This was definitely not a show for the fans.  Starting price at $175 plus fees, plus the price you have to pay to be a Nightrain member to begin with - and the next price tier being 400 and over?  That is just inssaaaane

Sort of agree, but I am not sure of a better way.  Sell the tickets too cheap and then they all go amateur or professional scalpers who will sell them for this price anyway.

$175 to see Axl + Slash in a relatively small theatre is definitely fair in my book. $400 is steep, but I think that is the new normal given artists earn their living off tours.  It’s no longer album sales (especially without releasing albums!)

I’m kinda bummed so many people hate this song. I think it’s actually really awesome. Unconventional and maybe not GNR but really great vocals and a cool experiment.

I enjoy hearing his vocals on basically anything - the scream at 1:08 is really cool.  However, this song is so not Gn’R that, in some ways, it spoiled the other great CD leaks and makes me sympathetic to the side that says CD isn’t GNR.

It's tough to tell-- If a friend outright bought the ticket for someone else, I can't imagine they would ID everyone at the door to verify the name on the ticket with the person attending... But who knows.

Likewise, does anyone know if these Citi type tickets ever go to the re-sale market on like Stubhub? This is what I think they're trying to squash by doing it this way (aside from Citi & Livenation getting their kickbacks)

If a friend bought two tickets and you went with them, there surely couldn't be a problem. But by that same coin, if you showed up by yourself with someone else's ticket whether a friends or a re-sale/scalped -- I wonder if they have measures to block that.

I think the Chili Peppers and Metallica played Citi Exclusive shows at Palladium recently. Did anyone here go?

I can’t speak to the Palladium venue but I am fairly certain tix can be sold on stubhub. A lot of shows on ticketmaster and AXS do these credit card access specials

if your friend has a citi card, ask them to register and buy the tickets for you. That’s your best bet

So if I signed up for the Verified onsale thing, can I use my friends Citi card? I’m so confused by this

I don’t think so. The fraud alert will likely prevent this purchase. I had this issue when trying to use my girlfriend’s Amex for a pre-sale on my Ticketmaster account.

Best bet is for your friend to register and by the tix for you. Hope that helps

    Anyone deciphered lyrics yet?

For real, I’ve told some of you this, I just moved away to go to college and it’s been a little bit of a rough transition for me. These songs have seriously have brought so much joy and happiness to me that I’m overwhelmed. I needed Guns music at this point in my life and I’m so glad it’s out. I’m so happy right now.

Hang in there man!  It gets better - first year is always the toughest.  Just be yourself and fuck everyone else if they're not supportive.

I was a junior or senior in college when Better, TWAT, etc. leaked...Great times blasting those songs in my car!

Listening to this, it’s not hard to understand why Slash and Duff left. This is so far removed from what Guns were.

I do wonder what kind of album they could make today... I’ve seen nothing to suggest Slash/Duff would be able to make an album like that.

Yeah. Good point. Who knows want album Axl wants to make now.  Have a hard time seeing him wanting make a song like this at this stage of his life. Cld def see 2006 Axl doing this

    Lyrics I could make out

    What can I say
    Free will is blind today
    The choice that you made
is a not a road I would take
    To use and betray
    Simple as a power play
    Not far away
With tears that go unexplained now

    Oh my love
    Can it be
I'm falling from your grace with me now
    Oh more than ever
    I still remember

They say it's just a passing phase
    No more like a game
    Problems of the human race
    Goes right to your brain
Caught down in a hidden place
    With no sense of shame
The secrets there and you can't erase

    Oh my love
Can it be I'm falling from your grace with me
Now more than ever I still remember your name

When did you think you would tell me
How long you think I could wait
    (unintelligible)

How can it be you've fallen from your grace with me
    (unintelligible)

Now more than ever, I still remember your name

Thank you. F-ing impressive you could decipher this

Just going by what I was told. I know everyone has a "reliable source" these days, but mine is pretty darn reliable and I'm told Quick Song, Perhaps, Nothin, Eye On You and State Of Grace all have vocals.

Honesty, that’s a lot of close to finished songs for 1999-2001. I know we hate on Axl, but Axl and new GnR were quite productive in this time period (to my surprise). Just too bad they didn’t release something then!

It will be interesting to piece together what happened, in terms of new songs and/or vocals, between 2001 and 2006.

I think all in all, because Rock the Rock is current and new.  It is a new and recent Axl appearance and his first major one outside of live shows since the reunion - and to do a TV cartoon show appearance like that is pretty cool

The leaks are mostly rough demos of songs that are on an album that didn't live up to the hype of its own legacy with a few unreleased tracks that sound not totally finished yet, by a lineup that doesn't have Slash in it.

All in all, nobody besides us really cares about demos from the Chinese sessions

I think I have (respectfully) the complete opposite view.  I would agree if we were comparing a new Axl and Slash song to these old CD sessions. Rock the Rock was kind of dumb and definitely not authentically interesting rock news (at least relative to leaks of one of the most expensive and anticipated albums in the last 20 years)

Maybe looney tunes is better click bait than Chinese Democracy. That I would believe.  What a sad state of affairs for music, journalism, and Guns N’ Fucking Roses.  Sigh
