Wow... anyone have any downloads from those pages? A lot of stuff there I haven't heard...
-
Hey guys. I bought more stuff today and thought I'd share. I also have a few questions on some.
My first thing is the sealed Chinese Democracy CD I got with the BestBuy sticker for $2.99. Is that a deal?
The second, is the Use Your Illusion 1 CD with the Alternate Explicit Content sticker and on the Disc it says "Promotional". Anyone know anything about this and how much it's worth?
Third, is my 45 You Could Be Mine and Civil War Single. It is in the original Geffen sleeve. Any info and what this is worth? I paid $4.99.
Fourth and last, are these cassettes. I already had the AFD one and picked these up today. I payed $1 a piece.
the cassettes are real cool just to have, had so many of each over the years.
does your lies cassette have the nakes chick on the inside sleeve or is it sealed?
good shopping!
My Lies CD does. The cassette is not sealed, let me go check it now. Yep, she's in there. I also bought the cassettes just because they are cool to have. The artwork on them is a little different then the CDs and Vinyl. Besides my single I don't have any other GNR vinyl

Hell yeah bootlegs were easier to get. There was a vinyl shop by me,I shit you not, had anything n everything you wanted, any band, they had it!
Place was called Flips records, in Pompton Lakes NJ. I used to take the bus there, good fn' times!
This was before the internet, as well. But yeah under the circumstances it was easy if you had a good record shop near by.
Damn... I would have bought a lot of stuff back then. Now it is so hard to find bootlegs... what you speak of would be a dream come true for me!
The LALD single you have is the Germany release. The SFTD single you have is the US release, which was issued with white cases.
Germany? That's really weird... found it in a record shop in Appleton Wisconsin. I thought it was the UK release because I thought I saw another like it. Any idea on what it's worth? I also have some more stuff to post, and one I think might be worth some money.
I had/have a nice collection...back them I bought alot of import posters n stuff,my room was plastered.and alot of t-shirts
What t shirts did you have? I have the circle with guns n roses. I also have the UYI 2 shirt. I am trying to get my hands on the "Coma" 1991 tour shirt now. That will be my first REAL GNR tour shirt.

I don't know, but would love to hear the new version. I think Oh My God is a great tune and it'd be neat to hear other tracks like it.

Wow that's really cool. We're bootlegs more commen and easy to get then? Now it's very hard to find bootleg CDs....

No! I really dont think it'd be good. I want to hear more of the style they have done with Chinese Democracy and whatever they had in 1999 like Checkmate.

Second song on my SFTD single is just some orchestral piece from the film ???
Yep. Nothing special, not even Guns N' Roses.
Yes the four songs were from the June 28th show at the Marquee in 87'.
The demos were the Rumbo tapes. I was 13/14. Lost em ten years later. You have no idea how happy I was to see that a company made a component that could record a cassette tape to a computer, because one of the first things I did whenI got a computer n surfed the net was look for GnR music. I found the Rumbo tapes the Marquee show n every other scrap of Gnr that was there, I was in heaven lol good fuckin times!!!
Were the Rumbo Tapes on cd, cassette, or vinyl? It's so hard to find GNR vinyl bootlegs now days.

I own that live and let die, I think the live version is from the mtv awards via satellite cant remember the show though
(Track 2 recorded live at Wembley Stadium, London on August 31, 1991.)
That was back when MTV played kickass tunes and awarded the rock genre. I remember watching that live
the single is legit, I bought it when it came out. it looks alot like the boxset cds but is not from the set.

