Yes, like @BucketEgg said, summons has not been served yet and the time window for the defendant in a lawsuit to file an answer or a motion starts after service.

From what I understand, since Axl resides in another state and so he's outside "subpoena power", he can basically choose when he wants to be served, which will be when he officially appoints an attorney who will be served on his behalf (I assume he will appoint lawyers from New York). For example, in the Bob Dylan case the lawsuit was served about 4 months after it was filed (Dylan lives in California); and Steven Tyler has not been served either (the lawsuit against him was filed about 20 days before Axl's). For the same reason, Fernando has not been served for Kat's lawsuit (because I think he lives in Costa Rica).

Could be years, then? Somebody who lives un Argentina for example, and last 10 years to enter US, for Miami , and never go to NY, that person Will no be served?

I guess they don't want attention on GN'R probably because of the lawsuits, since every little thing they say about GN'R in an interview will be reposted on sites like Blabbermouth and those "second-hand" articles usually incorporate other recent related news, so it could be like "Slash said this about GN'R... In other related news, Axl Rose has been sued..." etc.

I do not agree that Is for the lawsuits, I agree with the poster who said Is because they don't know GNR future, AND the fact that Slash Will go on tour of that solo album AND he Will record another SMKC atrocity, tells me that Will not hear anything about GNR until 2025-2026, if....

New Slash interview promoting the SMKC shows in Argentina (in Spanish):

    https://www.clarin.com/espectaculos/vuelve-slash-guns-nroses-heroe-guitarra-cuenta-rebeldia-rock-espiritu-antisistema_0_ZNiaFF5uYk.html

GN'R related questions were not allowed. He says that his solo album will be released after the SMKC tour and there will be a tour in support of it (cool), and after that he'll record another SMKC album (meh). Auto-translation:

-Slash and the Conspirators' last album came out almost two years ago. What expectations do you have for 2024 and what projects are you thinking about?

-I am very happy with the idea of extending this tour, since initially we only did it in the US. I think that was early last year. So I'm really looking forward to doing this tour. And then now that COVID is over and done as much damage as possible, we can try to get back into a regular pattern of recording and touring.

So at some point next year I'd like to get into the studio and start recording the next record and then figure out when that tour is going to happen. And then I have a record that I made recently that focuses mainly on blues, some old school rock and R&B. And that will come out after the tour with the Conspirators. I'm looking forward to that as there will be a tour to support it as well. So those are really the most immediate things happening right now.

Thank you. Excellent translation. I read an interview with Duff, questions about GNR were banned too. I wonder why, I can only think if they allowed the GNR questions, all Will be about that.

Just retire I think. Axl has nothing left to say creatively and frankly hasn't since 1994.  The more he goes on, the more the legend of his genius just erodes. All the myths and assumptions we had about the Chinese Democracy era are slowly imploding one at a time. Many of us thought the CD era was a fertile creative period, that Axl went on a mad tear of writing and recording 3.5 albums worth of material that he, for reasons of artistic integrity and insanity, never bothered to promote or release outside of a single album that was forced out of his hands. But it seems to be getting clearer that maybe most of the material that wasn't released and "saved" for CD 2 just plain sucked and was rightfully dumped by Geffen. That would also line up with the rumors of them thinking the earlier versions of the Chinese Democracy material were also weak - this would explain the armada of CD producers needed to inject some life into this project. 3.5 albums in retrospect was more like 1.5 albums at best.

I feel bad for the people who wanted CD 2 and have been waiting years for it. Imagine waiting for a decade thinking he has "Big Guns" and getting a trilogy of turds like Absurd, Hard School, and Perhaps. The singles give the appearance at the very least that Rose has nothing, just running on fumes since '94 - the village leaks were shockingly poor and I was in disbelief that a talent like Axl could have been so uninspired to create material like that. Atlas is an embarrassment. It all felt like a joke. Like this GnR project was some hobby he'd pick up a few times a year when he was bored. It seems to me like Interscope/Geffen are the biggest bag holders of all time in the music business after trusting Axl. 13 million for CD.  Not to mention million dollar bonuses for delivering work on time (he never did). Imagine paying 13 million for new songs from GnR on par with AFD/Illusions and getting back stuff many years later like Riad, IRS, Atlas, Hard School, etc. Axl punked them. What a colossal waste of money, talent, and time. Forget a trilogy, as Bob Ezrin said, he didn't even have a single album worth of good songs - if I'm being generous, maybe half an album's worth of top shelf material. This is what you broke up the old band for?? Isn't "The General" named after the chinese takeout he had - General Tso's chicken? Am I totally off or was that the rumor on here? Wasn't there a Weird Science episode back in the day where the characters become rockstars and name their next single "Chopsticks" after looking at their Chinese takeout because they didn't give a rat's ass anymore - about their fans or the band? I'm not making that up, that's a real episode.:D

Why couldn't he just put out a butt rock album with Slash in '96 if he wasn't going to do anything with all those alt-rock guys and members of NiN in his band? He poached a bunch of guys from Trent's band just so he could be like NiN and then didn't do shit with it. Someone in "The General" thread said (and I'm paraphrasing) that it seems like Rose just spent a few hundred hours pro-tooling these CD tracks with vocals back in 2001/2002 and that's it - he just added layers, cheesy effects, a school bell on hard school, a random choir on twat, etc - no new lyrics, vocals, etc ... aside from a couple touch-ups in 2007 and early '08. And then nothing again. Basically, a lot of this stuff sounds unfinished because...it probably is. He had no idea what he was doing and Interscope was doling out millions for this. Somewhere in this mess was Yoda advising him about psychic energies and Beta/Doug Goldstein telling him about how great this new band was working out and that everything he was doing was awesome.

