  1. So, in one of the oh-so-many articles about making of Chinese Democracy (years ago, Classic Rock, etc) it was said that when Josh Freese left and Brain was brought in, Axl wanted Brain to play Freese's material with Brain's feel. In order to do so, Freese's material was transcribed, and the transcription was given to Brain to learn.

Freese's music was sent to a man, and a month later he sent back a brick-thick transcription of his music on paper. Brain learnt that, and played it his way, bla bla bla.

Now, I know it's no news to anybody who read those articles, etc.

But, my question is - and I sincerely apologize if it is has been asked before me, before the album release, or before Christ - fellow die hards surely have a lot more interesting topics to discuss - has anybody ever thought it's kinda strange they wouldn't let band members get a copy of the music (infamous Bumblefoot learning IRS with a laptop and a set of headphones), but they'd send a copy of the whole album (and unreleased songs, since in late 90s they didn't know which songs would make the 2oo8 cut) to some dude to transfer the sound into symbols?

    Thoughts anyone?

  2. i'll answer that, bikoz I just accidentally stumbled across this topic within the 24 hrs of me listenin to an old Axl MTV Interview

    in it,
Axl said that he started runnin around the stage while opening for The Stones

he reminded himself that he ran cross country as a kid

and i guess he stopped wearin those all-leather costumes, from cowboys boots to tight pants all the way to a cowboy hat - and it pretty much made him a statue on stage - couldn't run, couldn't jump, couldn't headbang, just stood there like all those heavy metal fatsos in the audience

  3. it pretty much said that it's pretty much sad of Erin to auction such an old stuff.
Plus, regular people give it back or burn it, instead of Ebayin' it

anyhow, Axl's rich so Jarmo will spend the night online betting Axl's money to get this stuff back

And kids, or whoever is the beneficient of the auction, will get their hot meal

    and fans are fed

so at the end of the day it's a win-win situation

  4. well, all bullshit aside, Bucket, Freese, Finck and whoever else, left the band bikoz

    1. they didnt want to be in it anymore

    2. they wanted to seek creative fulfilment by doin smth else (something more "their own" than Axl's)

    3. they got enuff money off GNR to pay for the kids' college - the rest will be covered by giggin with Trent or solo or whatever

  5. Hello,

On the day that Buckethead left GNR in 2oo4 - did he do so despite still being under contract to the band, or did he simply choose not to sign a new contract once the old one expired?

Does anybody have any info on that?

    Cheers
