After the last few shows of 2019 and 2020 I was 100% against buying tickets again. I got a great show in 2017 and didn't want to ruin that memory. After the first few shows this year I stood by that decision.
Well.. they've changed my mind. Axl sounds much improved. There might be less rasp but his voice is much stronger, more consistent. The band have never sounded better, they've released 2 songs and actually played them live, and they rotate the setlist. I'm sold.

Loved hard skool. It's a hard song to sing and Axl gave it his all, no complaints from me.

Axl sits down at his piano as the crowd anticipates "November Rain."
Crowd: "Wait, what's this?"
"Perhaps I was wrong ... when I didn't see you ... hey, HAAAAAyyyyyyyy."
I love that song. I'd be happy to hear that 👍

This is a management crew who literally hires young female models, ushers them out near the front row, groups them together and then snaps their photos so they can make people think the young and the beautiful attend the concerts on all their social media outlets.
Nothing surprises me.
Are they taking applications?

Yeah, he does come across as someone full of himself.
Absolutely. I used to watch him years ago and he would shit on Axl all the time. But I guess it's cool to like Guns again

Agreed.
Is Axl AN icon? Yeah. Anywhere near the level of someone like Elvis or Liberace? Not even close.
I don't think there can be mythical icons like Elvis in the modern era, with how technology has changed the world and how quickly music changes and trends go by. However I think Axl on a level that's as close as you can get as a living person.

Did you guys watched Paradise City from last night? Man, that`s 2016 level for sure!!
My favourite part was the slurred "surgeon general says it's hazardous to breathe" line
Otherwise a great paradise city.

That's a good price, if you can, go for it. Just remember the GNR motto... Expect nothing...

Thats fucked up, wheres the megaphone rants when we need them?
And all they need was like 3 minutes. Fucking festivals. I'm sure Guns would pay the fine.. isn't that what they usually do when they go over the curfew?

The whole incident kinda confirms for me that at least Slash and Duff don’t have Axl on their in-ear monitors
Highly possible yeah. Tbf what they need to hear is themselves and the drums.

Listening to Jungle again I'm surprised to be saying the ending screw up was the band's fault Axl was in time with Frank and Duff, don't know what happened to slash?

Axl's definitely sounding stronger every show but putting vocals aside, can we take a minute to appreciate how fit he's got? He's moving around like 2010 Axl.. 11 years later. It's great to see some energy again.

Obviously, the cell phones aren't doing a some kind of reverse autotune on Axl's voice and creating "Mickey" that didn't exist. What I'm guessing is that the audio processing in a cell phone is trying to (under non-concert circumstances) record clear voices and minimize background noise. Since the phone doesn't "know" you are recording a rock concert, it "highlights" the vocals more and suppresses some of the sound from the instruments. Basically it alters the mix a bit and makes the voice more noticeable.
Ding ding ding. Not to mention a microphone on a phone isn't going to pick up the same frequencies or record in the same quality. I use my phone with my band all the time in our rehearsals and it's the same.

Strong argument.
Can't the people who are excited be excited without someone crapping all over them?

Last year they rehearsed pretty tied up, hard school and think about you so we could get some deep cuts.

TWAT sounded great. Axl actually used the dynamics of his voice properly - it sounds controlled rather than weak.
Not the worst Slash solo but it's just not right, he either needs to full Slash it or learn the Buckethead solo... the half and half just sounds strange.

For a minute I thought that was a reference to Fallout New Vegas

I wonder who mixed this one because it's far, far better than any of the previous selects. Really enjoyed this one.

I really do not understand how any of the selects (Houston the exception) got released in the first place.
Axl obviously was aware enough about them seeing as he's barely shown on screen at all, how can he be ok with sounding that way?
I can only wonder if they're trying to manage expectations.
As for the sound most of it is really poorly mixed and extremely unprofessional.

He's probably socially distancing from his computer so he doesn't catch a computer virus.
