  1. Fernando Lebeis was released from management duties and promoted to full time band member, replacing Tracy and Roberta

"I've been working with Fernando for too long to remember." - Axl told Rolling Stone reporter recently.  "So many of my decisions over the last thirty years has been solely through divine inspiration.  My sock drawer used to be a mess.  One day, I saw young Fernando putting together pairs of socks and sort the drawer by athletic and dress socks.  I knew right then if you could manage a sock drawer, you could manage Guns N' Roses.  Like my matching socks, Fernando and GNR was a match made in heaven and cotton." - Axl Rose

"It was only recently, since the pandemic, that I found out what a lovely voice he has.  My normal hairdresser went out of business but I desperately needed someone to braid my hair.  Fernando readily volunteered.  As he was deliciated touching my head and massaging my scalp, he kept whispering in my ear." Axl explain, pausing to reflect on the emotions of the day.  Axl was clearly very emotional about the incident but continued.

"His whispering, in that sultry accent that only people that speak English as a second language can do, really got to me.   I said to Fernando.  Bro, you have the ASMR voice of an angel.  How would you like to replace Tracey and Roberta in the band - I said" - Axl

"Fortunately for GNR and fans worldwide, he agreed." - Axl

Axl further stated that he had been looking to add Fernando to GNR for a while.  Axl initially thought he would make a perfect addition to the band as the new brass section for a remixed "Move to the City" brass section but it didn't work out.  When asked the reason it didn't work out, Axl simply said his blowing wasn't up to Axl standards but declined to elaborate further.

They didn't even bother to put the SCOM demo in that boxset. You know, the song that made them famous. Or the Nightrain demo with the alternate intro. Unless of course they want to milk it again and release the EVEN MORE REMASTERED & LOADED AFD boxset in 2027, which I totally expect from GNRs management.

You wouldn't want them to blow their LOAD all at once?  Sometimes you just gotta savor the flavor?

I have no idea what happens after this.  I'm sure there will be a wait and see period after WrestleMania and now UFC 261 BUT - it does give me hope that the switch the flip overnight if there's a will on the local level to make it happen.

July 10, 2021    Milwaukee    United States ///  Maybe, probably
July 13, 2021    Washington, D.C.    Nationals Park /// Maybe not, 10 - 20% capacity?  Washington Nationals and DC United have one of the lowest authorized attendance for April 2021 games
    July 16, 2021    Minneapolis    Target Field  // Probably, I'm guessing this will be a 50 - 70%
July 18, 2021    Indianapolis    Lucas Oil Stadium /// Probably, less restrictions than other places my guess
July 21, 2021    Chicago    Wrigley Field /// Maybe but with heavy restrictions on crowd size
July 24, 2021    Detroit    Comerica Park /// Maybe but with heavy restrictions on crowd size
July 26, 2021    Toronto    Canada    Rogers Centre /// Nope

    August 11, 2021    Fargo    Fargodome /// Probably with little to no crowd restrictions;
August 13, 2021    Missoula    Washington-Grizzly Stadium // Probably with little to no size restrictions
August 16, 2021    Commerce City    Dick's Sporting Good Park /// Probably not
August 19, 2021    Los Angeles    Banc of California Stadium // Probably not

I believe Texas Rangers is doing a 100% crowd with mask policy in place for opening day and reduced crowd after that.  For those not aware, that doesn't amount to much as most baseball games have crowd sizes that encourage social distancing for much of the season.  There are 82 home games (roughly) in a normal baseball season.  Outside of opening day and the teams that don't come to town very often, I'd estimate actual crowd sizes to be between 20 and 40 percent for most of the first 50 games of the season (April - July).

My guess is that the concert industry is waiting to see how MLB does.

What was interesting about the video work? A lot of it was from static cameras!

Honestly, if you think all of these videos were good, I don't know what to say. The last one the band were falling asleep while playing!

Of course they are 'holding back' as all the professionally recorded footage from 2016 shows.

Exactly!  Since MTV-style editing became popular it's nice to see static camera angles and more time between camera changes.  I particularly liked the more recent ones that also highlighted the graphics and the different animation with each song.  My instinct is that they could have exclusively showed 2016 shows and it wouldn't change much.

