Mr. Sparkle- This tour will be marketed on a professional scale and large stadiums will sell well once everything is set in motion over the next couple weeks.  Remember when I told you that there is a professional management team overseeing this tour?  As much as you want to give them credit, Axl's people are not running the show anymore.  The marketing efforts that are being put into this will crank out more tickets than many of you think.

That's the best news i've heard all day.

  2. According to members over at ACDCfans.net, Ross Young, the son of Malcolm Young, has confirmed that Axl will front the band for a period of time. He apparently shared an article of the rumours, and commented that they are true.

Some people over there are skeptical, because Ross has apparently been wrong on some news before.

Someone over there copied and pasted a transcript of the discussion. Take it for what it is:

Kevin Brooks Please say it isn't so. I can't see Angus putting up with Axl's lack of professionalism.

No one is telling you to stop ball washing. This has the potential to be great or suck. It could go either way.. This personally isn't what I was hoping for when I bought the tickets.. I bought them on the chance I would get to see the original band again. (yes I realize that was never promised) I could give a rats ass about hearing Slash play with Fortus or any backbeat that Frank has anything to do with.. I just want it to sound like Guns N' Roses, not like the crap NuGuns has been spitting out.

Slash and Duff always said if they were going to do it, it would have to be with the original line-up. They are letting a lot of people down they way they are going about this whole thing.. If Izzy, didn't want to be part of it, then fine. But it is starting to look like that isn't the case and they didn't even ask him which is fucked up..

If Axl comes out looking and sounding like he usually has the last 15 years than this is all too late. If he sounds like ass the novelty is going to wear off real fast. If he somehow miraculously sounds killer (which I am hoping for) then it could be awesome.. Having Izzy or Steven there would make up for some of his shortcomings..

If Axl comes out Fat, winded and sounding like a dead cat with this line up then this is all 10 years too late.. I would rather see Slash,Izzy,Duff, Steven and some random singer in theaters than that.

People aren't just bitching to bitch. We care tremendously about this band and want it to be as great as it can be. To a lot of us, this just isn't it.

All that said, I am still hopeful this lineup can prove me wrong. I'll be at the first show in Vegas which will be a special night in it's own right.

That's your problem if you purchased tickets on the chance that Izzy and Steven were going to be involved. Rumours were around for months prior, that the lineup would instead have Richard and Frank. Further, Richard and Frank are both professional musicians, so i'm sure they will jive well and change things around to suit Slash and Duff.

Who know's what's happening with Izzy, but yes, i agree it would be fucked up if they screwed him over. Back in 2012 though, Axl made it absolutely clear that any reunion would only consist of Slash and Duff:

    Quote

All these managers, they know one thing. They know that they can at least ... sell a reunion tour and get their commission. It’s just a phone call. It’s a half a day’s ... work, or however long they want to keep the bidding war going. They get their commission and they don’t care if it falls on its face.

Because, really, you can get guys from the "Illusion" thing, but the only thing that would make it would be Duff and Slash, really. It’s nothing against Izzy and it’s nothing against Steven, or anything like that. Steven may want it, but these guys I’m working with right now, they work really hard and it’s hard work. I’ve toured with the other guys and I’ve also seen what they’ve done since, and I just know the difficulties.

I don’t have an excitement to work with people that joined in the "Illusion" time. There’s behind the scenes that was really, really difficult there with different ones. So it’s not really even a full reunion. And these guys have been here a long time, whether the public knows it or not because we haven’t done the media like that. Tommy’s been on 14 years, Richard’s going on 11. That’s as long as Duff was in the band. Chris has been in going on 11, Dizzy’s on since "Illusion," Frank’s going on six, and so’s Bumble. These guys have been here. And DJ’s going on three.

Plus, we can have our differences, and everybody in the band can be like, ‘I don’t understand that guy’ and point at one of us, you know? But at the same time, we get along. I don’t have to tell these guys what to do onstage. I can suggest something at times, but that’s very little.

