Both of them were a good choice
-
Nobody has to like Slash's output and songwriting (I do), but his live skills are so much better these days, thats for sure.
-
Maybe all AL songs live?
-
Almost all of them

"Civil War" Myles killer
I guess it is song he most like sing of GNR. Dont you think?
I think he likes SCOM the most.
-
Great fuckin'show. I'd wish them to play By The Sword instead of You're A Lie, though
-
Slash is really misusing Myles. I recently got into Alter Bridge and Myles sounds so much better on those songs than he does on Slash and Apocalyptic Love.
Don't agree. Slash doesn't say to Myles what to do. If someone is misusing Myles voice, than its Myles himself.
-
No he can't. No one comes close to Axl if he is in good shape, when it comes to perform GNR-songs
Axl is Axl. His voice is unique. But I haven't heard him do a perfect performance of any song since the 90s.
Myles on the other hand nails every song every night.
I saw newGuns in 2010 and imo Axl was amazing. I've seen many videos on YT and thought Axl was partly horrible, but at this particular show I went to he amazed me.
Myles does a great job. He's got an incredible range but I'd rather hear Axls voice on Guns songs.
Don't get me wrong, if I could choose to attend one of the shows of newGuns or Slash with Myles and the Conspirators, I would choose Slash's show by all means.

Who cares about sales. Isn't the musical output more important? Still, Slash doesn't reach 174,000 copie sales in his first week of an album release. Worldwide maybe

I strongly doubt Myles could hold a candle to Axl's coma or locomotive. Wouldn't work.
It's not about holding a candle, or a jockstrap.
It wouldn't sound good IMO. Axl songs, Axl vocals and lyrics.
Disagree. SCOM and Rocket Queen for example are Axls lyrics as well.
Btw... Axl lyrics? yes.
Axl vocals? also.
Axl songs? no. I would say GNR's.

Is Lady Gaga a good singer? Never heard anything from her.
I think she's a good performer.
-
Slash has been praised by many guitar Gods and you still think he sucks.
No, I don't think he sucks. In fact I love a good portion of his work (even with VR and some songs off of his solo career).
Ashba is shit, sorry.
I'm not gonna deny that, you don't need to be sorry for that.
Yes, they are TO ME. Better now?
Yes.
So its a fact because you tell us?
To be technically better does not mean to be an overall better guitar player. Thats for sure.
But in that case it doesnt matter because its all about personal taste.
You like Rons playing? fine. I speak for me and I could puke all over when I hear him fuckin' up the songs with his style. Does it matter if he does it technically perfect? Not for me.
I think his style destroys the songs. It doesnt fit in, in my opinion
It's a fact because it is well played from a technical point of view. And a few of you are trying to point out that he's a shredder, which he is not. He doesn't play the old songs badly (i.e.: he can't play that stuff), he plays them his way. For the most part he sticks to the way the old material was recorded. He doesn't overplay others songs imo, he simply doesn't want to play them exactly like they were played nearly 30 years ago. I happen to love how he added his style (a mix between modern rock and classic rock/metal imo) to the songs, you don't. That's cool. But don't tell me that he can't play or plays the old material badly.
I just don't like the way he plays that songs. I know that he could do it otherwise, but he doesn't, so I say he plays shit. Thats all. From a technical point of view he may plays his parts perfect, but his style isn't right for old GNR songs in my opinion. Thats all I said. So when he metabolizes songs and solos that I used to love, to something that I can't enjoy, than for me it's badly, sorry.
-
I think these songs aren't easy to play, even for GNR back than. Axl had his problems with the vocals (at least during the end of Coma) and instrumentally its not so easy aswell. I remember to have had read something like Izzy complained about the complexity of coma.
-
No he can't. No one comes close to Axl if he is in good shape, when it comes to perform GNR-songs
But still, Myles does a great job
-
The truth is Ron covers Slash (very badly).
How in the earth Ron covers Slash badly? He does a much better job, that's a fact. More accurate, more consistent, etc. If you don't like it, cool, but don't tell me he plays it badly because you'll look really pathetic. He plays his solos flawlessly even if they're not note for note.

Ron suffers from Guitar tourette's.
Yeah, he is up there with Fink
-
anyone else likes Far and Away the most? What an amazing outro solo. I've got to rewind it all the way
-
Wow, so we're talking just about technical stuff. If thats the case you're right. For me the music is more important and i just can't stand it when Ron abuse the solo parts, especially on nightrain.
By the way, without Slash there would be noone who covers his stuff
-
Uh, you know they are not a piece of shit.
They are. Deal with it.
Well, Ron can play any member of that band under the table any time that he wants to. Same with Richard. Tommy absolutely slaughters the bassist. Do you even know the bassist's name? Never mind, nobody cares. Slash is just lucky that DJ is in the band so people have a reason to miss him. Nobody with a brain would otherwise.
Deal with reality.
Yeah rons better then Slash
Slash is just lucky that DJ is in the band
Read the review pal better then the cover cover band with half the members
Gnr sucks theses days has since 98 the
Hahaha "pal". I don't know shit about cover cover cover whatever the fuck you were trying to jibber there, but let's see Slash cover Ron.
lol why would he want to play that shit dumb arse
Isn't that the excuse for every moron on earth when they can't handle the truth? Sure is.
The truth is Ron covers Slash (very badly). Slash aint got any reason to cover something Ron did. Not an excuse, just the truth. deal with it.
-
Ceasefire between Axl and Slash. Not a reunion but an Axl feature on Slash's new album and maybe otherwise as well, if Axl puts out something again.
-
I'd like to hear 14 Years and Dust N' Bones.
By Snakepit I would rather hear Back And Forth Again
-
I dont care about pyro, effects or big screens, fuck it, its a rock and roll show, not a circus ;-)
In fact I love the rawness of small venues, especially when a great live band performs their show.
2010 I saw GNR. It was awesome, too. But it was a big venue and I was too far away from the stage. I prefer the smaller ones so I go for Slash.
Besides, his guitarplaying was technically never as perfect as it is now.
Slash to get star on Hollywood walk of fame
in 2012
Posted
First of all, I don't think Axl would enjoy to get a star. Same with Izzy.
Axl isn't present enough in public imo, whether he diserves a star musically or not.
