Where did you hear that about finding Keith?

Some Slash interview this summer, as far as I remember it contained this sentence: Cause there's a bond that you have that's never [broken]. And then what happens is the bond makes the negative side of it that much worse, because you're forced out of it."

  2. 4 minutes ago, Asia said:

Also, did anyone notice that Slash talks about loving Axl again? :lol: Almost exactly  like in the good old times 😉

Slash also touched upon the issues that kept him and Rose apart for nearly two decades, saying: "I won't get into all the personal stuff, but even over that period of time, there was a lot of bad feelings from the breakup all throughout that 20 years, whatever it was. But there's also a part of you that's like in a marriage, where you love somebody... so there's always that feeling, but then there's all this negative stuff."

Earlier this year, Slash said that the first time he and Axl spoke was by phone in 2015, followed by an in-person meeting. He revealed: "It was very cathartic to physically talk. 'Cause there's a bond that you have that's never [broken]. And then what happens is the bond makes the negative side of it that much worse, because you're forced out of it."

I think between the lines, they always felt the bond being there and being violated. if there's nothing to continue between two people, the animosity won't happen. I love the part where Slash after feeling it all back onstage in Troubadour searched for Keith Richards, gave him big hug and told him that back in the '92 or so, Keith was true about that feeling onstage he can only have with Axl (originally, in 90s, Keith told Slash to persist. Keith was experienced with diva lead singers and band breakups. I think every cell of Keith's body is built to persist, it explains his existence).

He is not a band manager. He is just a member of Axl's entourage, a step brother if you want. Of course being in that position he can do things like allowing a couple of idiots to delete videos. But he is not the one negotiating contracts. The band has lawyers, a tour manager designated by Live Nation and booking agents to do that.

I am aware that big touring band is a big circus and sh*tload of managers, lawyers an many other people on many levels are needed to run it.

Apart from shipping merch from fanpage, it impresses like some kids are doing it in backyard house when all other chores are done.

One level is people in direct contact with band members, personal management. Seems like Axl additionally created interface with the world this way; having professional personal manager is not nurturing experience and Axl doesn't have regular family to nurture this needs... Axl, different from many others in similar position, doesn't hire people in direct contact - he adopts. You are on the board, you are adopted, protected and treated like a family member (all these people refer themselves as GNR family - and have been at least since 90s, which is not present in other bands as far as I'm concerned). May not be always a win situation. Tasks to manage for some of GnR family may be quiet simple and not completely clear, but still, you are not a free man, you are minion. Also, there was a time when Nado was sent to business school to become a band manager. Did anyone ever give that kid chance to be what he wants to be? I don't think so. I am quiet aware that band functioning and touring doesn't stand on any kind of his managing, just thinking he might be not as rich, but maybe happier and actually self-confident outside the circus.

I've seen situations like that, small town knows everything, it tends to end up in a very love-hate relationship with person who provides money, prestige, everything which comes with it (like out-of-your-league wife, "friends") and knowing that basically everything you have comes not because of you, but intense push from someone else, you are a step, the bottom feeder. So you enjoy the ride as much as you can, try not to piss off people who do real stuff why still trying to fake your importance and impress anyone available...

... And Fernando's weird ass twitter post. Somebody should've got him a brain for Xmas  Well in the UK is boxing Day. Some british fans here, please send him a brain and an english dictionary and grammar book.

Someone should finally let that man be what he is built to be, not a band manager, that would solve a lot of problems. That's all.

Hey is there going to be an Advent calandar this year? @Andy14?

I am a big fan of @Andy14 imagination, creativity, humor and all these virtues, but, honestly, no new material from the band - interviews, videos, very few backstage pics, this forum is more dead than alive and long are the days when jokes flew freely here...

  7. What to do if your friend falls and it didn't look threatening (not that first few moments it doesn't hurt anyway): Laugh your ass off, then eventually pick friend's ass if he wants (or needs). Most people are okay to pick themselves and not to cause unnecessary turmoil or poor me scene. It's funny to see how Slash is absorbed during solos. He really knows nothing then (and I guess that otherwise he reacts just on supra-normal stimuli) I also guess no one from stage crew did see the wet spot prior, because they would remove it. They always clean the stage just before the show, too. Axl detected problem and the range of it, Axl solved. Looks like he remembers how to do chores :D The man is down to earth at the end.

Today he's maybe a little bit butt hurt, but it looks okay. He had even tablecloth to soften the fall. You don't feel the pain as soon as you hit the stage anyway (that bitch waits...). I like that Axl doesn't turn back to the audience until he isn't at the very back part of the stage. A really nice way how to show an appreciation to the crowd.