You're 100% wrong.  Nothing is orchestrated here.  People always think there's some master plan unfolding and we're witnessing it in action.  The only plan is this:  we don't give a shit.  And that's why we love GN'R, but it's also why things will never come close to being as epic as they could if they did give more.  I still feel the amazing music on Chinese D was met with apathy simply because the band didn't promote it or market it at all.  Seemed like they didn't care so fans didn't care.

Driving in my car listening to Chinese D, the song, and man that song HITS SO FUCKING HARD it should be a huge hit.  It wasn't.  Why? Because they never promoted it properly.  Same with Better, Prostitute, etc.

I agree, but i think looking back, a big reason why people didn't like CD was because it lacked input from former band members. The album, and the song 'Chinese Democracy' both made the charts, but people didn't seem to care after a while. Yes, the poor promotion had an astronomical amount of influence on how things unfolded, but many people just never saw nuGN'R as GN'R. The funny thing is, if GN'R releases new material from the Chinese Democracy era, most people will accept it since Slash and Duff are back in the fold. I reckon many who never even liked Chinese Democracy will enjoy it just because of that reason.

The closer we get to these shows with little promotion, the more I think Slash's return is only a temporary thing and by next year we'll have another nugnr lineup.

That would completely damage Guns N' Roses though. I think the regrouping with Duff and Slash has pushed Guns N' Roses, as a band, over a point of no return. If Slash or Duff leave Guns N' Roses at any point in the future, it will be over in the public's eyes.

As far as Patience goes, your account diifers from Duffs, and I'll leave it at that. As far as my statement about Izzy's material, your comment is fair BUT I was mainly referring to general public reception, and I don't think it's subjective at all to say November Rain and Estranged have been better received than 14 Years etc.

Don't get me wrong, I'm an Izzy fan and I agree that he's is generally overlooked by the mainstream audience, but I also think he's now become overestimated by some of the 'smart' fans.

Regarding Patience, i said what i've read over the years, or at least most of what i remember, lol. I remember reading somewhere that Izzy wrote the bulk of it, with Axl adding the closing parts and making some other alterations which were significant to the song...

Regardless of who wrote what in the song, i think it's a fair assumption that many GN'R songs are made better through collaborative efforts. The solo stuff of individual members are good, but the material shines much better when they collaborate.

You're right that November Rain, Estranged etc. have been better received by the audience, but i think that comes down to multiple factors, including personal tastes.

I dont know where this is was the heart and soul of GNR BS came from. Look at the writing credits, Axl was responsible for writing the best songs like Estranged, NR, Breakdown, etc. And I like Izzy but Axl is king.

I don't want to see Slash withe Axl, I want to see Axl. Id rather see Axl and Bucket actually.

Both of your opinions are just subjective statements.

Some could argue that Dust N' Bones, 14 Years, Double Talkin' Jive, Don't Cry and Patience surpass some of the material that Axl wrote. Just as you are saying his songs surpassed Izzy's. They're just personal preferences.

As for Slash, i don't know why anyone wouldn't want to see him share the stage with Axl again. I didn't have a problem with the Chinese Democracy era, but i am looking forward to seeing Slash and Axl perform together again.

The lineup is locked in, its Axl, Slash, Duff, Fortus, Dizzy and Frank, they're not revealing the lineup because they would be slaughtered by the media for trying to pass it off as a reunion (even though they haven't called it that themselves, its how its being interpreted), and because its still hit and miss with Izzy+Steven. They're negotiating dates and have left enough lineup clues out there. What else is there to say at this point?

They're better off coming clean, especially now that Izzy has talked, than leaving it for the fallout to ensue after thousands of people have paid ~$400 expecting something they weren't going to get.

Some may not agree with a press conference or anything, but the fact is that Guns N' Roses should be controlling the narrative and not letting the media and fans speculate to such a wild extent. They should have their shit together and they should be straight in telling people what will happen. If they don't do it now, they will have to do it when it's too late.
