  1. does this show represent a new high-water mark for nugnr? possibly.

Don't you think that it's odd that the people who rave on about how anti-industry Axl is, how he doesn't care about pleasing the establishment, and how much artistic integrity he has compared to money-hungry media-whores like Slash, Bon Jovi and Metallica.............also praise Axl for playing private shows for fashion designers, hanging out with pop stars at a grammy's party, playing weddings for money, suing everybody and their brother, following Motley Crue's footsteps and playing Vegas, and licensing the GnR name out to baseball cards (with Winger and video vixens) while his band members are selling hot sauce and emo clothing.

They also praise Beta's management skills. So they prefer private shows for rich industry people, associating the band with Bobbie Brown and Kip Winger, and playing vegas (like Motley Crue and Def Leppard) over the current band actually recording and releasing new music together? Weird.

    words of wisdom

This definetly helped clear up some things for me.I'm glad I took the time to read it.Incredible post filled with so much valuable info.Thankyou so much for explaining things with such clarity, and using examples to simplify things for us.
  2. I just read some poster with thousands of posts here about a band they hate, telling someone else they are a crazy.Hilarious.But at least this is a place for nutcases to have there oh so important opinions and there constructive critisisism. Again Hilarious.Keep up the good work,if anything its good for a laugh or a reason for the rest of us not to take mental health for granted.

  3. Go on the Facebook page for the event and click "Recent Posts by Others" and everyone's either just bashing GNR or asking to buy single-day tickets. Mostly GNR-bashing though.

Single-day tickets would be awesome, because then only the Gn'R fans will buy the ticket for their day, so more room for us.

I think there will be plenty of room to move around with people skipping out on the 3rd day not wanting to see GNR.

I actually think GNR has a chance of getting booed offstage at this show.

I don't that's ever happened in the history of GNR... Has it? Like actually getting booed to the point where they just go home?

    Nope.

Marc Canter said there was an outdoor show in the early days where they got shit on, but then eventually they won the crowd over.

Only in them classic early days would this amazing transformation of an audience be possible.Incredible.

Gnr bashing is a time honoured tradition, passed on generation to generation.People take it very seriously, all over the world.
  5. Axl did well in Philly last year. Wish I'd gone to that show. He has his nights, but overall he just won't ever have the voice he once did. I do think, however, the cleaner falsetto can work on certain tracks. Sounded amazing in '02 on The Blues. I wouldn't mind hearing a studio album with that voice and Queen-style material. Because he's straining to use it on older songs, where we're used to the rasp, it sounds bad; but it could sound fine on new, better-suited songs.

A good way of putting it. The rasp that everyone is used to is the key point really. New tracks that suit his voice sound fine.... just when he trys to force the rasp it sucks donkey chode.

Now at about 3:00 of this video from vegas I find Axl forces it, and imo it sounds dynamite.

This is probably the best i've heard Axl sing post 01'.... and he's just standing there pissed the hell off because people were throwing bottles on stage.

I think these vids show that the both breakdown sections of that song are pretty much the same vocal wise, even though they are six years apart.Yeah he was using heavier rasp during the verse in 06.

  7. if he goes into the red for 20mil because of this... I don't even know what to say. I guess his war against his trauma with Slash will then go on until the day he dies.

I'd like to know how you figure he could go in the red for 20 million? His lawsuit is for 20 million,it doesn't mean he would owe 20 million if the case is lost.
  8. It is not normal to cover the other parties costs, just possible.Especially if its only dismissed because of the statute of limitations, and not because it was a baseless lawsuit.

  9. God, some of the replies in this topic are really stupid

On topic: in case Axl doesn´t win this, he won´t have to pay 20 millions, he´d probably have to pay the lawyers fees and taxes related to the court and stuff.

If the lawyers told him it wasn't an open and shut case but thought Axl should proceed, then they probably would have went ahead on the basis of only getting paid if they win the lawsuit. And then there will probably be an appeal.
