As long as Izzy doesn't say anything, he can still be the fantasy Izzy that people here make him out to be. What do we know for a fact about Izzy? That he left them before, that he doesn't tour (extensively) and that he doesn't like the circus of a giant GNR world tour.

But somehow people are convinced Izzy's not on a huge world tour just for monetary reasons  People believe what they want to believe.

And Axl saying Izzy's Izzy is twisted in something negative.

As for Duff: he's a great guy, he tours, is nice to fans, does charity, releases new music, talks to the press. But no, here, he is the big evil guy they have to shit on 24/7 while Izzy who's gone AWOL for years, is god. Lol. This isn't a knock on Izzy, btw, you don't have to hate Izzy to like Duff/Axl/Slash/whoever. Just like you didn't have to pick either Slash or Axl's side back in the day. You can just like them all.

Duff is a good dude and he’s held to a high standard. That’s why no one is buying the recent dribble he’s been sprouting.

I don't no why some of you get court up in this stuff, given its does not effect you or is it personally being directed at you.

Don't take things personal. If you don't like Duffs opinions, that's all good.

It seems you guys want band members to speak, but only what some of you want to hear.

You people cannot control what Duff does or says, just like he cannot control what you post about him.

The funny thing is, Duff won't be wasting his time on worrying about what a few people post on a fan forum.

As you can see by his twitter account he is getting on with life.

Duff would be laughing his arse off at some of you being so concerned about what he is saying.

Have you not heard of the meaning, of having the last laugh.

Well an interesting thing that came out of the interview is that Duff knew the fan base were referring to Axl as “woke Axl”

that would suggest he’s well aware of what’s said on here!

Did anyone else pick up on that during the interview?

When you name your kid Axl or Slash?

Because I know there are people out there who have done that.

    Guilty!

My sons middle name is Axl 😂😂😂😂

when you pay $1500.00 for a signed Axl, Slash Duff guitar and it has Franks sig too which irks you but you pay it for it anyway!

  4. If Izzy was to have any involvement I think it would be on a minimal writing level. If anyone is expecting Izzy or Steven to have a major input of any description than they are most probably going to be disappointed.

I honestly see no reason (from Axls POV) to drop any of the current members. They’ve just completed a 2.5 yr world tour! Successful as hell. There’s nothing to suggest that an album with this lineup wouldn’t do well!

As stated on here a million times before, outside of the hardcore element on these boards, no Izzy or Steven means nothing to majority of casual fans who would buy the album on iTunes or gladly part with another $200 bucks when they tour the album.

As Russ stated, it’s not 1987 anymore.

Personally, I’d love Izzy, Steven or Sorum to be included, but it’s time to be realistic and accept that it’s a major major long shot.

with fortus, frank and melissa the album will fail...so...

Pretty big call. How many people have been to see this lineup the world over?

Bottom line is this, Axl, Slash n Duff will generate more than enough interest for any album they drop to do alright.

The rest of the band could be slotted in with anybody and the average punter would still buy the album provided Axl and slash were on it!

  6. ^^^ I’m not sure why you’re arguing this point though? You want them to wheel out new music but you know deep down you’d probably be disappointed with it because it’s 2019 and in your own words, they’ve fucked up their prime and the boat has sailed??? So what’s the point of bothering with new music?

Hey... I’m not disagreeing, 94-2006 was the lost years where they could have reasonably released 3-4 more albums and dominated another 12 years and had a catalogue that rivalled anyone’s, unfortunately after 06, by the time Axl was spotted 4 years later he was completely past it! I still personally have no idea how he could go from being so fit, and the top of his game in 06 to what he was in 2010.

Anyway, the point is, everyone wants new music, but seriously, be careful what you wish for, it could seriously tarnish the reputation and if that’s the case, then not releasing anything new is perfectly good idea.

The mistakes that were made that matter the most were made 2 decades ago, not now. They’re a touring act, and pushing 60... I’m at peace with it. I made that peace a long time ago. I’d just like some quality releases of their prime to enjoy and I’m more than prepared to pay for it.

  7. I saw guns in 2013 and Axl was on time.

The lateness during the illusions and later on could be put down to a lot of different factors. Axl being a diva, Axl being deranged, selfish, endulging the chaos, and trying to piss off fellow band members, the list goes on!

Between 87-93 I didn’t have so much a problem with this! If you purchased a ticket in those times, you had to know what you were getting yourself in for! So o don’t really buy the whole “the poor fans” thing! It was what it was!!!

  8. to support the argument that TB like a certain “attribute” of loyalty no matter what in the fans they keep close to them, look no further than the dude who runs the other forum!

As for diesel daisy, he never fails to deliver a Clanger! Nearly spat my coffee out at work reading the last 2 pages of this thread 😂👌

Hopefully whaleed isnt on or we'll get 10 minutes of nonsense questions with no prior research made. Lefty snowflake nonce

Yep! That’s exactly how it went too!

Pretty cringeworthy and outright pointless! I’ve never understood the point of getting a celeb on and just asking idiotic questions in the hope of being funny! Which is exactly what happened.

Good too see him out here though, shame I can’t get to see him, I enjoyed the last gig he did in syd in 2015.

Of course everyone has their own tastes, some people like CD and some don't, no big deal. But when people say, "Why release tracks not good enough for the worst album", they kind of miss the point that it's not about what wasn't good enough the first time round, the tracks were actually intended for future albums. For example, Axl was saving The General for the third album, and from what Baz said, he had thematic reasons for doing so, and according to others who have heard it, it seems to be a case of saving the best for last.

As already mentioned before, using some people's logic, You Could Be Mine, November Rain etc. weren't "good enough" for AFD. When people come out with that kind of thing it comes across as if they're just saying it because it gives them one more way of dismissing an entire part of the band's history, because everyone knows by now that it was supposed to be more than just one album.

But hey, no skin off my nose, just pointing out something I noticed.

    Agree mate.

I think the main discrepancy comes with who the band members were in the nuguns era, and perhaps the level of quality of the songs from AFD/UYI era as opposed to CD.

A lot of fans don’t consider the CD body of work to be at the same level. In saying that, as you rightly point out, no one knows the quality of what hasn’t been released yet and I take that point on.

Exactly this. It suprises me how many people find this such a difficult concept to grasp though, either that or they are just determined to trash anything NuGuns recorded.

Whilst certain aspects of the fan base do “trash”  anything new guns recorded, it’s also a fair to say that a large majority of the fans have reason to dismiss CD, and it’s their right to have that opinion. That’s been discussed a million times before so I won’t go over it.

i will say this, each fan is entitled their opinion. You like CD and want to see what’s left, I’m no remotely interested.. that’s life... no point getting tied up over it. 😜
