Always....more than welcome to talk about those shows anytime :)  The 1992 version at the Hoosier Dome was the best version of Civil War that I recall of the three.  The thing with the Deer Creek shows is you'd never heard that song before, so which version was best is hard to recall as I don't recall either being terrible, but I recall the Hoosier Dome version more mainly b/c I was more familiar with the song.  One general thought is they played several new songs, remember UYI didn't come out until September that year and You Could Be Mine didnt' debut until June, so these songs were all new.  There were no "leaks" or anything like that.  Unless you had went to one of the few prior shows or were close with the band one way or another, you literally had not heard half the songs.   A couple other things, distinctly recall November Rain from night 2 (first time it was ever played live), I don't know why, maybe b/c it was such a departure from everything else, but it was literally amazing.  Also, I recall Perfect Crime from night 2 as they opened with that on Night 1.  All the stuff you see on Youtube is from night 2,  nothing from night 1 is out there.  but, at any rate, they opened with Perfect Crime on night 1 (imagine them opening with that and you'd never heard it before).  Night 2 of that song was much better.  Night 1 was terribly sloppy, but night 2 was much better.  I think I rcall that song specifically as it was the opener from night 1, so when it came up late in the set night 2 it was like, "oh yah, I remember this they opened with it last night).   Also, they were way late on night 1 and I recall it took them a few songs to find a groove it seemed.

  2. You bored? I see you are "liking" comments from back in  July hahahah

  3. i have been wanting to message you ever since I saw you were at the GN'R concert in Noblesville. this is my fave concert I have seen ( not in real life, the one i'm going to in Vegas the 8th will be my first EVER live GN'R concert  ). but I am fascinated by Axl in this concert. excuse me in advance cos this may be a bit long and rambling but I have been dying to pick someone's brain about this particular concert! it seems to me that Axl was extremely friendly with the crowd here, do you think it was because he was "local boy does good returns home" ( well not his exact home we all know he's from Lafayette but you know what I mean ) "he had to flee in disgrace comes back in triumph" type thing? also he references Q95 radio station, which I follow on twitter and says that it saved his life then he asks "i just wonder where Mike Tennis (?) is now...who is/was Mike Tennis? I have googled him to no avail. and what about the girl he addresses right before they do "Bad Obsession"? he says something like you're *bleeping* distacting that's what you are honey!" is this the little miss T&A that he later brings on stage to dance? if not who is little miss T&A? I know Slash & Duff were wasted out of their minds, Axl has to steer Slash out of his way and kind of prop him up at one point...was Axl wasted too? he didn't appear to be. anyway as I said kind of rambling but if you have a chance i'd love to get the perspective of someone who was actually at this concert! Thanks in advance...:)

No worries, you're always welcome to message me.  Let's see here.  First off, the show you reference (that is on YouTube) was the second night of two back to back shows at Deer Creek.  Axl was definitely firendly with the crowd on night two.  But, on night one he was very stand-offish.  When they came back in 1992 and played the Hoosier Dome with Metallica he was a flat out dick to the crowd.   My opinion is that on night one he was very nervous (they started about an hour later than night two) and he wasn't very interactive with the crowd at all.  Night two was definitely better as far as that goes.  My opinion is he was just in a "good mood" really.  It's fairly well known he has no love lost for this state for several reasons.   Mike Tennis is someone Axl and Izzy went to school with here in Indiana.  Yes, the girl before Bad Obsession that he interacted with is the same girl that he brought up on stage during Rocket Queen.  Slash and Duff were wasted both nights, Axl did not seem to be.....I was wasted night one, so my recollectio of that night is a bit more fuzzy.  At any rate, at this point in time I think Axl was over the "getting wasted" stuff himself and I believe he drank, but not heavily.  If you have more questions, I'll be glad to answer as best I can :)
