What would that prove though? Since most of these titles are real (working) titles of GN'R unreleased tracks, if they popped up there would still be speculation on whether they were actually in the database or it was because of the algorithm. The point is to try with titles that are made up or are known to not have any association with GN'R at all, and of the ones you listed only "Cock a Roach Soup" and "Russian Skies" (since the real title is "Cuban Skies") would do.

Maybe the people who have been searching for titles for a long time, like since last year, can tell us what else they have searched (Zodiac? Quick Song?)

Since this has all started I was searching Tonto and Zodiac everyday. And Four Heavens

I think tomorrow is the day we can confidently say whether or not if this is algorithmic. It’s been about the same amount of time between HS on Spotify->release.

I think tomorrow could be interesting. But if nothings said by the time middle of October comes around I’d say it’s a bust.

    Hasn't Perhaps appeared in Norway?

Possibly but not that I’m aware of. If it actually has then I believe everything’s all due to algorithm

  3. The one interesting thing is if this is a double EP that’s potentially coming. The 4 songs would make sense. That’s the one thing that’s been completely consistent. It’s always the same 4 songs

    Atlas Shrugged

    Soul Monster

    The General

    State of Grace

Nothing else has popped up. Goin Down, Nothing, Perhaps, Berlin (or any other name it’s gone by) Blood In The Water. Nor any other track from the Village Tapes. Maybe it is algorithm. But at minimum it’s suspicious just because of how consistent it really is. I’d still say it’s too early to rule anything out. Especially when the band isn’t supporting UYI announcements

Fuck, I hope you're right. I just can't fathom how the algorithm alone would lead to this, it's just so improbable.

Watch we probably just happened to get lucky and catch the spotify stuff. UIY remaster was probably just the misdirection and new material was going to be a surprise release.

Because honestly, someone had to be the first to search it. The result popped up before everyone here started to.

Are you typing the whole song title or just part?

    Full name

Only songs I’m getting are Soul Monster, Atlas Shrugged, State of Grace. No covers, no The General.

I’ve only searched Soul Monster twice before. I’ve searched Perhaps and The General dozens of times. So I can’t believe this has anything to do with Algorithms.

This would have been a no brainier. Pick the best 5 oldGNR demos, and the 6 best CD2 demos and re do them as a new album. There’d be something for everyone on that.

    There we go.

    1. The General

    2. Bring It Back Home

    3. Soul Monster

    4. Too Much Too Soo

    5. Atlas Shrugged

    6. Just Another Sunday

    7. Perhaps

    8. Aint Goin Down

    9. Zodiac

    10. Goodnight Tonight

    11. Quick Song

    12. Knockin On Heavens Door

    Now that’s an album

I honestly wouldn't mind if they went the Van Halen route and repurposed/re-recorded some of those old, unreleased songs as proper finished songs on a "new" album.

I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to it. Especially for Aint Goin Down. I would like to see them make it more like the 86 version. But lyrics need some work because it feels like somethings missing. But heck, they might not release that because they have intentions to release Goin Down and the titles would contradict each other :lol:Who even knows anymore

  8. I like they are including live stuff. I’m not going to complain since they are actually doing something for once. But I would like to see GNR join up with Nugs. Put all their live stuff on there. They could cash in on all the live material just sitting around while also pleasing most every fan.

I do hope they also do something with unreleased UYI songs. I know not everything could make it on CDs but would be cool if they did even a flash drive again with stuff not included on discs.

Ain’t Goin Down, the potential You Could Be Mine demo pre 91, Perfect Crime 86 Live or if there was an early days demo. West Arkeen demos. UYI Outakes. There’s a lot of potential bonuses that could be used. Hopefully some of that stuff gets proper treatment somewhere down the line if it isn’t here.