here is the shadow of your love you have too:
I also have the other single you have in a black case though...
stuff has been in boxes for years, I should dig em out. I remember buying them back when they came out, there were tones of singles released around UYI it was crazy, some of them imported and I paid a high value on them at the time.
good buy on your part, great prices!
I think the Live and Let Die CDs we have might be UK ones. I guess with the Sympathy for the Devil it all depends which one you have. Those were the only singles I saw. If there were more I would have bought them in a second. I asked the clerk if he knew about anymore and he said a guy traded a bunch in and whatever is there is there. I wish I would have been able to get more but those were the only 2 left. Those YouTube videos are the ones from the LaLD cd I have.
Nice, I remember seeing that LaLD on Mtv as well, somewhere in Europe? Cant remember exactly.
I also remember I had appetite demos way back in like 1990, along w 4 song from the Marquee. Its so easy, knockin, Shadow,n Whole Lotta Rosie. I ll never forget the first time hearin Axl say " alright this is our single thats out now, this is called Its So Easy!"
Were they from bootlegs? If so which ones?
-
The video shoot was 10/10/89 but they did have a party for the EP xmas 1986 and that was not taped
\Ok. LLaS makes sense for 86'. The video for Its So Easy was filmed at the Cathouse, when they did the warm up gig before the Rolling Stones shows.I was wondering if there was an audio recording of it, or a video of the whole show.
There is a video of the whole show.
Was it one of the shows you taped Marc?
-
Is this what your looking for? If you want to spend $10, you can buy the full concert off www.gnrfarm.com.
-
The Rolling Stones shows were '88 I believe. So it had to be a date in 1988. Let me look I might be able to find something.
-
The LaLD one Im not sure, and I have the same white case w my SftD single.
What show is the live version of LaLD from?
It doesn't say. Honestly, it sounds like a studio with the audience over dubs (like Live Like a Suicide). I can upload the .mp3 if you want. At the beginning of Shadow of Your Love, Axl says "Wake up! Time to Play!"
-
Hey everyone! I just recently picked up some CD's, and had a few questions. The first one is a Live and Let Die CD single. I couldn't find it for sale anywhere or find any info on it. It looks different from all the others I have seen for sale.
The second, is the Sympathy for the Devil Single. Did a lot of the CD's have white cases?
-
Hey Marc, in the link I posted above about the Cathouse, Riki says Guns played a set for their EP release. Is this when they recorded the video for Its So Easy? And more importantly is there any audio. That show in the video looks freakin awesome!!
By EP, I think she is talking about Live Like a Suicide. Did they record any music videos in 1986? If I knew the date for the show I bet I could find some audio. And what video are you talking about?

Thanks for the report.
And no, it's not Satanisk Slakt or axl8302 - it's someone with a hangup over the last administration as far as I can tell.
Is there any way a restriction can be placed on all new accounts that prevent them from inserting pics, either for a fixed period of time or until the account is approved by Admin?
i was wondering the same thing. like you have to have 400 posts or something
No... that's not a good idea. I posted pics and videos for some of my first posts. If I wasn't able to post them, I probably would have never came back here. Not everyone here is a perv, like these people LOL.

I am going to upload more now, but I have something I would like someone to shed some light on. The Your Looks Are Gone song I have says its from The Cathouse, March 1984. Does ANYONE know for sure anything about this song? I have heard multiple things that it's fake, and also some that it is real. Honestly it is very hard to tell. In some ways it sounds like Axl singing, but sometimes it doesn't sound like him at all.
fake as fuck, man
Are you sure on that? The only reason I think it might not be fake is because it sounds a bit like Axl. The reasons I think it might be fake are more numerous when I think about it, such as how there was never any track named Your Looks Are Gone ever mentioned anywhere else. Maybe Marc can confirm if it is real or fake?
Was the Cathouse even around in 84', I dont think it was but I might be wrong bout that.
http://www.cathouseh...om/history.html
cool read, it was founded in 1986.
I'm not sure. If it wasn't, that could prove that the track is fake right there. Still, I would like to find out what band this was if it isn't Hollywood Rose.
-
Looks like an ok band. I'd go! Sounds like a lot of fun!
-
I was also thinking 2014. I just hope it's not going to be like Axl saying "Yeah it'll be out soon", "We are working on it, maybe this year!" like during Chinese Democracy. I want him to really tell us no not for a while or yes very soon now. I would rather have this instead so I don't get my hopes up and it doesn't happen.
-
I actually think it sounds pretty cool. I might consider buying this actually...
-
Not the worst. I still like the original better, but it is neat to hear a different version of it.
-
As much as i'd love it, I don't think so.
Estranged Axl & Fink + 1999 sessions?
in 2013
Posted · Edited by jman2000
All the 1999 and Chinese Democracy sessions. In 1999/earlier they almost re recorded all of Appetite for Destruction except 2 tracks. I don't remember what these 2 were though. They re did a lot of songs.
We Where Lying? Seven? I Declare? I heard I Declare on YouTube before and sounds like a fake. What is We Where Lying?