Axl wears his boots because they ARE slippery and light: he dances. Boots are good for running and stopping on a spot as he did through Illusions, but slippery are good for dancing, shimmys, (signature snake dance) and all this stuff. How many times I went through iced town to see some band, and hoped I will make it without fall... in my favorite slippery shoes, because they are good for dancing. I cannot dance in proper winter shoes, they have grips. Axl didn't fall through most of the long tour and if there wasn't some wet spot, he wouldn't even now, probably. Those boots he wears are tight and those straps he wear... I cannot decide how much it's installed to actually work, and how much it's a feel better stuff, but whatever, it was his feet, his ankles, he knows. That's what the life is, balance between dynamics and stability, having things done and safety...

It's so odd, when he first comes out you are kind of hit with "oh wow he is looking his age" but by the end of the concert you would swear he was 29 again.

He has moments when he looks completely normal dude and age proper and moments when he looks... plain epic... young at heart, only 28... the thing is you believe him everything he does and sings onstage and now I'm spoiled with this magic which is hard to find in this world... Lucky you in Wichita!

I read on Tako's Instagram that those aren't real vinyls, but just coasters? Or maybe she wasn't sure. If it's vinyl, I sure am intrigued to hear what's on them...

Some people tried them, just coasters.

Now for next show, Breakdown and Dead Horse :headbang:

Locomotive! My favorite power shot! Breakdown would be a dream...

Actually, Duff made Dead Horse highlight of his solo/Shooter show I went to, I liked it, it has the power most of his recent work lacks.

Personally I don't particularly enjoy it when people bash Axl for his appearance or dissect the hell out of it in a manner that comes across as mean-spirited. I can see how it could be seen as akin to bullying (even if Axl isn't reading).

At the same time, I'm not sure if Axl himself is any less superficial.

Remember that story by Sheila Kennedy where she mentioned how Axl wouldn't let her bring a friend to his party because the friend was slightly overweight?

When Axl had a stalker, he made some derogatory comments about her appearance/obesity as well. I suppose her crime wasn't so much the fact that she stalked him but the fact that she didn't look like a supermodel while at it.

Typically the only women he wanted around him backstage were models and strippers. For a while, even the front row at the shows was reserved for models because the fans apparently weren't good-looking enough.

Even his therapist had to be a "beautiful woman".

I could probably mention other things, but the point is, he's never had a problem with going for the surface and judging women by their appearance. So why the sudden moral outrage if women are doing the same to him?

Ugly truth about life is that if you have a pool of people interested in being around you to pick from, you will pick good looking ones. We like to be around good-looking, healthy, vital people. We instinctively pick people with more symmetrical features and usually people who look "our tribe". In Axl, add self-confidence and brains and whoa, here you have intelligent model who can keep with his mental pace. Which is important if you have high-speed, wide topic thinking like Axl has. I liked a story of a lady in Apollo Theater Show afterparty, that one where fans massively complained about amount of "models" on rail: certainly Axl tested her conversation abilities and left the conversation, because when it went out of scenario she prepared, she had lost the thread and he had no reason to keep it going when he didn't enjoy it. This was a kind of show for sponsors, entourage and all kind of people who also love to be around good-looking women (and are not picky with brains and stuff). Axl is pie in the sky to attract (also a golden goose), but there is a lot of bottom feeders to feed.

If many people for some reason want to be around Axl, and he wants someone with specific abilities and skills and there are more candidates, he can pick and he picks by looks. We all would do the same in this position...

ok, dumb moment when I cant figure out how to post a picture here again...

whatever -  I was referring to the Axl's "green" picture on twitter, with back shorts, black t-shirt and no rapper's jewelry. WHY CANT HE SIMPLY DRESS HIMSELF AS HIMSELF DURING CONCERTS? Why its so hard to keep it simple?!?! Btw, it looks like Mr. Rose saves a ton in clothes... his sneakers are the same one as years ago - unless if he keeps buying them over and over again. Well, maybe he has a collection of grampa's sleepers (I would never forget those sleepers... lmao)

Let's keep talking so perhaps he can dump those rapper's jewelry (those necklaces are the worse ) and hats. I don't care how much they cost. Money doesn't buy good taste ;). KEEP IT SIMPLE SIR! YOU CAN DO IT! :D

Or nah... let's talk about something else.. I'm bored. Will try to sleep. Gnight.

