I never thought of them as NuGnRs I always viewed it as The Axl Rose Band. Guns were & will always be Axl & Slash. Just like The Stones Mick & Keef, The Beatles John & Paul, Zep Jimmy & Robert. I know this will ruffle a few feathers but that's how I always looked at it.

How can you say that when your name is 'AFD5'? lol.

Guns N' Roses is a sum of its parts, and it's arguable that Izzy, Duff and Steven had profound influences on the early band.

Watch the UYI tour. Tons of rasp. Lots of cancelled shows. Watch Indiana 1991, half way through his voice is gone. He is saving his voice...some rasp...some falsetto...get over it.

Exactly. Besides, Axl used to sing with a cleaner voice before the UYI era anyway... Axl's attempt on Out Ta Get Me at Coachella weekend 2 sounded very similar to the Ritz in '88...

Axl has been singing the best he has in the past 6 years. I can't believe people have the audacity to complain.

Don't know who it was directed against or whether it was directed against anybody but certainly I wouldn't consider it the proper thing to say in the presence of Slash and Duff.

Anyway the truth is Richard Fortus has been in Guns N'roses for less than one month. That thing before April 1st was Axl's something, nothing to do with Guns N'Roses.

I don't think that's particularly fair considering the guy literally spent 14 + years working with Axl on 'Guns N' Roses'. Whether you like it or not, Chinese Democracy is a Guns N' Roses album and it has been legitimized as such by Slash and Duff agreeing to play material from the album.

I've been following this band since before Merck mercadius was the manager of the band so I know what im talking about here.... :

    1. No velvet revolver songs? It's like they're pretending the vr era never happened.

    2. Axl hasn't dressed like axl since 2007. and jesus,  That man hates dieting. Someone needs to change his philosophy on healthy and wellness.

    3. No new unheard songs. No Band interviews. Or special appearances from the people who were a major part of the band who kept it alive (Fink, bucket, Sorum).

I know the tour has just started, but if they don't do this in the u.s. Ima be very disappointed.

1 - Velvet Revolver isn't Guns N' Roses. There really is no reason why they should be playing Velvet Revolver stuff, especially since they already do a lot of covers.

2 - If you take a look at some of the clothes he is wearing in this tour, they hark back to the old days. From the white GN'R jacket he wore in the Paradise City film clip, to the skeleton jacket.

3 - Right now, the tour is focusing on Axl, Slash and Duff. To that extent, and in the eyes of many, there is no need for new songs or guest appearances by former members right now.

Guys, be respectful of people are coming by this forum and/or are unfamiliar with GNR's discography.  No need to shit on someone for not knowing a particular GNR song, especially if they're new to the forum.

Fair request, although i was only joking with them. I should have made that clearer.

What did this guy actually write in GNR? I know he has a song writing credit for Madagascar and If the World.

Did he write all of the music for these songs, or just some of it?

If i recall correctly, he had a good amount of contribution to Silkworms, played the beginning of If the World, and flicked through a couple of sounds until Axl chose the horns for Madagascar.

So... not a whole lot really.

worst fucking news possible.  it's always 1 step forward 2 steps back.  finally gets back with slash and duff.....puts on 3 killer shows.  gets the most momentum going for guns in years.......and this bullshit.  axl should be focusing on guns and only guns.  work on an album while the fire is hot.  i'm fucking pissed.

He's only finishing a tour, as far as we know. No need to get pissed, lol.

I'm just happy rock is being resurrected into the mainstream again. It's a great year for us as GN'R fans, and i'm sure a lot of AC/DC fans will come around eventually.

Even in that part he does not sing like 2010.Its sad,it thought he would do it for the reunion.

That was 6 years ago, and Axl currently sounds better than he has in the years since then.

Axl has a lengthy history of throat blowouts, even back to ~1987. The fact he is still hitting the notes is great.

You know, I loved the show last night, but the one tiny thing is that the TIL solo will take some getting used to. I adored the original. Out of everything, though, that's just the tiniest thing.

I thought it had suspense which made it pretty interesting... It will take a bit of getting used to, but these solos have refreshed these songs, and i think it's a good thing.

I love people saying how much better CD material is now. It hasn't made leaps in how good it is, the songs they are playing were already good, you just have Slash's backup on admitting it.

I can't wait until they release their next album with some CD-era material on it. People will just eat it up, even if a lot of it originated with what many of them would call Axl's solo band, lol. In fact, i think it goes to show that many people didn't accept CD, not because of the music, but because of who wrote it. I suspect people will begin to open up to CD now that Slash and Duff are on board and playing some of the songs.

  11. I like that things feel fresh now. It's not just going through the motions anymore.

Regarding Slash's solos, i thought they were pretty good, although Better might need a little work. I felt like Slash's TIL solo had a certain suspense to it, which is good.