I won't attempt to double quote here, but I'm pretty confident I've seen a bunch of pro-shot videos.  I don't need to tout my video library of recorded shows to prove that (it is 3.10 TB worth of pro-shot videos, just saying).

  5. Of all the topics, this is the one that surprises me the most.  I enjoyed every single one.  I blasted the heck out of the sound and really grooved to the music.    The sound was good, the video work was interesting.  Do you really think that they are holding back?  I suspect that's as good as it is, without spending the money for a professional (and expensive) official release.

  6. I enjoyed the first season of WandaVision and looking forward to the next series coming out at the end of the month.  I'm a fan of television series much more than films.  Maybe with Disney+ the production can more directly benefit from interest and we'll see more series like this, with tentpole movies coming out every one and a while.  I'm sure it cost a pretty penny to produce but I'd like to think the roughly 5+ hours of content was less than the 2 or 3 movies it would taken to get there.  More character and story's seems like a win win.

Texas lifting restrictions and mask mandates is going to end up setting the US way back again. Awesome.

I am going to go out on a limb and stay that is highly unlikely to happen.  We'll see.  If hospitals are over-run, the bodies are piling up, supply lines break down, and the zombies start coming over the wall.  Until then, your histarical perditions are noted

Between RussTCB and dontdamn attitude about Texas I think even further illustrates the deep divide that will likely only get worse.  If it were truly for political reasons it would have been lifted earlier.  Ok, fine.  It would have taken courage to shut down the economy in March 2020.  It will also take courage to re-open the economies and let life go to normal in March 2021.  No matter what anyone does, there will always be criticism and all that.  BTW, I suspect not much will change for most people.  The governor doesn't have control over any major city or private business.  Listening to the UFC 259 press conference, all of the majors have politely declined having a UFC PPV there.  I suspect not much as changed but the state has gotten out of the way of local jurisdictions from making their own decisions.  What mass gatherings have taken place in Florida that didn't follow CDC guidance?

Let's set all of that aside.  The groups and people recommending more lockdowns and delaying the return to normal life aren't impacted by any of their decisions.  I suspect no one from CDC recommending any of these health guidance will never lose a paycheck or worry about losing their job.  I suspect the elected officials and city majors will never worry about the same thing - while still enjoying their favorite restaurant or getting their hair done.

Give us a date on that happening, so that other people can say they 'believed all along' there wouldn't be one?

    Seems only fair!

This seems like a fun game.  I'll do my best to estimate based on how things played out with Chinese Democracy.

I believe we got a new batch of "leaks" in preparation for the summer 2006 tour.  Then two years later we got the full album.  If that's the case, Fall 2022.  UNLESS the two year countdown starts the first time they songs are played in concert, which hasn't happened yet.  Fall 2023 then.

BUT, if the Hard School and others link is like the live versions from Rock In Rio - then we're about seven years out, so Fall 2026.

    I'm being super serious.

Its a cool clip, but why people hoard this shit is beyond me. It's very very tiny niche circles where maybe it's worth money, and this stuff surely loses value the more GNR become insignificant within the industry and even fans not really giving a fuck now but enjoying snippets they haven't seen if it happens to pop up. That small niche circle must just get smaller and smaller too.

Cool clip, couldnt care less about the full show. Most of the performances then were same setlists throughout. I'd encourage hoarders to grow up and think the same lol, a grainy VHS show of tour we've all witnessed either in person or countless times through various media and bootlegs.

What is the nature of Guns N' Roses bootleg community  Is it primarily person to person trade?  Does the person with the tape sell it to a distributor who recoups the cost through expensive releases in Japan?  How do new recordings get out there?

I'm not going to call myself an expert on the topic but I am somewhat familiar with the Led Zeppelin model.  I want to say most releases originated in Japan and in at least the early to mid-2000's were sold via semi-private email groups.  The cost for a single show (2 or 3 discs) I believe was at least $100 USD or more.  Once you include limited edition box sets, the price could get really high.  Eventually all recordings end up on websites like The Traders Den.  Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but the online bootleg community for Guns N" Roses, at least in comparison to the Led Zeppelin's, Grateful Dead, or any artist you'd find on the Trader's Den (The Traders' Den) doesn't seem very developed.  Or at least not an obsession with maintaining quality and documenting and protecting the lineage of the tape.