But if they aren’t going to include Aint Goin Down on this. It makes me wonder if they intend to redo it as a “new song”

What's possible about the way the Spotify search algorithm works is that it takes into account the popularity of the artists - not so much based on the amount of searches, but on the general popularity like the overall views an artist has on Spotify and in association to the searched title. For example, if a GN'R song contains some of the searched words, GN'R appear in the results because they are a relatively popular band. So, in the case of State of Grace, there is the Taylor Swift song, but other artists who have songs with this exact title as not as popular as T.S. and not more popular than GN'R.  It would still be difficult, however (although not entirely impossible) for GN'R to pop up without having any real association with this title but only because about 100 people who have GN'R in their playlists searched for it. In the case of Speak Softly, on the other hand, there are lots of more famous/popular versions than Slash's, so Slash doesn't come up.

Agreed. Especially considering people who dont listen to GNR are searching this and getting the same results. Atlas Shrugged is enough to convince me there’s more to it than anything. Neither word is in a GNR song. And the fact the song title is being searched without the band info. GNR maybe popular to us. But on Spotify not as much

Didn’t someone confirm that GnR didn’t lose anything in that fire and that the original report listed them as an impacted artist by accident?

    Yes it has been confirmed

Not trying to be rude but can't we move the UYI Remaster stuff into a new topic?

Is there anything in terms of new music we can have hopes for right now? I heard "Insiders" have been saying stuff???

Agreed. This is more so about the Spotify Chinese Leftovers

TBF to GNR if nothing comes from this, well that isn't on them. We have been looking for clues and finding pretty elaborate lines to follow, so if we're barking up the wrong tree you can't say GNR encouraged this.

Of course, the other way to look at it is all the comments from Slash and Fernando saying imminent release of summer single, or 6 months and there will be an album... so with us believing there is something rather imminent about a release it's not entirely far fetched. BUT I still feel like if there's people here putting a timeline like end of the month you're just going to disappoint yourself. Within the year or early next year seems like a reasonable timeframe.

Surprise release, staggered release... whatever! just get to it, end of the day it really doesn't matter how they do it just as long as when it does come out the label and band push the fuck out of it so that as many people as possible are aware of it.

Oh I don’t mean GNR encouraged it any. I just mean we all know the GNR Camp looks at the boards. They’re well aware of the string board we have created. I just mean it would be good fan service to toss a bone.

Encouraged or not. People will always blame GNR for not having what they want.

The more tracks start popping up the less I think this means anything. Would love to be wrong but people really gotta calm down.

To be fair, this is probably the final straw for a lot of people. If nothing comes from this it will make a lot of people lose hope until it’s in their hands physically. So I don’t blame people for being excited. Besides leaks, Hardskool/Absurd and stuff. This is the most exciting things have seemed in an over a decade. So I’d say let them be excited for a moment. At minimum it’s entertaining. Just hope Guns make the right move

Same thing happened with HardSkool prior to release. If you typed ‘Hard Sc’ or ‘Hard Sk’. GnR would appear. If you typed any more letters, GnR would disappear. As we got closer to release, you could type pretty much the whole song name and GnR would show.

    Well that aspect is intriguing.

I’ve been around the community for nearly 20 years. So I’m not one to hold my breath. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say for once I have a different feeling about this potentially coming to fruition. When and how are the big questions.

Honestly though, the Guns camp should capitalize on the buzz that has been created amongst the fanbase. At minimum it would help build some good will back. Their best bet would be releasing a surprise album online and then have available for purchase later physically.

That alone would give them media buzz. Even Eminem who predictably drops a “surprise” album every year now it seems gets big buzz.

Edit: State of Grace not appearing for me anymore in USA

Another thing: I have searched Silkworms in various countries and neither GN'R nor Absurd come up.

Which is a decent sign because it would play against this all being down to an algorithm.

As for Soul Mon giving results for GNR. I can’t take that one serious personally. Until a set of full words are typed in it seems more suggestive than anything.

It does seem like something is in the works. But the question is, what?

A full album might give a cover or two. Fine. An EP slightly larger than HardSkool could also. In that case most likely live versions. An album bundled with a bonus live album could be possible. Which could explain several covers popping up.
