  1. Okay so during Rock in Rio i was thrillied to see Guns N' Roses playing the Use Your Illusion II epic 'Estranged'. Just seeing it being brought out of the bag was brilliant. Coulden't of asked for anything else. Just Magic.

Now since that prefomance i have listened to Use Your Illusion II alot and everytime it gets to Estranged i always crank up the volume. But after hearing how it is played with Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff, Matt and Dizzy it doesn't seem so greeat at Rock In Rio, or any of the other shows. So i started listening to some live versions from 92. And the preformances of 2011 are missing something. I don't know what it is, but it's missing something.

To me, Estranged is a song of the Illusions lineup. Not this line up. This lineup can do so much better than the original band on some tracks. (Nightrain springs to mind here, Listen to Rock AM Ring 2006) But Estranged should of stayed in the vaults. By bringing this song back, people are going to want more stuff brought back. They will basicly want all the stuff from the Illusions brought back.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great that Axl is listening to the fans. But i think there are better songs to have brought back instead of Estranged and to see it played now in the way it is, is gutting for me personally. Anyone else feel the same?

Thing is, why would you expect Estranged to sound like in the old ORIGINAL days? No way, not one song from the old line up sound the same or better nowadays, they're simply different. Ron is not Slash, Slash is not Ron, they're different guitar players with different styles. Ron picked up his guitar and played all the old songs the way he wanted to. He can't be Slash but I know that he's definitely not trying to be Slash because he doesn't have to. Same goes for Ashba and Fortus. 'Estranged' sounds decent today but it's not Slash's sound and will never be. You can like it, you can hate it or you can simply smile whenever you see Axl and his new band playing a song that hasn't been played in 18 years, like me. That said, I agree with the new Gn'R supporters, Axl should be more worried about releasing new songs than playing old songs that would bring more and more 'Is-Not-Slash-Sound' kind of comments, which by the way, it's pretty pointless at this moment. :shrugs:

  2. You would be first in row for a nugnr reunion with Buckethead, Finck, Brain, etc.

I'd love to see that. I'd love to see any lineup without Slash.

Who are you kidding you would be fighting for tickets just like the rest of us if there was ever a reunion between Slash and Axl........ ;)

As crazy as it sounds I would not. If that ever happens i'll leave this forum forever.

It will happen. Axl will stop thinking about himself for a moment and realise that he needs to do this to give the fans something that they want (or maybe as an excuse to delay a nuGN'R album)

    Don't feed the cupcake :)

  3. "people are unhappy"........who,the jerkoffs here? "axl needs more practice"......at what, sucking your dick? If you watched the entire show and thought it was hit shit ,then you are a fucking moron. You see, none of you fuckers paid to see it and if you did not enjoy it , you could at anytime click off the page.Simple as that. And, as I said the flaws in the show were obvious. Alot of people here hide behind "everybody is enttitled to thier opinions" type of reasoning as a justification to talk about nothing.

Are you 14 years old by any chance? That would explain why your posts contain such irrational logic. If you want to speak purely objectively it was a horrid show. You like the show, good for you that is your subjective opinion, and other people either will share the same subjective opinion as you or they won't. Whining about it is immature. People aren't talking about "nothing", there are legitimate concerns and complains laid out from the other members here. If YOU don't like it, leave.

Understand what "opinions" are and then come back to the internet

    +1

  4. ya, its sad, people in this forum really missed it. I cant wait for the U.S. tour. I think it would be a good idea for the majority of you to go back and really watch those videos, and instead of looking for the negative, understand that this is what rock and roll is/use to be and with axl, as the last remaining vestige of that great genre, you have the last remaining opportunity to witness it.

I do understand where your head is. But maybe you are unable to grasp the magic.

    LOL, you're pathetic.

  5. 1. I can't understand how people can say that it was a great performance. It fuckin' wasn't. It was pretty awful but, that being said, it wasn't the band's fault. It was all about Axl and the rain. I don't like Ron, Ashba or Fortus but I gotta be honest and say that they were giving their best at RiR.

    2. See, I don't like this new band and I never liked them but I think you should be really stupid to say: "Axl should retire or reunite". So, a reunion will bring Axl back from Disney World? Will make him lose 25lbs? Fuckin' NO, don't act like a fuckin' retard.

