like a jonkie. Actually, she reminds me of Amy Whinehouse.

  5. I didn't watch it, so I don't know the context of it, but the joint used to be much smaller. They changed it in to a larger venue in 2009 , so he could of been referring to that.

GUYS can you please read this person´s post? THAT might be what Axl meant. ^^

  6. From what I remember from back in the day, Axl liked Kurt/Nirvana and it was said that he was very much into all the grunge stuff. He could even be seen wearing a Nirvana cap in one of "The makin´ off" videos. On the other side, it was said that Kurt didn´t like Axl because he represented what he despised ( Axl was a big rock star, with all the big lifestyle, the big corporate contracts...etc) which is, imo, pretty ironic since Nirvana made it big and became the head of the grunge movement and they also ended up living the rock star lifestyle, they were played on MTV all the time...etc.

I grew up listening to GNR and Nirvana, I loved Nirvana but I think that band was over rated, today, I don´t consider their songs to be as good as I used to. Actually, I don´t listen to them anymore. And, if we talk of lyrics and all, to me Axl is way better and more talented than Kurt was. And, I definitely admire Axl over Kurt because even though he lived in hell, he had the balls to stay and live.

  7. I don´t know if you are really serious with this topic but anyways...Just because the band and the camp read this forum doesn´t mean you can´t voice your opinion, as long as you keep it respectful and insult-free I don´t see a problem. Constructive criticism is good as long as it doesn´t turn into a bashing fest.

  8. Interesting...

I for one have always LOVED One in a Million, the lyrics, rhythm, groove, everything! But I often feel like people expect me to hate it (and maybe I should) because I am an immigrant (the legal kind), I've suffered through racism all through school and I'm an active supporter of LGBT rights but I've never been offended by that song! For me the songs meaning extends further than a couple of offensive words and I think when people listen to it they should try to focus on the image/scenario of the bus-stop Axl is trying to paint rather that just a couple of words.

I also dislike the fact that the end verse of the song "radicals and racists, don't point your fingers at me" was not mentioned in the show, its just unfair.

    Good post.

  9. I wish the best for Ron but I think you guys are taking this matter out of proportion ( as usual ). The man just talked and took it all out of his chest, that´s all. But please, try to be more respectful and stop with the useless speculation that usually happens here.

  10. Definitely photoshopped, but it's cute

Speaking of Duff, I was kind of surprised to hear Axl say that he wasn't convinced that the whole meeting was really just a strange coincidence. Wonder what was about? Does he think Duff somehow set it up or something?

I thought he meant more like "fate brought us together" or something like that. In Duff's book he also said something along the lines of that he couldn't belive it was just a coincidence that out of all of the hotels they could have stayed at they ended up literally right next to each other

Yes, I think I read something like that in an interview. It was just a mere coincidence and it was all pretty cool.

  11. Groghan: don't you understand or do you not want to understand? People don't complain cause they like doing bit because these interviews don't really say anything. No dates, no names - they contain nothing but vague wishes and THAT'S why people wont be satisfied, not cause they hate the band. Can you really not see this?

I love this band, and I totally agree with Ashba that they put on some kick ass shows, but this is the last interview I'll read from any member but Axl (so 11/11/11 will be sweet).

I would understand that the guys don´t give more "concrete" info if we bare in mind the amount of leaks around them. And I don´t mean the songs that leaked, but all they do, every single step is caught by someone else who can´t keep their mouth shut and spreads it in the net. For exemple, if the band goes and has a private meeting to talk stuff related to them, there´s always the waiter, the dj, the doorman..etc who will run his mouth.

Also, people here analyze every single word and they make up their own stories so...I would understand that they are carefull with their words.

  12. there's a time and a place for everything...in my opinion, the time for this wardrobe has gone...it was cool when it was done for the first time...doing it again would be unnecessary...I mean he only wears the bandana because his hair would get in his face when he runs around...I don't think he does it to be the Axl of the 80s/90s...he's got a new style now...I like it.

I agree, and also, our tastes and likes change as we age as does our physical appearance. And honestly, I love the man but he would look ridiculous with the kilt now. Don´t get me wrong, but he is almost 50 and trying to wear the same clothe style of his 30´s and 20´s would be stupid. He looks awesome now and I like his current style, it fits him pretty well imo.

  13. I´ve been called a lot of things for defending Axl and GNR. That´s pretty ridiculous and I understand that we can´t all share the same opinions and that we have different views but people here take it too far. This is a GNR fan forum and I sometimes feel this is right the oppsite because dare you defend Axl Rose and you are treated as if you were comminting a crime.

I love what Slash did during his GNR years but I lost respect for him long ago and I don´t go to a VR forum or to a Slash forum to complain and bash the man. That´s what people do here every fucking day. No matter what Axl does, good or bad, they always have an insult or a lack of respect to throw. And I can´t help feeling shocked to see all that negativity towards the man who is the lead singer of the band you are supposed to be here for.

We don´t have to agree or support blindly, and we can share different opinions and views on certain matters but the problem I see here is that people take it all to heart and go too far. Criticism isn´t bad as long as you don´t resort to insults, mockery and lacks of respect. THAT is what people don´t understand here.

  14. I remember that in the previous tours he had problems with one of his hips and he didn´t cancell any shows, he played with the flu, with a sore throat and, if I´m not wrong, I think I remember that in the last show in London in the 2006 tour where Sebastian Bach had to sing the last songs because Axl was ill and couldn´t go on, he had been playing even though the doctors adviced him not to.

Time keeps proving people wrong over and over but it doesn´t matter. When something happens or something´s wrong, they resort to the same bashing and usual shit instead of thinking that there might be important reasons we don´t know. You guys are very quick to jump into conclusions and wrong judgements. Maybe you should think twice before you post.

And once more, kudos Mr. Rose

  15. What?! Really? This must be DJ's doing. Because:

“Another thing that I don’t know you’ll ever see is a Axl Rose reality show. When I see that shit, I laugh. Here’s the only other time that he got mad at me. I had just finished shooting Supergroup for VH1. It was on TV in America while we were gallivanting across Europe. We had a beautiful dinner at some incredible Italian restaurant. We are sitting there and I go, ‘Dude, I just shot this reality show for VH1 and they paid me this amount of money, man. It was fucking easy. It was only like two weeks. It was hilarious. Axl, if they paid me this amount of money, they’d pay you like a million bucks for 10 days of some shit.’ He’s looking at me with this look on his face and he’s all quiet and he goes,

‘Sebastian, you don’t understand.’ I go, ‘What?’ He goes, ‘I will pay VH1 $2 million to leave me the fuck alone! (Rolling Stone,[bach & Axl hanging out in 2006],

Dude, it´s just an interview not fucking big brother

  16. I hope this can be available online for all of us who don´t live in USA .

Do you seriously think Axl’s first extensive televised broadcast since the mid-90s will not be recorded en masse by the internet populace?

haha I guess I shouldn´t have asked, it´s pretty obvious it will be online <_<
