  1. On 22 July 2020, there was no (public at least) indications that Taylor Swift had a new album coming out.  On 23 July it was announced and it was available a day later.  The Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions (Disney+ special) had a similar announcement to release timeframe.

Anything is possible.  Be like Taylor Swift :headbang:

  2. Watching this as I type.  My first thought is that they put more effort into the video angles used and the editing with this round.  I don't recall seeing the video screens for any length of time previously - I appreciate that.   I really enjoyed the song selections and sound. I thought the performances were great all around.

Willis1988, I attributed that as an editing choice to showcase the main video screen and not really to avoid Axl close-ups.  I'm fairly confident in saying, home video feed and in stadium video feed are entirely different.  The in-stadium feed would be for the folks in attendance who can't see the fine detail (Axl close-up).  They wouldn't have any difficultly seeing the primary video screen with all the effects.

Chinese Democracy is 12 years old today! Still we wait for that elusive follow up...

By comparison, the same amount of time (just about, anyway) has passed between CD's release and now, as there was between Slash leaving and CD coming out...

That is bonkers to think.  The band played new tracks, what, four or five years after Slash left?

That would be the same equivalent of a new song being played in 2013 or so - which definitely has not happened.  I believe the VH1 Behind the Music had a line about how GNR could have been the new Rolling Stones.  Can you imagine if GNR had that kind of work rate?

The issue with telling mgt about the leaks and where they are located is that he will organise for a banned member to comb through youtube and flag that content so noone has access to those uploads.

The rest would cause me to rant to him about the bands so called communication  avenue (that is reddit) .

Who or who is in your avatar?.

I would see it more in the realm of being sarcastic.  Another similar example might be telling Prince Management (when he was alive) that someone's playing his music in the background of a completely unrelated video.  Like a scavenger hunt for the peeps that are into that sort of thing.

The avatar is Robert Johnson, evidently only the 3rd known photo of him, just recently found.

Im very surprised with the prices. Im getting tgecGA diamond tickets which is right in front of the stage for 245.00. The diamond tix i got in 17 were 379.00.

If your VIP tix includes meeting fernando, be sure to give him a punch in the nose and say " the mygnrforum says hi".

Punching him in the nose would get your arrested and probably banned from the arena or future GNR concerts.

I'd tell him how much I've enjoyed the leaks over the past few years - especially Hardschool, Perhaps, State of Grace, and all of the demos.  I'd tell him how all of that and more is freely available on youtube and multiple other sites - and probably thank him for being so supportive of that community as the actual band is reluctant to make money.

    That's what I'd do.

  6. My original account was username Spike Killer.  I don't think I did anything stupid?  But that was a long time ago.

I'm 99% percent I registered it to my college email address (I think).  Pretty sure I haven't used that since 2010.

Is there any way to recover that account?

Anything to make the discography look better. It's like shaving your pubes to make your dick look bigger

As long as we're going down that route, I would think it would be closer to pills and saline injections to make it look bigger.

Locked n' Loaded did add a few songs from Marquee Club 1987, 1986 Sound City Sessions and even more.

We can only hope that these re-releases (Locked n' Loaded, Greatest Hits LP) are just the tip of the release strategy.  For too long GNR fans have gotten the shaft.  It's really nice when these releases come to fruition.

  8. I hope at some point someone writes a book about the "why" of Guns N' Roses.  I can think of so many great rock n' roll bands that have put more effort into making money off their efforts.  Hell, Led Zeppelin has done more to exploit its catalog than GNR.  It's baffling.  I don't want GNR releasing things as recklessly as The Who - making each compilation increasingly less important.  But, they can be like Led Zeppelin.  I'd be ok with that.

My bias tells me that there's money to be made selling their efforts.  I might be wrong but I don't think I am.

...and while the bombers fly over, Londoners saying "it's all nonsense, the media just want us to believe we're under attack, they say it's a big problem but I've never been hit by a bomb and I don't know anyone that has."

Mind you, there were a few (maybe one!) posters on here accusing anyone of suggesting any of the dates this year may not happen as "scaremongering" and "haters". I seem to remember certain users being very vocal and aggressive about it!

They all disappeared/have gone very quiet on the subject in the last six months!

I don't think those are fair comparisons.

I  think you can maintain that COVID-19 is very dangerous and people in high risk categories should be protected at all costs,

    And also

+ Recognize that it's become intertwined in various political statements.  All public gatherings are not treated equally.  You can't condemn one while turning a blind eye to others.

+ If hospitals/institutions receive funding based on the # of COVID-19 deaths - then you can't discount the probability that the number of deaths are being inflated or the cause of death being attributed to COVID-19 when it might be very possible that the person would have died regardless.  If there's no faith in institutions of any kind - how can you believe anything?

Anyway.  I'm really looking forward to concerts next year.  If NJPW can make live events with crowds work - so can the rest of the world (with six months or more to plan for them)

  10. Guns N' Roses cares for their fans - in their own special way.  GNR recognizes that money doesn't grow on trees - and by providing as little opportunities for the masses to spend money on the band, they have more they have to spend on other things.

At least the difference between 2020 and 2002 conversations is that we can talk about Chinese Democracy as an album that actually exists.
