Imagine, just for a moment, Axl says ok people pick a song or two and we gonna play it in concert and in the year 2022 you guys REALLY would want lyrics like:

I agree that Breakdown has better lyrics than Pretty Tied Up, but a song is more than just it's lyrics.

Breakdown has an interesting song structure, but it doesn't really have great memorable riffs if you ask me.

For me Pretty Tied Up is instrumentally pretty much Rock n' Roll perfection.

I like Breakdown in theory more than I actually like it in practice. It's a good song, but it doesn't get me pumped like Pretty Tied Up. Even emotionally songs like Estranged and Yesterdays touch my soul more than Breakdown.

But these are subjective things. I might like Breakdown more if I liked country music more. And I do actually like the song, but not as much as these other remaining songs.

The views on this forum are generally out of sync with the average standard GNR fan.

Of course they are, because most of us are not average standard GNR fans. Average casual fans don't usually spend time on message boards.

Hard core fans tend to always prefer some lesser known songs over the biggest hits.

It's just how it is. Look at any fan forum of any band or artists. The hardcore fans always tend to prefer deep cuts. GnR fans are no different.

Sweet child that early??? 🤣 Sorry but you're just wrong if you voted for it, voted purely based on overplaying it which does not equal a bad song.

To be fair, nobody is voting for the objectively worst songs here. People are voting for their least favorite songs, which is entirely subjective. And it doesn't really matter why they don't like the song. Even if it's just because it's overplayed, it's still their least favorite song, so it's an honest and valid opinion.

That being said I agree that SCOM was voted out too early. But this is democracy. And it's interesting to see what songs people like and dislike the most here.

You are quoting me, but I didn't say that, that was "opalho".

Yeah, sorry about that! I meant to quote opalho, but I accidently quoted it from your post.

I tried to fix the mistake, but apparently opalho has now deleted the original comment.

This is a pretty awkward situation. Not sure what I should do. Maybe I'll just delete the quote part of my post.

  5. I honestly don't think that most people prefer the Village leak version. It's just that people who are disappointed are always the loudest, because people tend to complain more than they tend to praise things.

When you're happy with a product you tend to praise it maybe once or twice and then you move on. You don't come to a forum to praise it over and over again. Bitter people tend to remind everyone about how much this and that sucks. People who are satisfied tend to just live their lives.

Besides, most people haven't even heard the Village leaks and they love Hard Skool. Just look at the comment section of the Hard Skool video on Youtube. It's mostly just positivity.

So yeah, of course we want CD2. Some people will hate the album but who cares. You can never please everyone.

And you seriously want a whole TEN YEARS for one of these songs to come to fruition?

What are you talking about? Who said that I want to wait ten years for these songs? I believe that a big portion of these songs will be released within the next ten years.

But if you ask me what I want, I want them to be released tomorrow.

It's unlikely either of us will remember this in ten years.

Also, you don't 'win' a bet for a singer singing a song in ten years.

I don't think the songs exist.  You do.  They are gonna release the songs.  They are gonna be exactly as I've been saying (Atlas/Perhaps/maybe General).  They won't include anything else.  There will be no full album of new material.

    Can't be clearer than that.

Oh, I will remember this bet ten years from now, although we probably don't need to wait that long. But if you're right, you will get your money.

We don't need to go over the terms of our bet again. We already did that when we made the bet in that other thread.

I win if they release a song with full vocals by Axl, other than Atlas, Perhaps or The General. Covers remixes and other weird Blood in the Water type stuff doesn't count. We're talking about a proper song with a chorus and verses etc... I know the deal, you know the deal, we don't need to go over this again.

Time will tell, who wins the bet.

Wasn't your terms within 10 years

Now Slash has said they are releasing the songs Axl has, why don't we revise that?

Yes, they're releasing the songs that Axl has. And according to Slash they'll make an album out of all the songs eventually. That's exactly what I've been saying.

So what do you want to revise?

Oh - so you're expecting Me & My Elvis, Zodiac, SoulMonster, Leave Me Alone (or other unheard stuff) etc to come out in these batch of songs Slash has been speaking out?

Or do you think it's gonna be Atlas and Perhaps?

I wouldn't be surprised if the next couple of songs were Atlas Shrugged and Perhaps, but eventually yes, I'm expecting to hear Soulmonster and other unheard stuff.

We've made a bet about this, remember?

More evidence that an album isn't even close to fruition. When you're talking about "probably" releasing a couple new singles, an actual new album doesn't just emerge right after that.

I'm just happy that they're releasing music. If we get one GNR single every year from now on, that's much more than certain people would have expected from this band.

  12. Every time a new Terminator movie is coming, people are speculating if GNR could be involved. Apparently we're now doing it even when there's no new Terminator movie in sight. 😄

A more interesting topic would be, what real upcoming projects could possibly include new GNR music. For example GTA 6 is coming. GNR music has been in GTA games before and Axl has even been a voice actor for San Andreas. The game might be coming out in 2024-2025 and we know that GNR is releasing music in a very slow pace. So could Tommy "the nightmare" Smith make a return in GTA 6? Having new GNR music in GTA 6 would be one of the best ways to promote the album.
