  1. Anyone seen that straight to DVD zombie movie Arnold did last year yet?

Yeah, it was alright...had a bit of heart, a Zombie movie my mum would (did) watch.

    Arnie was good in it.

Okay, sweet. Sabotage also went straight to DVD (at least here in Canada) and it might have been his best film since True Lies.

Arnold was fucking horrible on Sabotage. He ruined the movie for me.

I can't really detect a discernible difference between his acting in Sabotage and anything in his filmography.

  2. Man this has gotten me so excited! yet at the same time i'm so sure this will be a disappointment

    What makes you think that?

Having lived through the disappointment of the last three seasons, not to mention the second movie, I'd advise a good deal of caution with your optimism. Except for the Darin Morgan ep. That can and will not suck.

Season 7 has some cool episodes like Paper Hearts, Fight Club, the video game one, and the one with the genie. Can't remember if the Dreamland 2-parter was in that season or the one before, but it was fantastic as well.

Paper Hearts is S4, do you mean the S7 Samantha ep (Closure, IIRC)? I do dimly recall that not sucking and I will defend X-Cops until my dying day, as it's one of my all time favorites. But aside from that, the genie episode is clever and Requiem would've made a much tidier series finale than The Truth, but IMO (and as well as I can recall) that's about it. But it's still leagues above 8 and 9, obviously.

I did some Googling and what happened is that I misremembered Paper Hearts as being the conclusion to the Samantha story arc as it stayed with me far more than Closure. I also remember Brand X (the episode with the killer cigarettes) from season 7 being fantastic as well. I totally agree about Requiem being leaps and bounds better than the true finale, though. From season 8, I remember the 2-part beginning and Roadrunners being awesome episodes, but beyond that I don't really remember anything

  3. Saw it again recently. I Actually enjoyed more the second time. Terrific film! Every single person I show it to ends up being blown away by it too

I agree. Watched it with the in-laws this past weekend. They all loved it. Third time seeing it myself.

Undoubtedly the best "blockbuster" movie released this year. Probably my favourite movie since 2004, when Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind was released.

I gotta' give the slight edge to Furious 7. Mad Max is stylistically more ambitious, but the stunt work of F7 was simply on another level.

  5. Lost me when I saw Cornell and/or Vedder aren't involved, especially on vocals.

Still sounds more promising than at least 95% of modern rock out there right now :P

  6. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, QOTSA Supergroup Has Been Formed, Debut Single Coming This Friday
Ten Commandos is the name of a rock supergroup project featuring Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd, drummer Matt Cameron of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, Mark Lanegan of the Screaming Trees, frequent Queens of the Stone Age collaborator Alain Johannes, and Dimitri Coats of OFF!.

According to the latest announcement, the gang is set to unveil their debut single "Staring Down the Dust" on October 9, and follow it up with a full-length release in November.

The band's story dates way back to 2008, while the first concrete reports of the band being active surfaced last year.

Mr. Coats, who will be handling the vocal duties in the band, previously commented: "There was just an instant chemistry and a really creative and open situation where everybody's passing around the guitar and throwing in ideas. I sort of felt like I was in the grunge Beatles."

Describing the vibe of the tunes, the musician added "It's a little bit like 'Superunknown,' that kind of era of Soundgarden, mixed with Alain's kind of Stevie Wonder vibe."

    3. NO ONE ELSE

    This.

Untalented, unimportant, useless hacks? No, thanks.

Fortus is untalented? Last i saw his chops were pretty damn good.

This. I saw one of the shows he did with Thin Lizzy - the guy can certainly play!

Nosaj really should upload a video of himself playing guitar so we can all compare it to Fortus and make a clear evaluation of who the untalented one is..

  8. Oct 02, 2015

Despite being told not to bring up his main band, Fortus was happy to talk about them (he mentioned them first, just saying!)

100% ROCK: Yeah, there’s talk of your other band – who I’m not allowed to mention – releasing some [music] next year. We’ll have to see if that comes out, hey?

Richard: Yeah, yeah, to be honest with you, I have no idea what’s going on. There’s been a lot of talk about stuff. We’ve been talking. The world’s been talking. Who knows what’s going to happen. I have no idea.

    100% ROCK: Time will tell!

Richard: I really have no idea what’s going to happen. I do know that Guns wants to do something next year, so I’m hoping that it does and I can be a part of it.

100% ROCK: Excellent. I appreciate your time. Maybe we can talk about your other band next year if something’s happening on that front?

Richard: Yeah, yeah, absolutely. You know, I’m not opposed to talking about [Guns n’ Roses]. There’s so much speculation going on right now that I don’t want to get myself into trouble and I really don’t know anything at this point.

  9. Again, 09-10 tour was a disgrace?

    Yes, yes it was.

You gonnae justify that statement with evidence of why? Axl was on top form, the band was tight, the setlists were ambitious... What was disgraceful?

Axl sounded pretty good for the most part, certainly way better than he did most recently.

Are you seriously trying to tell me that #demented was "tight"?

That guy was/is an absolute disgrace to the GNR name, bad enough you have Pittman with his gay antics but having that wanker prancing about pretending to be Slash (and sounding horrendous in the process)...seriously man, I shouldn't have to explain what is digraceful about it.

I was never a big fan of the way he conducted himself in general with relation to the band's future output, product placement, self promotion or general rhetoric but I didn't find his presence on stage in the 2010 shows to be something that affected the experience negatively, no.

I'd say consistently butchering Robin's This I Love solo affected the experience rather negatively.

  10. Ballad Of Death and the Pink Panther Theme deserve their dues.

    Maybe on Greatest Hits II?

I'm in the minority for sure here but I genuinely feel Ballad of Death was the best piece of music to come from "post Slash GnR", "CD era GnR", "NuGNR" or whatever they were called. I've easily listend to that more than anything on the album, maybe even anything on the album combined.

I enjoyed Ballad of Death a lot myself and actually think it kinda' shows that Dj's might have been able to contribute some worthwhile stuff to a Guns' album.
