  1. I'm not really interested in this as a touring lineup. If Izzy and Duff were to write with Axl again, I would be all for it, but I'd rather have new music with the guys that are in the band right now than just touring with part of the UYI-era lineup. Plus, I wouldn't want to have them drop even more songs from CD. The highlight of the last residency for me was Prostitute.

If the focus is (even more) on the nostalgia playlist, people would still miss Slash and bitch about that, so I don't really see the point in that. Not if it's solely for touring anyway.

    This!

  2. The irony of this, is that neither of you realise how childish your exchange is. Even if you may point out factually correct information, none of you are 'right' because of the ridiculous way you try to use it.

" I understand you're angry because I wiped the floor with your flawed logic."

Don't think that I don't know that I'm treating with some kid on an ego trip. It may look childish, but I don't let people like that step on me and think they are THE UNTOUCHABLE SHIT. I'm on this earth to combat that kind of people. And probably that is my last response to that poor excuse for a human being.

I knew from minute one that I'm not RIGHT, as in, there is no chance that someone else has a different opinion and I am the only one who holds the truth. I just simply took a position, a side on this story and I defend my POV. I could go for the easy lane and say "yeah maybe he did forget, maybe he didnt", blah blah... I mean, nothing wrong if you choose to stand in the middle. It's not like a big deal of an issue. But since the topic is heated, I chose to give opinion and try to explain why I believe Slash is "guilty".

It gets big here because we only discuss GN'R and any event related to the band is magnified, but that is our choice of entertainment, we can't complain much.

Regardless of whether or not you were able to 'wipe the floor' with someone else's viewpoint, the only fact that really stands out is that you are not a good person at all. Something that is always lost on obnoxious little pricks who think its a sign of intelligence to suggest their reality is more than real than that of another person.

Yup. Could not have said it better :)

  3. It's not about doubting your own statements, it's just that your statements are all wrong. And why am I being insecure? I'm the one proving each one of your points to be wrong. You can stand still for it all you want, it doesn't change the fact that you're wrong. By pushing it, you're only making a fool of yourself and I'm certainly not the only one who sees it. ;)

And, where did I say it should be 50-50? The possibility of Slash being an asshole is there, and could be very high likely, but like I said before, there are no facts to back that up. You can't claim something it's impossible when there is a chance for the opposite, even if it's small.

My statements are not wrong and you don't prove jack poo-poo :) I'll tell you why....

At some point, in this thread, you decided to butt into a conversation I was having with some guys, where I finished my opinion with "impossible". Actually, the complete sentence was: "This is the second time Slash comments on Duff returning to GNR. It's impossible he doesn't know the name. Impossible". (page 16)

Of course, I was using the term mostly in a figurative way. I am naturally inclined to use hyperbole when I express myself. And I guess most people are not literal when they speak or write, specially when they are giving opinion or talking about themselves.

Later (page 20) you came and picked that one word to turn it into a battle of the logical use of logic and to intellectualize the topic. You said my statements were wrong and proceeded to explain the whole thing by using the "benefit of the doubt" and the "half-full, half-empty glass" system. Basically, you gave a free lesson of how there is a chance of Slash forgetting the name on purpose and how there isn't one.

    OK.

Two things: first, you can't label my opinion as write or wrong. Opinions are not right or wrong. Correct or incorrect. They are just opinions. You completely overlooked that, probably in your anxiety to lecture me. And that is the exact minute when you failed with your whole lecture. Because you started your reply with that authoritarian tone that I despise in people. Whenever someone talks to me like that, I automatically lose respect for any following word that comes out of their mouth.

Second, you took my expression literal and from there, you built up an entire lecture on something that has nothing to do with logic or mathematics. That's why I stand still in my statements because, even knowing there is a chance that he might forgotten the name or don't know who Tommy Stinson is, I choose to believe Slash does know the name and that he didn't mention Stinson on purpose.

That is MY opinion, that is my glass half-empty and I DO NOT give him the benefit of the doubt. I used the term "impossible" as a figure of speech, where in my opinion, the chances that I mentioned before are a 99% inclined to the side of the scale where he is guilty.

This doesn't make me better or worse than you. This does not make my opinions and statements WRONG. This does not put you in place to lecturize me in way for anything, because this is a discussion board where people discuss ideas and give opinion on GN'R facts, news, shows, albums, etc. Authoritarian tones and statements SHOULD NOT belong here.

I don't know who Mr. Maths is. If you say the same proof you have is the same I have, then you're agreeing that you're wrong. :rofl-lol: The difference between my statement and yours is that I never claimed it's impossible that Slash knew Stinson's name or that it's impossible that Slash said "what's his name" in a derogatory way.

Why would it be a fact that Slash knows who Stinson is? There is no evidence whatsoever that Slash knew his name, and even if he did, you have no reason to believe he didn't forget his name. I feel like I'm repeating myself over and over because you choose to ignore common sense. Oh, and where did I say it was not a mere speculation? I'm not the one claiming something "it's impossible".

