Different region and maybe some further mix. Idioms can be a very local thing, even specific to families  I remembered those because how natural it sounded to me what Axl said, that's all.

In Czech, if you want to say everything is safe and sound and working for you again, you say like "I have my soul on spot after all." Before that, you are hanging around "without your soul".

It's obvious , but it doesn't stop people from creating wilder theories. 

There are people who stay in abusive relationships even if you say it to their faces that they are abused. For years. Like junkies, they'd deny there's a problem, even if you want to report abuse as a professional, they'd lie. I think more men than women, even physically abused men.

It might have happened in the beginning of the relationship. Axl loved her madly, after all. So it might be a metaphor for getting over it. Just go through his photos of last 10 or so years, his vibe got far more intense and having-stuff-together at least since he has his old bandmates back. 

But he really looks like he got his soul back somewhere between 2015/2016.

But most probably must had got several more pieces back. 

Sounds like Axl was recording TIL, got flashback in studio & got melted, didn't want it in record, he insisted on removing it, still intensely emotional. It's the way you milk the emotion out of performance - you connect it to some intense emotion you went through. Sharp edge, but it's the way finest art is done. I understand Axl didn't want to be this personal and vulnerable on eventual official studio release. As far as being intense is Axl's default mode, from outside view that moment must have been memorable pure magic.

I love TIL live because of the intense emotion it carries.

Remember that Robert Plant agrees that he used to manually help himself to reach the highest notes. Then take in count that Axl can reach notes almost an octave higher than Robert Plant.

It was either some extension or rather wiglet hair Axl brought and palmed on. I am pretty sure Axl wouldn't let anyone to harm a hair on Melissa's head. But still it was, eh, memorable prank. I would be curious about revenge.

He can smile wider than Cheshire Cat. He just somehow doesn't to so for posed pictures. Ask ladies who met him, he had the widest smile milisecond before the killer face for photo. He cannot rise forhead, but Axl can smile your heart skips a beat and goes melted right after.