I'd lay decent odds that nearly everything they still have left in the vault as far as new music is probably just hundreds of hours of instrumental material. Rose's work ethic speaks for itself,  I cannot imagine much completed work with vocals still unreleased. He has had 25 years (since 1998) to finish this stuff. Are there even 20 finished CD songs? I would be shocked if there were. I think it would have been cool for Axl to just put out a solo album of his best experimental tracks - especially after hearing The General. Regardless of whether they were good or not, it would have been different enough to garner some interest and he wouldn't have had the weight of GnR's legacy to deal with. That would have been a fine way to end the Axl Rose story in the mid to late 90's. But he just hid behind the GnR name - endlessly auditioning all these dudes from bands he admired and selling them some fantasy trilogy of "experimental" albums. Clearly at some point these people stopped buying this. Each new iteration of the band was a downgrade from the previous one. By the end, the only guitarist he could attract to his band to put the finishing touches on his "big guns" was DJ Ashba.

As for this current version of GnR that exists now, all they really have of value to fans is the archival material. If they had actual releasable stuff from the mid-90's, you might have something. That mid 90's stuff prior to the breakup has real sentimental value to the long suffering fans of this band. But Axl likely never completed any vocals as per usual - so again, you have nothing. They have pro-recorded stuff from 88-93 that would make for great live albums/show releases. How about new dolby mixes of the Illusion material. Maybe redo Illusions how Slash wanted them - a "naked" mix. How about documentaries with archival footage from the AFD and Illusions tours? They don't even have to do anything new! But all of this is doomed with the circus clowns they have managing the band. So how about new material you say? Well... Axl can't sing all that well these days - and their writing talent is a major question mark - it's a real question whether they can even put together one decent track on the level of Shotgun Blues at this point. So maybe retiring without tarnishing the legacy further would be the best way to maintain their reputation rather than turning into a cheesy legacy act like KISS. Let people continue to believe the myth that GnR broke up in their prime...that if the AFD 5 were reunited or even if just Slash and Axl are together again, mana from heaven will drop.

    Wow! A lot of WOW!

Some of the stuff they seem to know directly, e.g. they seem to have known Axl's stepfather and the way he conducted himself.

This is the saddest part, if true (and it probably is):

After The Rolling Stones interview Axl came back to see Sharon and try to make amends with her. He showed up to the west side house but refused to come in because he didn’t want to see Steve. He asked Sharon to come out and sit in the limo so they could talk and she refused and ripped him a new one over “humiliating them” with the article. She took Steve’s side and defended him. Had she not done that they probably would have had somewhat of a better relationship and maybe he would have shown up when she was dying. Steve was 95% at fault for the falling out but she was definitely at fault as well.

Yes. That part Is sad. Do he didn't know that His Mother was dying, he has talk about that ?

Where did they confirm that? I only saw a comment by them (in a thread about the Tom Zutaut quote, I think) saying they hadn't heard anything about sexual abuse by his stepfather (but the family believes that he could have abused Amy).

Yes. That's my understanding too. He confirm the physical abuse

That's hard to tell. The parts about his biological father kidnapping him and hurting his mother seem to be real, but the part about the sexual abuse is questionable because it was the result of regression therapy.

But never was in court papers? Ok...I so hope It was just a not accurate memory. I saw that baby picture AND my God what a beauty AND hope he had not suffer that awful trauma

Axl never said his stepfather was a pastor. He only talked about the strict religious environment he was brought up in and also about his stepfather doing stuff like speaking in tongues. Probably a journalist misinterpreted that as being a pastor and then the rumour stuck.

From what I found in the local newspaper it was clear that he wasn't a pastor. There were articles about him from the time he worked at the Lily plant and when he owned the donuts shop, as well as ads for his work as a contractor. He taught in Sunday School for a while, but that was it - Axl's mother was the one who taught there the most. What the person on Reddit shared about Axl's stepfather's and stepgrandfather's profiles in the local community is exactly how they came across in the newspaper stories.

I guess because of what had happened with Axl's biological father (although it doesn't seem that the rest of the Rose family was to blame for any of that) and mostly because they hadn't told Axl that his father was someone else and not Stephen Bailey).

Thank you!  I Will ask. His biological father hurt him as a baby? It was the sexual abuse as a baby real?

It would be a bad thing for me. I wouldn't like them to hire Desmond Child type writers to write generic radio friendly songs for them just to have new music. I'd really take more Absurd's over that

I'm not so sure he wouldn't call Izzy if he got seriously into the process of making new music.

I like More Absurd if you please

Because people with power tend to abuse that power. Why would Axl be any different? Just because we all idolize him on here, it shouldn't hinder us from seeing that a man in his position easily could have the feeling that they are free to do whatever they want without facing any consequences. It's happened countless times before.

I'm not passing any judgement on this particular case, I'm speaking of general power dynamics.

And Is no only men, happens to womens too

I understand that (although I can separate the art from the artist). What I don't understand though is why this may lead you to delete their music. Unless you don't know much about the history of the band.

Exactly that. Have this poster, heard the lyrics? Hear about riots, total debauchery, not only Axl, Slash AND now St Duff. I remember a show in Indiana a beautiful lady goes up to dance Rocket Queen in the scenario, before that Sebastián Bach touch her breast in such way....and Duff was there laughing all the way
