Great show, wonderful setlist, Axl had some very good vocal moments. Press reaction has also been great, pointing out that they started on time, played for 3 hours and praising both Axl and Slash's performance. The crowd was very pleased and comments were unanimously good.
My highlights: Reckless Life, Absurd and Hardskool.

Out of the hundreds of live versions of YCBM they could have chosen, they chose the one where Izzy completely fucks up the intro

Axl sounds great on SOD, his clean voice sounds very powerful on this leg, quite similar to 2002. I really hope they keep the song on the setlist and give the entire solo to Fortus

The quiet part at the bridge sounds like complete garbage because of Frank keeping time on the hi-hat. PLEASE FRANK STOP

Going Down with special guest Tommy Stinson (and Slash replacing BBF's parts of course)

No one but Robin can play it right, it has his style all over it. Such a beautiful solo

The vocals recorded in that song clearly were never meant to be on the final version. This is most notable on the very first few words of that song (I won’t be told anymore). They’re pretty obviously an error, or just wrongly-performed. The rhythm is completely different to how it’s actually supposed to be sung. I’m still convinced it’s the first time he ever sang it, for demo purposes, and he just never decided to do a final take.
I see no problem with the first line, it's just a different rythmic approach which to my ears suits the song very well.
How can we know "how it's actually supposed to be sung"?

Would have been a great opportunity to include anything new.
fuck, a remix album would be more than enough. This "band" is one major disappointment after another

I'm pretty sure there was a Robin Catcher solo, as Brian May joined because Axl was too attached to Robin's works.
About SOD: I believe the snippet we hear in the Boston 2002 promo (not the TV version, but the radio spot) has Richard's version of the outro solo.
You're right about Robin - it's the lead following Axl's vocals. But it also complements Bumblefoot solo - Robin enters at 2:47 in the album version. You can hear it too in the Brian May demo.
The SOD snippet sounds great, and it definitely has Richard solo on it. I hope we get that version someday

The guitar work on Rocket Queen sounds really really good. A proper mixing really makes a huge difference, sounds like a different band. Great job Team Brazil!

The guitar work on Chinese Democracy is great and far more interesting, imo, than any other GN'R album.

I don't think playing the songs on a lower key would help Axl. He would have to use his midrange on most of the songs, which would be even harder for him.
Axl keeps having an amazing vocal range, but he can't keep singing the way he did with ACDC or in 2010 on every show, it would destroy his voice. I'm sure he can do it on studio, though.

Why is the intro to Scraped so hated? It's short, unique, I like it.
I'd love to hear a vocals-only album by Axl, like what Bjork did with Medulla. Having the vocal range that he has, he could do some great experimental stuff with his voice.

Having the huge fanbase they have, GN'R shouldn't need a deal with any external label. Any decent management would find a way to make a lot more profit as an independent label and having a more direct approach to the fanbase relationship.
I mean, they could even record a whole album being each band member in his home studio, then mix it and release it. It really isn't hard at all.
There is no way any money issue is stopping them from working on new music. Lady Gaga just released her new album, and she probably is making more money that she would without COVID (considering the high rates of music streaming during lockdown).
GN'R is just so far from being a real band that I have lost all hope. Guess I'll just keep waiting for the next batch of leaks.

Any other cool or interesting details you recall of this song, and any others played? I heard they played Silkworms and If the World remix at that party. Would have been cool to know where the source was! I'm sure it was well protected though, and not just a CD player in a closet. Haha
There's a clip of Silkworms from the party too. You can tell it's been reworked from the leak we got, it's got more guitars and sounds very promising (for those of us who like the song..)

Slash is all emotion and melody it sounds to me.
Do you still believe that?
I get that feel when listening to the old stuff, but now his playing is completely different imo.

This band really seems to lack any cohesion. Slash's playing is all over the place and surprisingly sloppy.
I used to think that the problem with the previous soundboards we had was the lack of mixing, but no, it's the band.

When he got asked about why COVID prevented the band from releasing Hardschool, he said "I don't know".
While I appreciate his honesty, that just comes to show how disfunctional this "band" is.
