A good marketing team would take something like this and turn it into pure gold. A whole campaign would be made out of this. If it was (and it likely was) an accident, they wouldn’t make it seem like one. I wonder how TB will react.

All the talk shows are not showing new episodes right now due to the writers strike.

If they don’t bother taking it down until then, that’s possible. To be honest I would’ve expected by now TB would’ve taken this down like a dog on a pork chop. Could the delay have been a last minute sponsorship deal from TouchTunes?

If it was a real marketing plan, they would’ve tweeted something like “might be worth a visit to your local pub this week…and check out TouchTunes while you’re at it!” Doing it without saying anything means maybe 100 people at most will discover it naturally. I would’ve never thought in a million years to check out “TouchTunes” otherwise.

The “heys” seem to be redone (doesn’t seem like the 99’ voice at all, to me it sounded recent) and apparently there’s a lower Axl on the choruses a la Shacklers Revenge.

It’s not even a leak. This is an official release. If a company authorized by the label let’s you access and pay for it, then it’s as legitimate as any other song.

Being a GNR fan is torture but for moments like this it’s (a little bit) worth it. You can’t possibly make up this kind of scenario. The funniest comedians in the world couldn’t write this shit.

Part of me wants to send the song at bars I’m not at with my remaining credits. GNR’s worst nightmare will come true- people are actually listening to their music.

Listened to it. Drove to a bar and paid $7 for credits. Sounds really fucking good. New “heys” are recorded. Slash solo is fine but not great. Drums are really good. This band are fucking morons for not wanting to release this. Absolute baffoons. It’s a good song, just let the world hear it.

This was GNR’s master plan. Not release music so we all fight and yell at eachother into world chaos erupts. Then a world war will eventually break out, and therefore we would have to respect what was going on in the world for an eternity so nothing new would ever come out.

Being a GNR fan in 2023 basically requires being a borderline conspiracy theorist as is anyways.

They really tried. They’re trying to get it out any day now. But between trying to respect what’s going on in the world and not knowing how to release a single in this day and age, they just couldn’t figure out how to do it.

The link had a graphic of a CGI video that said “August 11”. That’s not simple text. They paid someone to make that because they firmly believed it would release August 11th. It’s not ridiculous at all fans took that as evidence it would’ve released today.

Is it that unrealistic when we have a band manager telling fans to fuck off and “the world would be better without them”?

People with VPNs have tried and as far as I know it’s not showing up anywhere.

I’ll say this to you, I very much would be fine if you’re right and I look like a massive idiot later. But there’s such a history of disappointment with this band and music that I am unable to envision it. It would be a massive apology for Hershey though for a dud of a show and not playing a new song that was clearly planned back in 2021.