I could never agree with you on being wrong, because unlike you, I'm not an egocentric jerk and I never put myself on a pedestal where I tell people their opinions are right or wrong. What I meant with that is that I could be as RIGHT OR WRONG as you. You choose to give Slash the benefit of the doubt. You say have no proof to believe otherwise and that you need an audio file.

Fine. I don't need an audio file. I believe the publication and the accuracy of the quote printed by the Daily Star. It doesn't make me wrong. It doesn't make you wrong to need an audio file. Its your opinion. It's my opinion. You are not more valuable than I am. Perhaps, in your selfish mind you are, but that's ok. I have no problem with that. I'm confident with myself as well.

Everything is about me. See how angry you are, it's actually hilarious. I mean, I understand you're angry because I wiped the floor with your flawed logic. I understand you're angry because I proved and keep proving you wrong every time you post.

"You have not proven my point wrong AT ALL" doesn't actually mean I haven't but keep living in denial. Just next time you come back, attack the argument and not the user -- unless you want to keep ridiculing yourself. ;)

    LOL

Everything is about you? wow.... YES.... probably, in your own pathetic and selfish world everything revolves around you and there's no room for anyone else... But not here and not with me, certainly. I don't know you and the only reason why I'm talking to you is because you addressed me like 3 pages ago and out of politeness, I'm replying. I dont know if you understand that...

Ummm...No. I'm not angry at all. Angry at some random unknown guy in a GN'R board? My gosh!

Just because I stand up and I have enough confidence to answer to each one of your provocations, mistreatments, understimations and humillitions you like to inflict on me and on several people in this forum, it doesn't make me angry. Nope, sir. You are mistaken and incorrect at that.

Finally, I'll let you think you have "wiped the floor" with my "flawed logic" because that's how you proceed with lunatics. You simply don't engage with their fantasies.

  4. The Chinese Democracy haters all have one thing in common, horrible taste in music. Shakira sucks. Bjork sucks. Unknown myspace rock bands suck. Chinese Democracy is the best album of the 00's, not the worst. In fact, one could make an argument that it's even better than Use Your Illusion I as a whole. Obviously November Rain, Coma and Don't Cry are amazing, but there are quite a few bad songs on that album, more than CD! There Was a Time, Better, Catcher in the Rye, and Prostitute are great songs and Shackler's Revenge, IRS, Street of Dreams, This I Love are good too.

    *my thumbs up your arse*

I edit other people posts because I am a pussy with no opinion of my own

  6. A great rock album.

I don't know why people think that these guys couldn't produce gold again.

    Axl is still Axl.

    Izzy is still Izzy.

    Slash is still Slash.

    Duff is still Duff.

Might as well just keep Frank and let Matt tour his solo album.

Take the four best Slash solo stuff - Anastasia and whatever else you people like.

Take the four best VR songs - Set Me Free, Fall To Pieces, etc (I hated that band, so not sure what their four best songs are).

Take the four best CD songs - Twat, Catcher, Better and Street of Dreams.

Then throw in two Izzy songs.

    That's a bad album? I think not.

    Sounds good in theory.

However, after all these years where most of them "tasted the honey" of being "leaders" of their own bands, I really doubt they'd want to share the spotlight with Axl again.

    I don't know. I respectfully disagree.

I think that all the guys would think it would be a "blast" to go record and tour together again - as long at Team Brazil wasn't involved and if Axl was playing nice.

"You wanna go write/record and tour with the band you were in that sold 100 million albums? Tour the world and play to sold out stadiums? And get paid 20-25 million bucks for two years of work?"...............I doubt Duff is going to turn that down so he can tour Loaded in front of 250 people a night.

Just my opinion though, I could be wrong!

    LOL

Yeah, I can definitely see Duff wanting back.... but I don't see Slash anywhere close to that, unless as you said, Axl would beg down on his knees. And that ain't happening, is it?

  7. A great rock album.

  8. 7/10 - nothing wrong with those choices, but they are kinda obvious choices so you lose points for that

    Pretty Tied Up

    Civil War

    Chinese Democracy (yeah what?)

6/10 - I dont like Chinese Democracy and Civil War, I've become fed up of it. It's not a tune to be played every day (sort of depressing and leads you to murder, apparently)

    LOL

    My choices:

    1) Coma

    2) Locomotive

    3) Catcher In The Rye

  9. So what's your excuse?

Btw, Laundry Service IS actually a really good album. Than again I'm actually a music fan. I prefer to look at what's good rather than what it's not.

And... Worst album of the 00's? It's clear that you're the biggest cupcake on this forum.

If CD is the worst album of the 00's than AFD is the worst album of all time. Followed by The White Album and Bat Out Of Hell. If you think you can be ridiculous I can top you any day of the week.

If for the cupcake CD is the worst 00's album, then Laundry Service is the CD of all time Shakira. Being "Dónde están los ladrones?" Shakira's AFD.

I wouldn't take serious the musical taste of a Grammar nazi, though ;)

  10. Once again you just proved you don't know what words mean. In this case, you have no idea what a fact is. It's not a fact that he knows Tommy Stinson's name, it's a possibility and it could very well be high likely. That said, "high likely" can't be a fact because there's always room for the opposite.