Don’t know if it’s new to everyone else but it was new to me, I just heard Locomotive from Japan ‘92 as well. Otherworldly amazing.

A soundboard recording of Locomotive is out there?  I hadn't heard that.  Way cool.

What is the watermark in the top right of the video, the blue "S"?   The clip reminds me a lot of the other clips that might have aired locally that has made its way online.

Concerts will eventually return, as normal. Far too much money involved for them not to.

Live streams are not an alternative to actual live shows. They will do for now, but as a full time replacement, no. They also wouldn't sustain artists financially, so most bands would be finished if actual live shows were a thing of the past.

Let's pretend, for example, that tomorrow there are no restrictions and large gatherings and tours and concerts can resume as fast as they can be organized.

Let's examine very briefly what happened with the cancellations/rescheduling from last year.  How many people are going to be willing to pay good money for a concert weeks or months away, if there is a chance that it will get rescheduled and your money tied up on an event that may or may not happen?  What will the public's appetite be to pay for tickets almost a year in advance, which seemed to the be industry norm for the larger touring acts?

We can pretend that COVID-19 is a one and done, but infectious diseases like this have always been a thing.  I'm not an expert, but I'm seeing historical graphs with peaks and valleys that resemble the COVID-19 movement.  Does that mean winter/spring tours will be a thing of the past?  Will concerts be scheduled around summer months only in outdoor venues only?  What does that mean for the rest of the venues (I'd argue majority without having proof).

Economics aside, how long will the behavior that became a normal during this pandemic go away?  Will it go away?  Do you want to go to a public event with an inherent mistrust of the people around you?  It's stressful.  Air travel already is stressful and that's only being around the same dozen or so people?  What will it mean for people when it's a stadium or concert hall full of people?  I've spent all of my years not worried about such things, but the habit has already become ingrained.  It takes a lot of willpower not to be cautious around others.

100%, a traditional concert is best for everyone.  The bands I'm talking about are predominately jam bands who have built a fan base that supports video streaming of concerts.  They were also the first bands to do the drive-in concerts that were quite popular in many parts of the States.  There's money there but I'd say it relies heavily on the band already conditioning their audience to be there and supportive of streams (audio or visual).  Bob Weir has been working to create this concert/business model, I want to say, for the last ten or more years through TRI Studios.  The technology has reached the point where the ideas can be implemented.

  12. I remain optimistic about a lot of things but a return to normal likely won't ever happen - if I'm honest.

It's real interesting.  If I don't do the summer GNR show, I likely won't buy a ticket to an event for a while.  As long as people believe in magic masks and treat outsiders as a potential threat - I don't need that negativity.   I keep a good diet, work out everyday with cardio and strength, maintain a good sleep schedule, and keep myself overall healthy.  I'm confident in whatever happens next.

Fortunately, GNR is just one band of many that I like.  While a GNR show would be incredible, a great many bands I like are doing semi-regular live music PPV and archive releases.  So I'm ok with livestreams being my avenue for listening to live music.

  13.  I really dig the editing on this (and the previous).  In my opinion, so many live videos are poorly edited.  I like this stuff.  Videos for the screen and the in person audience is different than what a video release should be - in my opinion.  Very different requirements.

Really digging Live and Let Die.

Shadow of Your Love.  Nice.  I haven't really listened to this.  This live version inspires me to go back

    Black Hole Sun.  Killer

    Knockin' on Heavens Door.  Inspirational

    Paradise City.  Muy bien

I'm guessing this is it if they already got to Paradise City.  Here's to a new CD Q1 2021!

  14. A holy grail in my book would be more specific than hoping for something to exist.  The holy grail aspect is something that has more proof of existence.  Briefly thinking about it, I'll label it categories of things that have been partially released that would be great if there was more of the same, something talked about for release but never happened, or briefly available but pulled.

Partially been released but want more - more of the material used for Live Era 87 - 93.  Maybe a volume two with separate AFD and UYI era release.

Something talked about but never came to fruition - Perfect Crime documentary with highlights from various spots (to capture everything you could possibly want).

Briefly available but pulled - I never heard about a South American tour documentary but I do remember Estranged from the first Nu-GNR performance was posted on the official website.  More of that!
