  1. That's really a shame. I have a physical copy of 5'o clock but never found Ain't Live Grand. Had to download it from iTunes. Too bad, my favorite post-GnR album Slash has ever been in. It's probably the meanest, in-your-face raw album Slash has been in after AFD. Gotta love Snakepit. So fuckin' cool.

    +1

  2. Slash became a legend because of GN'R.

He wouldn't be a guitar ''god'' if he would've been in any other band.

Just my opinion, but think about it.

of course, $la$h should be grateful to Axl & Izzy at least rock3

He has been grateful and spoken well of them in recent times. Its Axl who needs to learn to appreciate him more. All the hate comes from Axl's side. Slash has made his peace and doesn't give a fuck any more about Axl or the whole break up by the looks of things.

  3. I totally understand why Axl and Izzy never attended, which are personal reasons we as fans can't comprehend. The people who did show up, I could have guessed it would have been them from the moment this thing was announced.

Although I like Myles and have no problem with him, I STRONGLY feel that a vocalist who was neutral to everyone and not connected to anyone should have been chosen. With Myles singing up there, it's like Slash was given the upper hand, and control of this ceremony, which is not a good thing.

I'm sorry but I think that none of GNR should have performed without Axl.

I think Axl knew those betrayers would want to play, so he backed out and let them pick some asshole to do the singing.

Whatever Axl's reasons are it's his business and as a fan, he doesn't owe me anything about his personal feelings or what he does in his personal life.

Axl and GNR came to Dallas rocked the house and apologized to us to taking so long to get back to Dallas and thanked us fans for sticking with him and GNR. That's enough for me.

you can disagree, but really, why should Axl or any other musician give a shit about winning awards? It's all about we fans who care and have sticked with him through thick and thin.

Rock on Axl! As far as I'm concerned, you ar and always will be GUNS N ROSES!

You're absolutely right it is all about the fans and in the case of last night also the great music they created. Axl and Izzy should of just sucked it up and gone. There are old fans following this band since it started and like Duff said new fans that haven't even seen the original line-up perform. Leaving a performance aside I do think they should have all come together to accept this for the fans. Anyways I'm done talking about Axl not showing. Looked like a great show and I'm delighted that Steven got to play the guy deserves it. You can see his smile 50 meters from the stage in those videos!

  4. Duff and Slash know how to make good decisions. It was only natural to play a few songs at the ceremony. Izzy didn't come, who's the best choice to replace him for that night: Gilby. Axl didn't show up, who was the best choice to sing: Myles.

Good performance by the guys, congratulations!

Spot on. Myles knows the songs well because he's sung them so many times with Slash. And yes, the obvious stand in for Izzy was Gilby.

    Couldn't agree more

  5. Where does Axl mention Slash in his letter?

Does he have to? Or is this WHOLE THING about Slash? hhmmm

I think it has been Adlers disrespect towards the new band, his apology to bumblefoot, and his continued disrespect the next day. All in the name of self-promotion.

Add Slash victimizing himself with the "Axl hates my guts" statement :sleeper:

Isn't it the truth?. Besides Axl's been playing the victim for years now. Everyone's out to get him, gimme a break.

  6. To me Axl Rose' vocals defines the sound of Guns N' Roses. He is irreplaceable. As long as his vocals, lyrics and sense of melody is there, it is Guns N' Roses. I am looking forward to what the next record will sound like.

If Slash & Friends had the name he'd run it to the ground for me by releasing boring, generic blues rock records that would forever stain the legacy of the greatness of Guns N' Roses. If there's anything Guns N' Roses is supposed to be (for me) it is innovative and progressive. And if there's anything Slash isn't, it's exactly that.

Axl seems to be doing a pretty good job running the name into the ground all by himself

  7. No surprises here, either. As I said in the Duff thread, if the guys really want to play, they should have started working with Axl from the start, both by mending bridges and by suggesting scenarios that Axl would be comfortable with. Waiting untill a few days before the induction with no prior communication, to let everyone know THEY are not the ones responsible for no music at the ceremony because THEY really want to play, is too little too late, and even worse, one might argue that they are deliberately doing it this way to make Axl the bad guy again, basically setting him up for the fall. To complete the work they should thank Axl profusely from the podium to really make it clear to the world who the good guys and who the bad guy, are.

Ad to repeat myself again: They are honouring a famously dysfunctional and non-communicative band by being dysfunctional and non-communicative.

so basically, all the other members should bend over backwards and suck his dick to get him to come? Axl can come on the same terms everyone else is, no strings attached, just show up and accept the award. He chose not to, thats cool, its his choice. But no one else is to blame for his actions and they shouldnt make special preparations just for him.

    very true

  8. Really some of you guys!Who else were they supposed to get at such short notice. It would of been ridiculous if the guys being inducted didnt play a couple of GNR tunes. Given that Myles is familiar singing a lot of them it was a good choice. These people shitting on Myles WTF. He stood up to the plate and helped some friends out when they were stuck. Good on you Myles. Great job!!

  9. That's the problem with duplistic people. Adler and Slash are all cool and being "humble" on stage, but it's a sham. Keep in mind these guys have verbally crapped on Axl for the past 20 odd years. So if they present themselves as being all cool and having their shit together, it generates alot of fuck you Axl posts as the simpletons then are easily corralled into thinking the problems that exist with the old GnR lineup are purely down to Axl.

Ever think that they crapped on Axl because he deserved it. With Duff, Slash, Izzy, Adler, Gilby all saying the same thing about the guy, perhaps it may have been justified criticism.

And it's insane to blame these guys for walking away. If you were in a business/partnership/marriage and the other party/person was treating you like shit, wouldn't you extricate yourself from that situation. It's like blaming a woman for leaving an abusive husband. Doesn't mean that these guys aren't without their faults (ie drugs, booze), but their problems weren't so bad that the others quit on them.

I know Axl doesn't want to give these guys their moments, but why is everyone here begrudging these guys for celebrating their pasts. Remember, these are the guys responsible for most of the songs you're going to see Axl and his band play this past year and upcoming summer.

It's amazing that on a night like this we can't be happy for a group of guys that gave us so much and are giving back to the fans by honoring the music we hold so dear.

Adler aside when has Slash ever crapped on Axl?? Any interview video or written I've seen him do since 1996 he's very diplomatic about Axl. The most critical i've heard him be was in his book. Even so he's stating shit that EVERY member of the original Guns has already said. Therefore I just don't get this thing of Slash talking shit about Axl.

  10. No but sincerely, I wish Axl the best but he constantly shoots himself in the foot whatever he does, and the only guy to blame is himself.

blame Axl?? why .. cause he is loyal with us?? cause he is a man with strong convictions?? .. cause he knows exactly what he has to do to get GN'R goals?? ... cause he loves and respect each true fan? .. cause he did what all the fans from ever were waiting ... OK blame AXL .. I'm proud of him

bahahaha Goals??!! You mean like the better video? A decade waiting for an album, and another one touring it. I could go on but you really gotta wake up.

that sucks! .. can't believe this woman doesn't feel ashamed :o

and why we should put up with this woman and her pathetic pics? someone should tell her, she sucks

Why are you so pissed off at people enjoying themselves??

All the Axl worshippers are mad that Slash and company (fans, Duff, etc) are playing music and having FUN!!!!!

    While Axl sits at home.

Slash fans get to hear their favorite musicians perform.

Axl fans get to read a letter.

Only on this forum is performing music considered a sell out, and not playing and whining is considered rock n roll.

Some people/performers are about music and songs.

Some people/performers are about lawsuits, feuds and being "rock n roll."

    Right on!
