I've been on an Albert Camus binge recently. I recommend all his work but especially "the stranger". Genius.

Cancel culture= angry mob, waving pitchforks and torches, sentencing People guilty of "immoral" or illegal acts to become persona non grata.
Nobody who believes in peoples innocence before proven guilt and that the punishment should fit the crime, i.e. be proportional, could support this.

I actually LOVE that album and I would say that on a given day I could prefer that one. Rod Jackson was an amazing singer. So yes, have heard it, probably 100 times lol. Great album, I still love Duff’s first album.
most consistent of solo albums would be Izzy. Not a bad one in the bunch. There are a few Duff and Slash albums I’m not a huge fan of. But like all things gnr related, even the not so good is still pretty goodYeah, the second version of Snakepit was amazing. Too bad that it wasn't succesful enough for them to continue.

It’s by far the best solo album of any member. I still listen to it today. And if you’ve heard any other Duff solo album, they don’t compare. Believe in Me is miles ahead better than his other albums
Have you heard "ain't life grand"?

It's a hard nut to crack since there's also a cultural aspect to it. Van Halen is for example (to the common man) kind of only known for "jump" in sweden, whilst as far as I know they are/where huge in the US. Also, Aerosmith didn't become big in (at least large parts of) europe until their second wave during the 80's and 90's.
So everybody's going to have a different perception regarding this matter (or any matter for that matter) based on their cultural (and other) biases. This with the exception of beatles being at the top of the ladder. Some would say that the Rolling stones belong there with them, but I don't agree (most probably because I'm biased :)).

Seems like I'll go against the norm here by regarding axl's guttural delivery during the UYI tour as my favorite vocal moments. Especially the bridges in YCBM and Coma.

His comments are based on the information he's getting from scientists in the field: "But all the scientists I’ve talked to... are like ‘This is not going to be good.’”
I never made that claim. But there are reports that smaller kids in South Africa are affected and require medical attention in a hospital in ways that were not comparable prior variants:
Sorry, misinterpreted what you wrote

That's not quite true.
We know that it's a highly mutated strain, with many of the mutations in the spike protein.
We know that the rise in cases in South Africa outstrips anywhere else currently.
It's been reported that ten percent of those hospitalized in South African with Covid-19 are two and younger.
We know that the makers of Regeneron, the anti-viral medication used to treat previous variants, has announced that Omicron makes it the drug less effective.
I'm not saying we should jump to conclusions, but it's also worth preparing ourselves for the possibility based on the preliminary reports that Omicron could reset the current trajectory. It's not exactly comforting when the CEO of Moderna expressed his concerns that the current vaccines will not prove as effective against omicron (something he didn't do with Delta).
Still lots to know and learn, but it's not completely true that we're utterly ignorant about what we're seeing already.
That's quite contrary to what I've read (not the comments of CEO's of medical companies, which I consider as speculation at this point, as far as I know they are also speculating for now?). What are your sources regarding that the cases in SA are skyrocketing (in a way unparalleled to other countries) and that omicron causes illness more severe than the other (known) variants (Not trying to be a dick, seriously curious)?
I will confess that I mainly follow "chise" on twitter regarding covid news, as he/she/it (I'll call her a she for now for easier reading) is a senior scientist (working with vaccines) and is cautious and rational about the whole ordeal. She seems credible as well as her feed is stacked with actual (also credible) scientific articles and she's also transparent about what she bases her assesments on.
I highly recommend everybody interested to follow her:

I wish everybody could just relax about omicron. Nobody knows anything yet, and if we're going to speculate this early on it seems like people infected with the omicron is less likely to get seriously ill than the ones infected with delta.
If we're going to be ignorant, why choose the pessimistic rather than the optimistic route? It doesn't help.

A new study published in the British Medical Journal reveals a 53 percent reduction in infections when people wore masks:
Damn, talk about about loads of possible spurios variables and low validity. The authors admits this themselves in the actual study.

I've always thought that the Main riff to "just like anything" is an absolute banger. Classic Slash single string-riff. It comes in after the pretty boring (and too long) intro. I also love his long riffs (covering several bars before repeating) like the ones mentioned in this thread; serial killer and DDM. Honorary mention to the main riff in ain't life grand.

I know President Biden is in Europe and hopefully make a plan to get people there vaccinated soon too.
Surely, you're talking about eastern europe? The vaccination rate in the countries in the west and north of europe is pretty spectacular.

Went to brač in croatia a couple of weeks ago. Really beatiful, apparently there's loads of tourists there in the summer, but going there "off season" was really nice. The locals were really friendly. Going to prague over new years as well. Loved it the last time I was there.

Republicans are always talking about that they're against all restrictions of freedom. Why all the censorship, isn't it a extreme restriction on the freedom for people to read or write about whatever they want, whenever they want to? Hypocrites.
I just want to say in passing that I don't consider myself as a democrat. Oh, and also by the way on the rest of the worlds scale of politics, both the democrats and republicans are right wing-parties. Just one more so than another, the "socialist-stamp" gets passed around so much, it seems like few people actually has the slightest grasp of political ideology. End of rant, (sorry for OT- and as you propably know, downzy it wasn't in the slightest directed to you). -

food for thought:
lockdowns don't work
washing hands with alcohol dont work
masks made of toilet paper dont work
vaccines dont work
retardphone apps don't work
violating our constitutional rights don't work
nothing works, because it's all man-made, inadequate reaction.
=> as evidenced by all time high infection rates across the board, in every country that has implemented them
but it's not all bad. eventually, mankind will build up enough natural immunity, and then covid sars-3-COV or whatever it is called, will be like seasonal flu
18 MILLION people died during the spanish flu, and it went away eventually, without all those petty measures
Actually; vaccines apparently do work. But yeah, there's some evidence that masks does work, but I can see why people are skeptical, the studies aren't exactly convincing.
Since it seems that the virus is airborne and alcohol is a poor sanitizer for viruses I can also see your point there.
The worst part of this pandemic (besides the obvious, that People are dying) are the lockdowns. Apparently they don't work and they are also a measure that only takes the virus in consideration when the effect of lockdowns hits almost all other aspects of society HARD.

Anyway, I'm trying to stay safe and keep my daughter safe and not dwell too much on covid anymore.
Good for you! Everybody should follow your example. There's no point in dwelling on it, even though I know its hard not to, especially since it is a virus that has been politicized, which is crazy in itself.

It's incredibly amusing, seeing people suckered in by this guy over and over again.
He is practically trolling at this point. He releases two 'new' songs where he recorded his parts 20 years ago and people on here actually thought this might mean he's recorded actual new songs.
22 years ago. 1999, right? ;p
