Lol not the general though... that's what we're talking about here... plus being at the party an hearing it is different to someone actually having the demo or a studio version/ actual copy of this song.. no one here has it, so why spread fake news? Lol... it would have been shared already thru the usual places and "well known" sources. Just enjoy the phone recording like everyone else has, until uncle axl is ready to share it 👍🤘

You are completely mistaken with your opinion.

Oh, there are definitely quite a few comments from people around Axl where it is claimed that he is a perfectionist. You can read about it here: https://www.a-4-d.com/t4990-12-january-july-1991-touring-mayhem#19440

Personally, I think that he, like other people who are claimed to be perfectionists, to some extent choose what they should be perfectionist about, the day does not have enough hours to be a perfectionist about everything.

Most telling Axl quote. Sums up everything voice related we’ve been discussing on this forum for years.

Everyone may have loved it, but I know it sucked compared to what I should have done. Like, I can go out and not be able to hit the notes in the end of 'Rocket Queen' and I can make up a melody on the spot, right there on the stage, and people think they're getting something special cause they're hearing it in a different way, but I know the fact is that I couldn't hit the fucking notes

They were planning to release “Hard Skool” probably in the spring of 2020 based on it being soundchecked in Mexico. Covid delayed that. So they should have pivoted and prepared a full-length album for release by the time the world opened. They didn’t. More wasted time.

Money is currently in the nostalgia aspect of the band. Hence AFD/Illusions box sets.

6-8 months is a pretty big parking spot. Lots can happen or change in there.

It’s called being a fan of this band 😂

Certain, as in you have sources that have shared something? I mean, I want a new album as well so I’m hoping you have some sort of insider knowledge here.

Any “insider” knowledge will be shared with mods before it gets posted here. Not getting myself into the BS that I found myself in last time.

Actually don’t get high until 9pm but my post would still say the same thing.

Does any of this translate to an imminent release though? It’s been nearly a month now already since this was first spotted.

I don’t think so. My theory is they are going to milk the illusions box set for the holidays and then focus on the new album at the beginning of the year. I mean let’s face it, they milked AFD. Illusions is next to be milked. We aren’t going to see a special Spaghetti Incident box set or a re-release anniversary addition of CD. The next “logical” way to make money after all of the popular material is sucked dry is with a new album.

Alright, no screen shots so you will just have to trust me.

I did the "I can't find the new single Atlas Shrugged - what's happening?" routine. Here's the first reply from Nikita K at Spotify Customer Support:

"Got it. It was presented as one of unreleased songs, so it may be label choice - artists and labels decide if that's available on Spotify. Let me check if we have additional info on this".

I then asked what he/she meant with "presented as unreleased song"? to which Nikita dropped the bombshell, "Oh, I've personally been a big fan of GnR - and this was basically an unreleased song from Chinese Democracy :)"

I then said that I thought it was released already, hoping he/she would say it would be released on a specific date (but obviously they don't have this information and Nikita was way too professional to disclose such info anyway). Nikita then stated that nothing is wrong: "Seems like there is no error on this part - this must be a label / artist decision. If that changes any time in the future - the song might become available, but we have no say in this unfortunately".

I pressed on by asking, "Do you think it is about to be released, and that's why it is in your system, or just that Spotify keeps info on unreleased songs?" hoping to get some information on how Spotify works. Before Nikita responded, I phrased the question a bit differentely: "Could it be that Spotify itself has added info about this song to its database or must it be the label/artist?"

Nikita established her professionality and also suggested an algorithm thing (without me having suggested it first) while at the same time suggesting we should be on a lookout for new music: "We at customer support have no information if it is about tobe released - my best guess would be that people try to find that song by Guns and Roses, and due to sheer amount of requests it might be showing that. Can't say if that's why it works - but I'd suggest to be on a lookout!"

I didn't give up: "heh. But unlikely that Spotify itself adds info on unreleased songs to its databases? So either label/artist or some search algorithm quirk?"

Reply fron Nikita: "I'd love to tell you here for sure - I don't know. I'd definitely say that labels/artists have the final say in this - we just provide the platform :)".

I was undaunted: "So you think the label/artist have added info on Atlas Shrugged, most likely because it will be released?"

Then, unfortunately, "No, it's a bit more likely to be an algorithm. can't say for sure though. Would love to give you more details if I had them. :)"

Sending I couldn't get more info: "I suppose we will have to wait and see :). Thank you, you have been both helpful and professional :)".

Nikita: "Appreciatr your patience and your curiosity - I'd personally love to see that track on Spotify as well :)" Chinese Democracy is my fav album of GnR personally :)) Take great care of yourself *heart*"

Yes, she added a heart at the end.