No amount of capital and bold letters will make your false statement accurate. In fact, it proves the complete opposite. Keep pushing it all you want, though. Just an observation, maybe next time try bolding "fact" instead of "it is".

No amount of intellectualization from your insecure self will make me stumble or even doubt one second my own statements, which are infinitely more accurate than yours. The mere fact that I stand still for something, that even in your cold appreciation is "high likely", distances me miles from the apath(e)tic likes of you.

The 50-50 comfort zone for an opinion is too easy and I leave it to the dull ones :)

A mere speculation on your part. What proof do you have that Duff said the name of Tommy to Slash? Let me see... eh, eeeh, yep, none. It doesn't matter how many years Tommy has been in the band, the possibility of Slash knowing all of that is there, nobody is saying "it's impossible", see? But it's not a fact, and it will never be -- unless Slash himself admits he knew his name, and even if that happens, it doesn't change the possibility of Slash just forgetting it when answering the interviewer's question.

A mere speculation on your part, Mr. Maths. The proof I have is the same proof you have of Duff NOT saying the name. LOL.

Slash forgetting Stinson's name does not eliminate the FACT of him knowing who Stinson is. Just like when you forget taking your viagra doesn't mean Viagra was not invented at all.

However, Slash did not forget the name. He was quoted exactly as he expressed himself.

The very fact (see, that's how you use the word 'fact' properly) that you needed to resort to personal insults and the use of :) twice, along with a quote from an Axl's song proves that you're grasping at straws. It usually happens when your point can be easily proven false. Let's see if you can't try better next time.

I use :) (and actually it should have been ) because that's my facial expression when I come across holier-than-thou individuals like you.

Intellectualizers like you, dull people like you, small people on an ego trip like you, will NEVER make me "grasp at straws" because before that happens I will certainly be dead from a laughter attack.

You have not proven my point wrong AT ALL. What you did is intellectualize and mathematize a latino soap opera only to make yourself believe you've just wrote 'The Poverty of Philosophy'. :rofl-lol:

  11. I am sorry but every time I am on here it is loaded with his political propaganda bullshit. No one comes here to see that. In fact his presence has very little to do with GNR's past (for a sort period of time). I know that I am not the only one sick of seeing him. We come here mostly for GNR related information. Sorum's twitter feed isn't even close to that. It is purely political propaganda.

    Do you have Twitter account?

Try by blocking and muting his account from yours... Maybe that way you won't see his tweets on here.... just "maybe".

I'd be interested to know if this works. Don't think it will though.

Yeah, hehe, I was just throwing some idea that might cure his affection :P

Truth is I don't follow Matt Sorum so I don't know. I hardly pay attention to the Twitter thing, but I have silenced people before in that way, when someone RTs someone else you don't like.

  12. So first Erin "looks like a trans" and is dressing too young; then there's a comment that she's close to 50 (...and?) and now she's "thin as a stick." She doesn't look dangerously thin and I'm sure that if she were any heavier, you'd have a negative comment about her weight then, too. Fine, you don't like her, we get it. That little girl is her daughter, not her granddaughter, BTW.

Morbidly fat and morbidly thin are two extremes of the same disease. It usually starts with a distortion of the kind "she doesn't look dangerously thin". I will always condemn whoever promotes one of the two.

No, I don't like what she looks like now, what's the problem?

  13. My post isn't about defending Slash, it is about defending basic logic and the futility of calling the possibility of what I just said as impossible :shrugs:

    basic logic?

ok, basic logic basically says that printed interviews conducted by professional journalists would never print out small mistakes made by an interviewee.

Slash was quoted exactly as he expressed himself, so there's no room for doubts and probabilities. He said what came out printed and we don't need an audio version to confirm it.

Mr. Slash did not forget a name, otherwise, we would have to unfairly assume the guitarist is suffering from memory loss and dementia. And that wouldnt be a nice assumption.

Specially because Mr. Slash was able to remember his friend Duff filled in for his former band GN'R, therefore he had a RECENT conversation in which Stinson's name came up in one way or another.

  14. IT IS a fact he knows Tommy Stinson name because it is IMPOSSIBLE he does not. LOL.

If there's someone from NuGNR Slash has heard his name more than Axl's name, that is Tommy Stinson and that name came from the mouth of Duff McKagan in more than one ocassion (not to mention the amount of years Stinson has been NuGNR bassist).

But you merely saying it is impossible doesn't make it indeed impossible. And so what if Slash has heard his name before? That doesn't mean that his name will 1. be remembered by Slash or 2. instantly recalled during an interview.

Was it an intentional dig? It could have been, but it could have not. I have my own opinion on the matter but the only fact is that nothing is fact in this case.

Your (and that's a plural, not attacking you personally) desperation to defend this musician clouds your ability to reason. You people do not reason when you try to defend the IMPOSSIBLE. Yaaaaaaaaay!! I said it again!! :hahafyou:

Should read and learn a bit more about RECENT MEMORY https://www.baycrest.org/MemoryandAging/Session_1/default_21.html

    Wouldn't harm your braincells, dudes....