He wears that simple stuff when he's on his own, he creates a stage persona with all the stuff he puts on when he performs. You can see, that when he feels good and energized during the performance, stuff goes down (shades, tablecloth... with hats he starts without them and starts to cover his hair when it's sweaty and laying flat). The thing is, performance makes an artist vulnerable and he has no instrument to hide behind, so he uses clothes and accessories. That's why all that dog collars around ankles, jewelry... I bet that for him and people who know him it makes way more sense and hidden jokes, or, like, wolf stuff when Kat was doing the campaign to save wolves...

Do you remember Rock the Rock Axl? From the interview I assume that's basically him how he sees himself as a rock singer persona, stripped to the bare minimum for animation.

He probably owns more pieces of same clothing/shoes when one wears off - like jeans, his tights rub.

Lol - it is not a beard issue. It is that Trump orange makeup issue - lol. Axl hates DT so much that is starting to look like him... (sorry but not sorry, it is true). So yes, PLEASE AXL, FIRE YOUR MAKE-UP ARTIST, WTF!

As for the hair... I really liked his hair - comparing to how he was wearing before cutting it. Could he afford the best hairstylist in the States, in the world, treatments, whatever? Yeah, perhaps, but you would never, EVER, be able to have the same hair as you used to have when you were 20 (unless if you're Tom Cruise - have no clue what that guy does, but he sure cares about what he eats, and he can count with an entourage that REALLY takes care of all these details for him). Give the a guy (Axl) a break... lol His hair looks better than before / last year, period. Huge improvement. Happy for him.

Now what needs to be improved: ORANGE makeup. That is ridiculous.

Belly: no comments. You're Axl F@ Rose. Blame medications? Find better doctors, look for more options, work your ass off, eat healthy, and change your wardrobe. No excuses.

It makes me cringe when some girls post some current pictures of Axl on Instagram capturing "Oh my Gosh, look at him, so handsome, so perfect, his face, his nose, his whatever". Give me a f@ break. I love him, but he looks REALLY bad (a part from his eyes - inside his eyes). That same wardrobe (3 years and counting), horrible makeup, exceptionally white teeth (nice to have healthy gums and teeth, but those are too damm fake white), and, of course, the huge belly. The problem might be these type of people: "oh you look so good, look at you, so hot, you can get any 20 year old slut that knows nothing about you but your money" when he doesn't. No Axl, you do not look good. We will love you still, but yeah... it makes me a bit sad. EVERYONE AGES... and I still a crush on a bunch of people that are over 70 - because they accept themselves as what they are.

They use make up also because of stage lights, they sweat like donkeys because of heat any  - and stage lights, especially that horizontal ones, they make face appear too flat, especially if you are too pale. They need it to perform, they all wear it. Three plus hours in a row.

Some won the genetic lottery and have head full of hair all their lives!

There is possibility that Axl had his hair cut some time ago, month or two, and now he's regrowing it back, we'll see. I remember regrowing my hair from short, it had no proper shape for very long before I considered it long enough to even trim it. Hair for me stays a kind of statement, it makes me always upset when I see men around me cut their hair... It's sometimes very needed for that sparse hay, but still... They become tame and orderly, they hang their guitar on the wall and start their drop dead serious office job and... if Axl keeps the wild child inside alive and well, then okay. He looks light-hearted form recent videos.

He's not caring enough of himself.  it doesn't matter if the reasons are" being lazy & eating too much, or meds, or real healthy problems. No matter what it's, it's not helping him.  My point is that, as you said, there's no excuses, but being harsh to him is different story, and ppl should behave better ( not talking about you ;) ).   on your earlier posts you mentioned his eyes- oh my gosh. THAT's one thing which hasn't changed. Very intense, piercing eyes :)

Axl ain't thin; he has the type of figure easy to gain weight and he is pretty tiny so any weight shift looks intense. He will loose weight as soon as the tour is on wheels, cos' you know, you can be dirty heroin addict, but food can be also an addiction (and with money it can be very classy addiction)... it's all about calories balance. Axl loves cheese, caviar, snacks, you name it. On the other side, someone who is capable to run around for 3+ hours and sing is extremely physically fit, Axl is also very flexible with smooth moves. All big touring acts, they go through intense health check prior the tour, some have their own physical test if they can still make it through the show, every two or three days... (Remember, they can set Ozzy off on tour...) Axl has stamina few of his age have. When I go through my own concert photos, I can find anything from stooping fat Axl to straightened tiny guy with all the clothes hanging on him, all in one show, especially if it's later on tour.

If I raided my sweet box regularly, even with my fitness routine, I'd be fat very soon, too.

