I could see Axl pulling a “wilderness years” type move and just disappearing again. That’s why ya gotta see him (them) live when you can. All our “heroes” are getting older.

I’d like to see Nightrain return as opener. PC as the closing song is perfect though.

He basically did go solo but used the GnR name for obvious reasons. But yes if he had gone full solo (divorced himself from the Guns name) he coulda been like Plant and released a bunch of diverse music…gotten that all out of his system then reunited with Guns. But here we are…

I was a young teen. TWAT! That's all.

So the European leg is over. 6 weeks off…. Maybe they’ll do a SA warm up gig here in Minneapolis 😂. Would be so convenient for me. Play SOD and PTU etc…. Nah- thinking we’ll have to wait til 2023.

Axl looks and sounds so good. The set list has improved, Street of Dreams has been added, the band is on fire/GnR is back on the top of the world it seems. I really hope they add some August US dates. Doubtful though as August is the only break they get in 2022 it seems. I'm so jealous of all the shows I'm watching online....hope they keep the momentum going!!!

I saw Blind Melon once in concert prior to Shannon passing away and it totally changed my tune on them. But I do see how they wouldn't make the list for many others.
Damn Yankees is a good call out, bit didn't they release two albums at least? Their Self Titled Debut and the follow up called Don't Tread?
Good point - seeing a band live is a different game vs album only. Yankees- maybe they do have 2. None the less pretty sure they do have (allegedly) some other unreleased album. Who knows….

New video up on my channel talking about 5 Bands We Should've Heard More From. I discuss GN'R around the 5 minute mark. Any views and likes appreciated
That was a good list. Not sure Blind Melon was that good a band though (weren't my jam at least). I woulda added the Damn Yankees to the list. Allegedly a 2nd album (unreleased) does exist. GnR- 100% the most obvious. I don't even consider CD a Guns n Roses album. Rather it's an Axl solo deal under the GnR banner. So we really don't have anything new from GnR since the Illusions (Spaghetti I suppose technically is).

If their management was cool, they would make up for this show with a different date, keep the T-shirts and stuff, only cross out the original date and write a new one under it. That would be funny.
You talking festival management or GnR management? Because GnR didn’t make the call the festival did.

Father time is a bitch. Enjoy Axl while we can how he is. A world with Axl is better than no Axl.

Sadly “By the time the band played the final date on its Use Your Illusion trek, their classic lineup had started to splinter, and Guns N' Roses would never be the same.” - https://ultimateclassicrock.com/guns-n-roses-use-your-illusion-tour-2/

When and where did this happen?
I’ve heard the audio (it’s out there in internet world). I forget where I found link (probably on this site). Guessing ‘87 or ‘88. Pre “feud”.

Can’t believe I forgot about Baz - duh. I’ve seen that duet a few times in person too.

Last night with Underwood was outstanding. My favorite was with Mick. Here is my list of his duet partners… who am I missing? Vince Neil, Petty, Henley, Hoon, Mick, Springsteen, Bono, Elton, Billy Joel, Pink, Underwood.

Imagine this scenario, kinda like Axl/dc but this time with an axl motivated in velvet revolver.
i know some may say is guns n roses but i think it would be really diferent mechanic of a band
would be so fresh n rock, could be the closed thing to the 80s gnr but with ñew songs
That aint gonna happen but I'd like to hear some more VR songs on the Guns set. Also would be great if Matt was in and Frank out. But at this point Guns are what they are.

Matt called this Axl’s greatest performance…hard to disagree.

“Too bad he didn’t do much after GNR” Bruh, he has 11 solo albums…
Ok yeah got it Chief. Nothing that noteworthy though after the Hounds.

Throwback article for his Bday- Why Izzy Stradlin was the heart of Guns N' Roses- https://www.loudersound.com/features/opinion-why-izzy-stradlin-was-the-heart-of-guns-n-roses
Never knew this (shitty if true)- When the band was inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Izzy set up a meeting with Axl at a L.A. Hotel. He wanted to get an agreement for the original band to play together one last time - do the fuckin’ re-union there in that moment and then say “thank you, good fuckin’ night.” After waiting for two hours for Axl to show, he drove home to Ojai. No-show Axl had made him miserable one more fuckin’ time.

Too bad he didn’t do much after GnR. JuJu Hounds and a few other projects…but kinda like Axl - he seemingly had so much more in him. Oh well- thankful for what we did get. Happy Birthday Izzy!!!! 🎸

An Interview with Former Guns N’ Roses Manager Alan Niven
in GUNS N' ROSES - DISCUSSION & NEWS
Posted
Skip past the Great White part to the GnR half.
Niven- The biggest giggle I got was Axl paying Kostabi $75,000 for the (UYI's) cover paintings...he didn't understand the images were public domain...he didn't have to pay anything for their use. But then, look at how Yoda (Sharon) conned him. ANother $75,000 for an "Exorcism". Talk about the vulnerable being taken advantage of.
