  1. Your current knowledge full stop'd fit on a postage stamp.

(thats the thanks you get for explaining to me how a boiler works today eh?)

Hang on, if you don't know fuck all, I don't know fuck all and ARQ don't know fuck all, who knows shit?!?! We'd better hope Graeme is a fuckin' afficianado  Is young Daniel at all au fait with the working of modern day GnR?

  2. I hate the Smiths. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out is the whiniest, most pathetic song ever written.

I can see why someone might say it's whiney but music expresses the range of human emotion, does it not? Ergo, it's all valid. The point I'm trying to make is that whiney isn't enough to make a song bad, in my opinion. No state of human emotion is, in fact they're kinda essential to the idea of expressing oneself, which is what music is end of the day. Romeo and Juliette was whiney if you wanna look at it like that.

I love The Smiths more than the air i breathe :)

  3. Plenty of people think Michael Jackson did some pretty incredible music with that voice of his.

Seriously, are some of you smoking crack?

And plenty of people think otherwise, so what? I just happen to be the other half who think that MJ ain't nothing special. Imo he just became a legend because of the music video, not because he was so talented.

But he was a star before music videos were a big thing. Also, i think the point Towelies trying to make is directly to do with singing ability, you really can't call him a bad singer, you can dislike his voice but the functional aspect of being able to hit all kindsa notes and registers, he was pretty fuckin' good y'know, i ain't even a fan. I get your point, if you don't like the way a voice sounds he can hit notes all fuckin' day long you ain't gonna like it but Towelies perspective is hardly redundant.

How can one have an incredible voice and not make anything incredible with it?

By picking the wrong tunes for your talents?

That imo means he was only avg. many imitators came afterwards and pretty much made as much good music as he did. Seriously this guy imo was a less talented Marvin Gaye.

I agree in the case of Marv.

  4. I see but where's his honesty when he ends up playing with Fergie!!!! and makes a horrible cover of PC, using all those cheesy things he hates so much?

That's what makes no sense to me...

    no it's called music business

Like it or not both Slash and Axl are musicians with big reputation so it's up to them how can they use their talent

Axl doesn't interested in the "normal" way in the last 20 years and he becomes irrelevant. Slash is always been more keen of this side of the industry so he does covers with current popstars all the time (remember Slash playing with MJ?)

so when a nutswinger bringin' up the Fergie thing is their last "weapon" to ditch Slash because he collaborated with a currently relevant singer/musician

This only shows how they known nothing about the business side of the music industry

That being said, i'm, more nterested about "independent" bands out there, but at least i know (and accept) just the basic facts about this topic

How the fuck did gnr benefit from these hideous videos beyond the pecuniary? They drew in a load of teeny bopper girls and housewives and made gnr look like egotistical wash outs at exactly the same moment that grunge was mounting its onslaught. Imagine if they retained their tough punk rock credibility when Nirvana smashed the hair bands into smithereens? We might be talking about GN'R as, pre-grunge, if they retained the Appetite sound and image rather than allow Axl to masturbate himself silly, in the studio, and on celluloid. Instead, GNR were a dinosaur rock star act which, deserved destruction.

No we wouldn't, they'd've been a one trick pony desperately trying to replicate the rawness of their original sound, i think the truth of the matter is that GnR didn't have the talent, the inclination or the originality to be the sort of band that their fans wish they were.

    WAT

what the fuck are you doing here then?

Listening to a band i like. Just cuz they didn't have the talent, inclination or originality to be 'great' doesn't mean they weren't good.

I can say that a lot of people here over estimate their potential, but no talent?

that's harsh and too obvious trolling attempt

even on a gnr fan forum where posters constantly cupcake their own idols

Where did i say they had no talent though?!?!?! For fuckssake man, read the post, is it that complicated, they didn't have the talent, inclination or originality to be the sort of band some of their fans wish they were, where does that say they have no talent?!?! I just said not the requisite talent to be what their fans want them to be. Which is the same as what you've said there about over-estimating their potential. Exactly the same, so what you raggin' my arse for?

    Not exactly the same

You're a native english speaker and you just tryin' to mess with the wording to get an excuse

Why don't you just fuckin' admit you read it wrong you twat? 'requisite talent to be what their fans wanted them to be' is exactly what i said and exactly what i meant and exactly what I maintain, the fact that you come onto this forum looking for war against the enemies of Axlanity is neither my concern or my problem, sorry. Why would I need an excuse? Who is it whoose judgements I'm that worried about that i feel i need to excuse myself? If it makes you feel any better i think Axls a fat ginger twat with an attitude problem, in case you're of the opinion that I am at all concerned about invoking the ire of you 'hardcore' fans...that doesn't mean I can't like it when he sang 20 years ago, sorry I don't fall in love with the people in magazines.

Okay doesn't matter, you're the cool english "cat" on an internet forum, have fun with the Anything Goes section bro

All this cuz you just can't admit you made a mistake. Human communication is a very simple thing, people say shit and that shit is what they are trying to tell you, if you don't understand you are welcome to request clarification but don't tell me what I'm saying, I'm the cunt thats saying it...and when i say it in clear terms on what basis do you interpret that I'm saying something to the contrary? Exactly.

  5. Go to the local tobacco shop. They're experts.

I liked the mocha coffee flavors. My e-cig broke after two weeks though; probably a good thing because they're fucking terrible for your lungs.

I thought they was meant to be alright for ya?

  6. I am listening too one of them now and there are two Americans taking about guns and roses.

Im actually wondering how qualified I am for this, i know exactly fuck all about GnR as it stands and my opinions on old GnR are oft-aired ones. I'm well up for it and everything but don't complain boys and girls if my input is a bit....uh, more geared towards amusing myself than more to the point stuff, I'm gonna sound like someone tryna blag an exam

  7. Bruce Springsteen-talk about overrated

Michael Jackson- avg. Singer and pretty much made himself a career from music videos.

The Beatles- 3 avg. singer/song writers. Never will understand the fascination with these guys.

Metallica- I only the black album, cause it's when they decided to write good music.

    Many more ...I'll post later.

Michael Jackson is an average singer? Seriously? Say what you like about his music and his lifestyle, but the man had an incredible voice.

Yeah, one of the more fuckin' ridiculous things I've heard stated, average singer, really?!?! The boy could sing better at 10 years old than most of his peers and his peers were the greatest soul and rhythm and blues singers ever born.

you're absolutely right...he was a great singer at 10 years old....but not when he was an adult

I'm not as fond of where he went in his later career as a singer as I am of what he was doing as a kid but i don't think I could justifiably say that, as singing, it didn't stand up.