With Axl I do it the same way as I do when seeing other aged musicians... they are often incredible personalities, they may be bones and wrinkles with direct look, but if you watch them by the corner of your eye, you see how extraordinary and shiny they are, like, Paul McCartney. In Axl, I love his eyes and smile and his intensity, it doesn't fade with looks. You  can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you'll get what you need...

  14. LM is with high probability a woman/girl messing around the band long enough to get recognized. Story has so many holes and flaws that it seems to me that what she says is a collection of (vague) memories, gossip, information in media and fills that some of which might have happened, some of that might have happened to another people, or her at some another point of her life, some may be made up. Band is back, high in the saddle, some circumstances around Little Michelle might have changed, so she can pass better with the story, or at least she thought that, because her reaction is not what you expect from someone who went through it first person... earn bucks, compassion... who knows?

Side notes: We process stress differently and in major stress there is one kind of reaction, "dead bug", certain person is somehow depersonalized and seems like normal at first sight, but with more questioning they just blackout and they don't remember most or any of what happened or what you told them; they may seem normal and act normal, eventually function. No tears, no meltdown...

Fourteen years old fallen in love is own kind of force of nature, no brakes, no regrets, it's big, and intense. I have worked in camps many times, if there are teenagers, it usually happens that a 13-15 years old girl has crush on a staff member, usually in age 20-25. In camp you have some lots of mechanisms to recognize the situation and keep it in no harm mode, but I am quiet not sure about bunch of drugged up individuals (mostly men) with their own issues, inexperienced with this specific thing... I also don't think they asked anyone for ID before banging and passing drinks at their place. The teenage girl, like, their love's intense and flattering, they are easy, naive, they stick around, you name it, but for same reasons this little woman can become serious pain in the ass if love of their life doesn't act the way she imagined. The situation is difficult and may go south easily and with nasty ending.

Armchair psychology: Bipolar people don't go through all the emotional scale and back again in 20 minutes, it lasts weeks to months in them, but borderline personalities can change their emotional state in a blink of an eye. Also people under decompensated stress.

Maybe she caught a cold or she suffers from allergies, sinus. I don't know about her diet because I don't look at page. She is  very young  and really petite. If she  gained a bit, she will lose it before the next part of her tour.                                                                                                                                        I stopped drinking sodas everyday. I'll reach my diet goal by December.

Maybe if she doesn't smoke, drug and drink, doctors didn't have anything else to restrict . You can catch a cold pneumonia even in hot summer because of air conditioning/outdoor temperature difference... and if she doesn't have struggles like asthma she will be most probably okay by the beginning of the tour. Some nebulization is always relief to sore throat and mucus, not to say it looks a tiny bit dramatic. Taking care of pipes is singer's daily bread anyway. She looks tired, but people catching breath look different.

Still...imagine... eating a shitload of sweets, being super-thin and being a musically gifted rose among thorns in one of the biggest current live acts... Life isn't fair. *cries violently

I've lost a lot of weight just by trekking (I live in mountains with easy accessible trails) because I love chocolate, but with my body type I'll never be a blue-haired punkrock fairy.

It hurts because I REALLY think that he would look much better if he had just aged naturally or, at least, with fewer interventions. The last time he looked like himself was around 2010.

It's... you try it with botox and fillers and it's never completely reversible and you cannot win over nature and time anyway, too, so you go more and more and you end up patching it in a hope it will look at least decent... like... I used to do a little but a little wouldn't do So the little got more and more I just keep tryin' ta get a little better Said a little better than before...

Look at Stephanie's neck. Necks tend to be age-proper. Even with heavy cosmetic and plastic interventions. And.... real slim women have muscles (abs), pelvic circle line ("V" in men) and ribcage and aren't smooth like morning ski slope, especially 50 years old when the skin is not juicy and tight and firmly holding on subcutis (see neck). She's lucky that graphic didn't smooth away her belly button. Also there naturally is a little bit loose skin and more round curve in waist, the light on her left side of trunk is nonsense, compare it to right. It's far more than when Kat goes wild with retouch. It's precisely posed to stretch eventual facial wrinkles, hats down to that, but I wouldn't compare tons of (fan) photos of current from any angle, light and facial expression of Axl with single precisely posed and adjusted magazine cover image. Stephanie doesn't look thirty, she looks mature, well kept, but not thirty.

Axl doesn't look naturally aged in his face either :rofl-lol: but for me it weirdly fits his somehow childlike personality and ageless vibe he gives. Additionally, he had several weight shifts in last 20 years, from normal to skin and bones to fat to muscular, so...

Slash back them mentioned that way many people around GNR on their rise ended up dead or seriously damaged (bio, 2008 or so). It's a hard job to keep clean once you were addict, not much of a luck.
