what the fuck are you talking about? those are all great powerful performances. great use of his trademark raspy voice. try again.

They are great powerful performances and he doesn't use his trademark raspy voice through the whole songs. He uses his clean voice a lot.

That's what I'm saying, his clean voice was far from awful, it was great.

The falsetto he uses now may sometimes be awful, but he never used this technique back then.

I'm pretty sure he is talking about the falsetto without rasp and not about Axl's natural deep voice.

They both said about his clean voice. Two different things.

And why on earth would Axl try to make a career with a falsetto voice? I've never seen him using a falsetto voice back then.

    High notes doesn't mean falsetto.

But anyway, without the crazy rasp voice, no way GnR would be the legendary band famous in the whole world.

The mainstream as a whole it's not really fan of male singers singing with their natural male voices, i don't why, but people love men singining with those almost feminine voices.

And most people don't know how deep Axl's natural voice can sound, i saw a lot of surprised people when they heard Axl's natural speaking voice from the first time, in the last interview for the brazilian tv.

Agree 100%, but this mostly applies to pop singers imo.

  3. Since 'nostalgia' is a greek word, let me tell you another greek word: oraia (ωραία) which means nicely.

In ancient greek oraia derives from ora (ώρα) which means time, so for something to be nice it has to be done at the right time.

I want to believe that the guys want to make a new GOOD record as much as we do.

But let them finish what they're doing now, which is building up their relationship.

Their solid relationship this time will be a prerequisite for any new record.

I am very serious about music and it's my genuine opinion. I like the Guns version better, they have a special ability to take covers and make it their own.

I strongly disagree with the argument that the original version of a song is always the best no matter what.

Yes, a cover CAN be better.

I like Dylan's, but when I want to listen to KOHD, I will automatically go to a GN'R live performance of the song.

    Money heals wounds.

I don't know why azoff didn't achieve a reunion (probably because of Axls bitterness), but Axl admits that it was the coachella guy who was the main reason for this reunion...someone who had nothing to do with gnr...so stop talking about Axl finally getting cool. Money was his driving force. Coachella guy=a lot of money for 2 shows. And because Axl agreed to play this show more promoters contacted him...it wasn't even planned to go on tour in first place. But the offers were financially so good that Axl couldn't deny.

The fans were patient for 25 years...No new real gnr material since 1991. And there won't be new stuff in the near future.

At the Chinese Exchange interview, Axl said that Duff helped him understand Slash's point of view.

The coachella guy may be a big factor for the reunion, but not for their reconciliation.

Axl was hating Slash, he even called him a cancer. No way the reunion preceded the reconciliation (or at least the end of the hatred).

True.  Doesn't change the writing credits one bit.

I can write a song on an acoustic, and you can arrange it for a big band and score the orchestral version.  I still wrote it.  You didn't.  You will get zero writing credits.

Unless we made a deal beforehand.  That's what GNR did on UYI.  Everything is registered to the 4 of them, but the liner notes state the real writing credits.

I don't know exactly how the song crediting works, I'm mostly speaking about the real contributions.

To come up with a basic idea and a simple structure for a song is one thing and to be able to take that song to the next level is another thing.

Just imagine November Rain without Slash (he didn't take any credits iirc).

I'm not trying and I can't take anything away from Izzy, but I'm a little fed up with this saga.

And don't forget that Gilby managed to learn all his parts in two weeks when he replaced him.

Slash: "Axl is so prolific lyricwise and has such a heartfelt sense of melody that combined with Izzy's songwriting skill and Duff and myself, creating great guitar parts was easy, and so we'd have amazing songs in no time. Izzy and Axl had such great chemistry because Axl knew how to transform one of Izzy's simple structures into a perfect, well-rounded, melodically and lyrically rich song. A great example is 'Patience': Axl really elevated that song of Izzy's into something else entirely."

  7. For me, if we make one album with the best songs of each UYI and throw out their weakest songs, it would be greater than Appetite.

    1. Dust N' Bones
    2. Don't Cry
    3. Double Talkin Jive
    4. November Rain
    5. Don't Damn Me
    6. Dead Horse
    7. Coma
    8. Civil War
    9. 14 Years
    10. Knockin' on Heaven's Door
    11. Locomotive
    12. Estranged
    13. You Could Be Mine

    (in any order)

runners-up: Pretty Tied Up, So Fine, Yesterdays, ...

Beats AFD hands down for me.
