I think the most likely scenario is that it's a snippet of a different take from Robin. The last note sustains, so it obviously cannot be the exact same take as the demo solo. But the tone is the same as the demo and is clearly different from Slash's tone, so chances are it is Robin.

The real mystery is whether it was intentional or not.

I don't think of it as much of a mistery.

Robin didn't got a credit (unlike Brain). I'll take that as lazy editing.

But who said it was the plan all along? For all we know, the reunion was only about touring at first (with probably a vague plan in Axl's mind to release the CD leftovers at some point) and "see what happens" next.

The reunion was limited to a couple of shows. Which means that Axl would have continued NuGN'R afterwards. However, plans changed and they booked another tour (money talks).

I was concerned about Charlie's drums. Fuck, I'm hyped now.

They will feature both Charlie Watts and their current drummer Steve Jordan on the new album which is great.

I'm thrilled about McCartney and Wyman.

Lady Gaga will appear on one of the tracks.

Nahh he does, he might play them out of respect for Axl or to keep the peace within the band, but his solos on Chinese material are usually quite the downgrade on most cases.

How can you be so sure about that? We don't know if Slash loves or hates to play those songs. You are probably just making assumptions based on your own mind.

Slash would never play CD songs at a SMKC gig (he wont even play NR or Estranged for that matter - Axl's songs) but he seems to enjoy them in the context of GN'R.

I kind of hope they do a covers record 'as a warm up' for a new album. They've done covers before every other album, plus SFTD if we count the failed mid-90s sessions. I have zero expectations that this lineup will ever release a full album of actual new music, but I'd be happy to be wrong. A covers album in the meantime would be great though.

I'm sick & tired of cover Songs (in a studio setting) tbh. I would only accept an EP as a Bonus to the actual album

Judging from the last releases, they're in part free from the label (it looks like they're attached to it only for distribution), so they don't owe the record company anything.

They have their own label to my knowledge (GN'R records or something like that) ans Geffen does the marketing / distribution.

I wonder if Axl still owns Black Frog.

    You can bet on,

-The General will definitely have Slash and Duff on it

-The General will be on streaming services and played live

-The release order does not matter. Again, Silkworms was the first song released

Slash mentioned six songs from the CD sessions.

This would be the most realistic release plan for me:

    Hard Skool / Absurd (2021)

    Perhaps / The General (2023)

    Atlas Shrugged (?) / Oklahoma (?) (202x)

    New album (202x)

So I'm listening to "Melting Man Part 2" by Buckethead (Pike #10) and parts of the song reminded me of the "The General" cellphone clip. I hope this isn't off topic, just wanted to share.

Interesting. He wanted to use some of his ideas for his own solo albums in the past. The GN'R Camp prevented him from doing so.

There’s talk on the AC/DC forum that for some reason (maybe health, maybe visa issues) Phil won’t be able to make the Power Trip show. The rumour is fueled by the band picture being removed from the PT website. Simon Wright is rumored to stand in for Phil.

would be a bummer and I hope that it’s just visa issues and nothing health related so IF they come to Europe the Rudd will be in the chair

I love Phil's playing (he really is the best drummer for AC/DC) but Simon and Chris are great in their own right. So, I won't get mad if Simon shows up to perform at the Power Trip festival.

As for the future, Angus could divide AC/DC into a studio band and a live band. The studio band would include all members from the ROB line-up while the live band would have a different drummer or bassist.

Slash and Duff are already back... Izzy and Steven won't make much of a difference to the general public.

I would like Izzy back as a songwriter though. This band needs more rock n roll.

Izzy could have a role similar to Brain"s. He could do something for them in the studio. Either songwriting or recording (or both). Richard could still be a member because he handles the touring routine much better than Iz nowadays (I think he had to recover for a whole month after the tour in 2006).