    3. One thing we all need to understand is that no matter how you want to see it, if you're an "Axl lover" or "Axl hater", he was:

    - UNPREPARED FOR THIS SHOW/NEW TOUR, he didn't give a ****. He had a whole year to prepare and he spent his time at Mc Donald's.

    - OUT OF BREATH (and he wasn't even running how he was used to in 2010).

    - MICKEY MOUSE VOICE AGAIN, (it took him YEARS to recover that rasp voice and in 2010 he was getting better and better, almost close to the old days, so it's not hard to understand that in 2011 he would have been even BETTER, but no, he didn't rehearse SHIT!!!).

    - CRY BABY, he was getting mad about everything, if you forget the lyrics you WROTE, it's your own goddamn fault. "You know, I'm really getting fuckin' pissed, I got no patience" -- that sounded like my sister when she was 5 years old and my dad didn't want to buy her some candies. WTF?!

    - UNPROFESSIONAL, you were supposed to give 100% at shows but you're OBLIGATED to give 300% at one of the best Rn'R festivals in the fuckin' world, even more if you know that the show was being broadcast to the whole planet.

    - FAT, he lost some weight in 2010, he was getting thinner and thinner and it's not about how he looks (which I really don't give a ****).

    4. For people saying "Oh man, but let's not forget Axl is almost 50!" "He's getting old, what do you expect, the same 28-year-old Axl?". Look at Mick Jagger, Bono, Bon Jovi, Steven Tyler, Brian Johnson, James Hetfield. They're old as **** but they're still putting a GOOD show! Even Slash and Duff that almost died for drug and alcohol abuse look better than Axl. Age doesn't have nothing to do because Axl demonstrated in 2010 that if he REALLY wants, he can get almost the same voice than before and some sort of the same look.

    _______

Well, I could go on and on but I don't want to sound like I'm the right person to put Axl on the spot because I'm definitely NOT. I really hope his new hired hands can put him against the wall and tell him that he was a disaster at RiR and he needs to grow the fuck up and get his shit together or his new legacy of Gn'R will be history. For the rest of the band sans Ron's stupid mistake in WTTJ, I think it was pretty decent, I watched the whole show and I think they were giving 110% even though the rain wasn't helping.

  6. Okay, let's be honest. I don't like the new band but that song was played good, I might add that, to my taste, it wasn't the right tone for Ron's guitar and the Ashba's solo didn't sound TOO good (bit sloppy) still, great performance but Axl was awful. I imagine him singing that song with the 2010 voice (not expecting the '92 voice) and it could have been pretty but PRETTY good.

  7. "The "GNR" of today is one of the longest running jokes in the music business, really the Axl solo band masquerading as GNR, a wobbly monument to Axl's ego, and a smoke and mirrors routine that grows less and less convincing with every gig."

    truer words were never spoken

101% agree. I'm using that as a signature.

  8. after they practically gave away their stock, I wouldn't blame them if they stopped carrying it.

They had to sell CD for $1.99 HAHAHAHA! It's so funny, while AFD after almost fuckin' 25 years is still around $10.

  9. Was it Dover who was fired for his heroin addiction?

It was Rod Jackson, the singer on the second Snakepit album that had the heroin issues.

    Too bad, Rod was awesome!

But he has cleaned out already. I saw a little but really little interview with him not long ago, he said "Hey Slash, what's up bro? Give me a call sometime!". I think the one who doesn't wanna have anything to do with him is Slash. He has a powerful voice and I think the second Slash's Snakepit record was FIREEE!!

  10. Well, first of all clarify what's a reunion? I can't imagine Axl getting back together with Slash and the rest, touring the world and making records once again. I just can't and I can assure that that's not gonna happen whatsoever. That said, yeah, it'd be awesome if they can just get back together for one worldwide tour. They'll make millions of fans happy (and actually kind of "rescue" tons of old fans that don't give a fuck about the awful new cover band Axl put together). They'll also make tons of money. It'd be one of the biggest reunions of all time because they're all alive, no one will be missing. All they need to do is sit their asses down and talk but we all know how Axl is and that's why is sort of "impossible" at this point.

Almost forgot, who's Ashba? I think that's my dog's nickname.
