Many rumours about what transpired there.

But regarding the timeline, there was a near two-month gap between his passive-aggressive tweets (about being told by management to not mention Coachella) and his "nostalgia money grab" post. The "money grab" post was in late February 2016 and he apologized for it about a week later. Brain said that he got the call from Caram about Melissa right after Pitman was fired. According to Melissa, that happened in March and as a result she had little time to learn the songs. So I believe there were ongoing issues with Pitman and he either had been fired right before the "money grab" post or that post was the last straw that got him fired.

From what I remember Pittman also claimed he wasnt being paid for previous work and sued Axl the same year.

Tend to agree with this theory. Dr. Dre's Detox album was considered the hip hop version of Chinese Democracy, except that it was never released and was eventually scrapped altogether. I can see Axl being upset that Jimmy Iovine cut off his funding and gave him the cold shoulder, but continued to support Dr. Dre financially and otherwise under similar circumstances

Dr dres detox work didnt cost anywhere near Axls 13+ million (most expensive album ever). I am with Jimmy on this one. When does the buck stop on Axls spending.

Dre ended up shelving detox and he released the album Compton instead. But he also produced many tracks for labelmates and promoted artists. He brought talent (eminem 50 cent kendrick lamar and others) aboard interscope and his own aftermath label.

How does gnr explain this..... “written and recorded by Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan this year,” and marks the band’s “first collective new composition and recording together in 30 years since 1993’s The Spaghetti Incident?”

Perhaps was very much composed by Axl and whoever else was in the band in the late 90s... It sounds almost identical to the village sessions. I mean that statement is pure BS🤣 Just impressed they put a statement out though. To me it sounds like they don't want people talking about how this song is 20+yrs old, so they're hoping people don't research and just read and believe the statement. Gnr.... Everybody knows already, cats out of the bag 🤣

Lol and swept absurd and hardskool under the rug

Weird that for like a day they were knocking down all the leaks like they hired someone specifically on a 24 HR contract to do that...now they don't seem to care that it's out. Fine by me, I like having the demos and instrumentals to link people to on YT. Hopefully played live tomorrow....Some press release which also may allude hopefully to a physical release (with extras!)....that may be down the line if history serves....so let's see in the next couple of months if we get a 2nd tune and then an EP and probably a lyric video too (it was 2 and half months after initial HS release for that ! 😉)

I reckon the ones knocking down the leaks were the dumb tb fan boys or whatever they like to be called whose also been reporting videos for the last few years.

The general public wants a good solo, no matter who is playing it. Robin's lack of success is all on Axl. Axl gave the middle finger to Robin in 2002 when he no-showed Philly and went into hiding for 4 years. Robin gave him a second chance in 2006. Axl failed to release the album, again, and then had the nerve to not want to promote it when it was forced out in 2008. Nice way to treat the band members who were absolutely loyal to you.

Well I agree Axl has messed over the old band members and ill even throw steve adler and izzy in there.

But no way is a ex member going to be doing the main solo on a new single when Slash is in the band. Thats ludicrous. No matter how good or bad the solo is people want slash to be doing it.

My preference would have been all new material released not these leftovers. But again this is Axl at play.

Well some good takeaways at least from this show.

    1) Pretty Tied Up was played again, so unless media makes it a big controversy, it'll likely stay on the setlist.
    2) New Jersey gig is over with, so the likelihood of idiots like Craig attending has gone down significantly.
    3) Catcher In The Rye surprise! (The bread loaf throwing in the crowd is responsible for it's re-appearance and I refuse to think otherwise)

    4) NJ people really bring bread loafs to a concert. My biggest wtf moment.

Then maybe he shouldn't have replaced it? What I'd like to know is what the hell is Axl thinking in green lighting this garbage Slash solo over Robin's perfect solo? Make it make sense.

Axl has mostly replaced parts with current members. The general public also want Slash and Axl. They are GNR. They have no clue who Robin is. Robins not selling shit really.
