Honestly it sounds more finished to me than Scraped does on the actual CD album lol. The guitar work doesn't sound sloppy to me on Monsters, and the drum machines in the verses seem more of an artistic decision (Prostitute for example) rather than placeholder drums
Yeah, those drum machines aren't something I'm really fond of. They fit Prostitute a lot better, IMO. But it's still a great song. Solid verses, really cool breakdown, good chorus and the best Slash solo since the reunion. I have absolutely no hope for the production in the final version to be any better than what we got in the leak. 99,9% chance it will be the exact same version.

This forum has already lost like 80% of the activity it had just a few years back. Just the beggars & hangers on (pun intended) still left here ...
The General/Monsters leak revitalized this forum quite a bit though.

Yesterday I realized GnR could call it a day any year now, and whenever that happens, these boards are gonna lose a lot of activity

I'm actually excited for Echo.
Haven't watched What If Season 2. Season 1 was so bad, I don't feel like giving this a chance. Especially after reading the episode titles.
EDIT: Echo was a let down. Kingpin was really cool throughout, the Daredevil cameo was really cool but the show itself was mostly BS, IMO.

The only CD leftover I often listen to is Going Down.
I listened to Perhaps a lot when it came out, but not so much anymore.
When The General and Monsters leaked, I listened to both quite a bjt, especially Monsters.
Never liked Hard Skool, be it the leaked version or the Duff/Slash version.
And I think Absurd is probably the worst GNR song ever.

The album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath has gotten my attention now, as you can see.
Great list! Did you get to listen to Sabotage? I reckon you’ll like it a lot, too.

Depending on your budget I’d highly recommend Rega Planar 1 or the Planar 1 Plus. The only difference is the “plus” has an inbuilt phono stage so you can plug it directly into powered speakers without needing to buy a separate phono (standard setup would be: record player, phono, amp, speakers - but if you buy a record player with inbuilt phono and then couple that with powered speakers you’re good to go). When I first got into vinyl for years I had that exact set up (Rega Planar 1 Plus) with a set of Edifier bookcase speakers off Amazon - sounded great.
Whatever you do though I wouldn’t go too budget - the really cheap ones have such poor cartridges that they actually damage your records as the needles are poorly designed / too big and can permanently scratch the grooves (not to mention sound dreadful). Go with a proper vinyl if budget allows.
Reach out if you get stuck or need help - there’s a vinyl thread on the forum 👍
I have a Rega Planar 1 Plus with an updated cartridge and a glass platter. Couldn’t recommend it more. Love it. And it already sounds great straight out of the box, I only upgraded it cause I’m easily manipulated by Youtube videos

Edit: Nevermind, the edges don't look right along the bottom of the tv. It looks like a prank.
What is this? Is this new? Is it anywhere in the video for https://globoplay.globo.com/v/12216520/ ?
I know Izzy’s kinda random but this would be way too much

As much as I loved Shin, I think this way better. Damn, this is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. Maybe the best.

Just got back from Godzilla Minus One. IMO, this was the best movie of the franchise. Amazing. I have never watched a Godzilla movie where I was so involved with the human characters and so hooked in the narrative. Godzilla is truly menacing and looks amazing. Love that the movie takes place in post WW2 Japan. Makes so much more sense. Man, this is easily a 9/10. Might be more.

Thanks @Sweersa! Those damn gray hairs are starting to appear in my beard and hair too, but I’m more worried about going bald like my dad

Hardly. I feel like it was better received when it was still assumed to be a piece of a larger whole with Monsters as a single, epic song.
It doesn't stand on its own nearly as well, imo.
There was also still a bit of hope when The General was merely a leak and we didn't know how the official release would turn out. Compound that with production issues, and the reality sinking in that this was The General, the built up myth now deflated, and it's not difficult to see how perceptions could have shifted
The whole “General and Monsters is a single song” thing was one of the most outrageous and ridiculous “theories” I’ve ever seen on these forums. People kept saying that even after they heard the tracks.
As for The General leak, it was pretty clear it was a version with Slash’s playing. I don’t know how anyone would expect something too different than that. Yes, the production sucks but it sucks at the same level as the previously released singles.

I hope so for your sake, but if I'm being brutally honest I'd be surprised if this tour runs three years. It's not a massive, over the top production like Legacy Of The Beast was. It is also a setlist that's heavily geared towards diehards, and thus maybe not one where demand necessitates another European run. Even the North American leg for next year, while more than I expected for this tour, is considerably shorter than usual.
In other news (But along the same lines) - Brazil added, and seemingly it's only a single date in São Paulo. Very odd.
I’m thinking of trying to align my anual company-paid visit to my family in Brazil with the newly added Sao Paulo date.

Even though I prefer the official version, to this day, I’m still baffled at how much Evader managed to make something good out of that incredibly noisy mess of a cellphone recording. Dudes really talented.

I was listening to The Getaway the other day. There's some good stuff on it. I still think it's a shame they ignore the two records they did without John.
IMO, it’s way better than the two reunion records so far.

Ok, I'll stop. Just saying, if you like "The General" in it's released state you will like ANYTHING that has Axl Rose on vocals, anything.
Here's a reaction video I'd agree with 100%, I won't comment anymore on this.
Nope. I just prefer The General to Riad, Scraped, TIL, Shotgun Blues, Get In The Ring, Right Next Door To Hell, Garden of Eden, Bad Apples and Anything Goes.

Anything Goes is kind of a filler and it contains some cringe worthy lyrics but it’s fun and has good energy.
Idk how can you even compare it to The General. TG is a entirely different type of song. They are not made by the same band and they don’t even belong in the same genre.
However, The General is barely listenable. The composition itself leaves a lot to be desired as it’s very repetitive and goes nowhere but the execution and production is just atrocious. I’ll take everything off CD and AFD over this garbage. I’m not a big fan of Scraped or Riad but at least they sound like finished songs.
Even live version sounded better and we all know Axl’s voice is completely shot. I think it says a lot.
I can’t stand Anything Goes. It brings AFD’s listening experience down. I always skip it. The General is a completely different song, yes, and it’s made by a completely different band but I can compare them like if I were to say I prefer Maiden’s Hallowed Be Thy Name to Daft Punk’s Give Life Back To Music
