I never thought I’d see the day where I’d say Scott over Axl, but today’s the day, Axl can’t hold a candle to Weiland’s voice on Slither...I would’ve ironically loved to hear Axl’s take on Slither in 2006 when he had the pipes for it.

Super interesting that Oh My God resurfaced on this list. The chance of it ever being played is incredibly slim but just the notion of it being there says a lot.

I don't get it, why won't they play Shacklers Revenge instead of TIL, much easier to sing
As a singer I can tell you Shacklers is way much harder to sing.

Look on the bright side guys, at this rate at the 2023 Not In This Lifetime tour’s 18th leg’s horrendous start Axl might finally realize he needs to prepare or get a vocal coach!

This I Love was interesting vocally if any of you people didn't hear it he sings the second chorus in like a deep voice it was weird. Not a good weird though
Is there a video of it?

I do ponder why they left out YCBM tonight. That’s the first full show they haven’t played that song at since 1993. Something had to have seriously happened to make the band drop it. I’m guessing Axl is starting to accept his voice isn’t what it used to be.

Anyone else think the worst part of (plug in almost any song here) was Frank?
Exactly. Ive tried over the years to look past it but I just can’t get over how awful he makes these songs sound. That intro to Slither was embarrassing, sounded like that was first time hearing it and improvising...

Did he really say he sucked and blew it? Do we have any videos of that?

Agreed to an extent on the Frank part, his snare doesn't fit most. He also uses the cymbals a bit too much. rest of the kit sounds fine imo. I thought Axl sounded awful on Slither
I wish on the chorus Axl would just let Duff sing and then Axl just sticks to the verses. I hated how he went Mickey for the choruses.
What happened during November Rain? Slash really fudged that end solo.

First things first: sorry to the person I quoted above. It was an accident and I'm on mobile with no idea how to remove the quote lol
Second, I do find it funny that you can immediately tell who has any interest in having an honest discussion and who just wants to get a reaction.
Most reasonable people are saying Slither sounded OK but Axl has room for improvement. Still cool that he sang it in the first place.
Then you have the others going on as if it's the worst thing to ever happen in the history of vocal performances. Throwing in Frank when he played the song just fine is amusing too.
Axl sounded fine, but I just cannot get over Frank’s drum kit’s tone. He has the chops but I just don’t like how it sounds with the Guns discography no matter how much I force myself to try and like it. It certainly didn’t work with Slither in my opinion.

So they played Slither, "only" 3 CD songs and got rid of The Seeker and Black Hole Sun? This must be one of the best setlists of the whole tour even without YCBM, Coma, Out Ta Get Me and My Michelle. Please, keep it this way!
He's the worst part of every second of the show, what were you expecting?
Well you got me there lol

I wonder how low he has to go before realizing that he needs to actually rehearse for these tours

No YCBM or Coma, really seems like Axl is flat out unable to sing these songs at the moment and they decided to pass on them.
-
Glad they dropped YCBM. Current Axl has no business singing it I’m afraid

Oh come on guys Axl was not that bad on Jungle. Lots of over exaggerating on this forum today, that was nowhere near the 2002 VMAs.

I’m really sick of Axl just floating his way through many of these songs without making an effort to sound good on them. He could easily just come up with a new vocal style or drop songs instead of trying to force a voice he outright doesn’t have anymore.

I absolutely love the title track from CD. I think about half the album is mediocre, but the title track absolutely sounds like a Guns song to me.
I love CD but Chinese was always a song to me I thought could’ve been on the original albums. In fact, the first time I heard it I was unaware of Guns history and thought that it was something on the Illusions (I was also like 12, so people, don’t hate me lol)

To be honest, I'm quite impressed with how high Axl's voice went in the ISE outro
He sounds okay, but I have a feeling it’ll get significantly worse throughout the night.

Axl's pitch is quite high.
I noticed that as well- on the plus side it’ll pay off for Shadow of Your Love if they decide to play it.

I can’t wait guys! Looking like we’re going to have a great leg with new additions! Sure Axl will probably sound like crap and 90% of this forum will be unhappy, but again...I can’t wait!

Axl would have a stroke if he tried to sing Shadow of Your Love.

If Axl was singing on it at soundcheck then it’s 99% going to be played live. Coma and Catcher both were added the same way. Axl wouldn’t bother showing up if he wasn’t gonna sing it, ala Oh My God or Perfect Crime.

Any VR song is a great idea since Scott Weiland typically sang in a lower register and would be much easier for Axl to do justice.

Hate to be the negative guy but I fear it’s much worse than a slow start- I’ve never seen him struggle so badly with singing songs he used to nail even at his lowest points. As a almost professional singer I can tell that he’s suffering greatly in trying to sing these songs and is losing it. His voice is cracking, he has issues hitting notes, is jumping in between voices...I feel as if his voice is permanently damaged right now and something is up besides just a crappy start. I’m not even saying this to be negative but rather as a huge Axl fan crushed that my favorite singer is a shadow of the man he used to be vocally.
