The argentina team is ace, man. Messi is A-game. There's nothing between the Brazilian and Argentinian teams. The thing is, there is between our people. I'm not saying it's one sided, we're as low as they are when we're "on top". It's that the amount of mockery we'll get from Argentina if they're the champions in the WC we're hosting would be eternal. It would be something written in stone forever and, in any friendly or non-friendly mockery between Brazilians and Argentinians, it qould come up for sure. Germany, on the other hand, beat us fair and square, and even having technically raped us, treated us with respect and has never had any rivalry with Brazil, ever. That's why most are probably rooting for them. There's a meme being posted around here in Brazil through Facebook and Whatsapp with the image of moses parting the red sea saying: "May argentina win the WC hosted in Brazil! May our humiliation be complete!" and people are laughing their asses off. It's not that big of a deal. It's just, we'd rather not live through this ha!

I don't deny anything about Germany. I've said more than once they are the greatest team and if they win, it is very well deserved. However, final didn't happen yet. You don't know what Argentina could pull in order to win. They didn't chicken out before Holland (in spite of everybody predicting they would lose) and will not melt before Germany either. They are professional players, know very well who their opponent is.

If there's something this WC have taught us all is to never underestimate a rival, never confuse what the country is in general for what a sport team is and to be humble. Never never chant victory before time. Argentina passed every stage being humble and growing as a team each time. Maybe that's their difference with Germany. Germans set foot on BRA soil as the strongest team and have remained like that til the end. That confidence is good. But I see Argentina growing their confidence as well.

Netherlands was indeed poor this match, but they've had some really good matches this World Cup. I'm struggling to think of a great overall match with Argentina. There was a great goal from Messi in the Iran match, but overall they weren't great. The Switzerland match was dull as shit. Hats off to the defence of both Argentina and the Netherlands, they both played well in this match, but I expected much better from Messi and Robben.And I think if they were that keen on penalties they wouldn't used up all their subs without letting Krul on.

Just one thing: Argentina didn't struggle with penalties on any ocassion, neither they were about to be kicked out of the WC like Holland was.

Thing about that is, we know Holland can handle it. But what happens if Argentina fall behind? That's uncharted territory for them.

Can't respond to that.... I think most of this has to do with the head.... Like yesterday with Brazil.. that result cannot happen again. Something inside those players scalated so quickly that it demoralized them in the first 20 minutes.
