  1. “We have what I call kind of the second half of Chinese. That’s already recorded. And then we have a remix album made of the songs from Chinese. That’s been done for a while, too. But after Vegas, we’re going to start looking very seriously at what we’re doing in that regard.” – Axl, June 4, 2014
  2. The 99 version of "Oh My God" was officially released as part of the "End of Days" soundtrack. On the movie itself it was played during the movie credits at the end of the movie. It was also released as a single and a promo single cd was also sold on websites like ebay. Axl himself was quoted as saying that the song wasn't ready for release and therefore it was just a rough demo. It was said somewhere else on an interview (don't remember where) that it was Jimmy Iovine that rushed the release of the song.
  3. I don’t think they will do that song honestly, but who knows. I think it’s a very weak song.
  4. I don't think "Eye on You" will be a thing. I mean they used parts of it for Hard Skool, so I highly doubt that song has a future release. I think "Oh My God" has a better chance of being released again, then "Eye On You".
  5. According to Zutaut, the album was ready to be released in 2010 and then the reunion happened. So I think it's safe to say that there's at least one album worth of songs with vocals. That album included Absurd, Atlas Shrugged and Hard School. We also know that The General has vocals, because we've heard that phone recording, and although we couldn't understand the lyrics, we could hear that there were vocals on the song. We also know that Perhaps has vocals. So if the second album has the same length of CD, we're looking at about 8 or 9 songs with finished vocals without counting with The General, Absurd, Atlas, Hard School and Perhaps. I'm guessing State of Grace, Soul Monster, Quick Song, Seven and Oklahoma/Berlin all have completed vocals by now. They were all supposed to be on the next album, so that leaves us with 3 or 4 "unknown" songs. One of those songs could be PRL, since the album was supposed to be called PRL and there's actually a song with that name on the Village Sessions. Those 3 or 4 unknown songs could be some of the following: PRL Cuban Skies Monstrosity Tonto Zodiac Going Down Eye on You (Highly doubt they will do this song, since excerpts were released on HS) Oh My God (If they want to re-release it) As It Began Devious Bastard Curly Shuffle D Tune Down By The Ocean Light My Fire Obviously this is only speculation, as things can change any minute, working titles can develop to other titles, Slash and Duff might have a say on what they wanna record or not and who knows if there's ever another album. They might turn it into an EP or singles along the way.
  6. They wouldn't be still rehearsing it if that was the case.
  7. That's some good information! But I still think it wasn't up for Axl to decide who better complemented Slash. I think it was more of Slash responsibility to find someone who complemented him, because he his the guitar player, and Axl isn't. So who better than Slash to find a player that complemented him?!?
  8. To me he "sounded" like his amp wasn't even connected to be honest. Especially in Rio... I'm not saying that was the case, but he was all over the place with gesturing with his guitar in hand, and something seemed off...
  9. Paul was a good lyricist according to Axl, but he wasn't a good guitar player according to Slash! I'm sure Axl as a great Lyricist knows how to appreciate another good lyricist. As I'm sure Slash as a great guitar player, knows how to tell if he's playing with someone good or not... How many shows did Paul do with GNR? Considering that do you really think Paul was ever a viable option? I think it showed for itself... Personally I don't think Gilby is a good guitar player either (Have you seen his live shows? Him playing Sweet Child? A total disaster in my opinion). So the change was inevitable, but I think here Slash should have had the upper hand on picking the guitar player he was gonna play with, because Axl doesn't get in into that dynamic. Slash needed to find a guy who he could play with.
  10. I don't think they would waste an album of new material on a UYI boxset. They're just using fonts that they own, so they can be more associated with the classic GNR era.
  11. Either LA or Vegas! I'm going for LA and single gets released in September. My bet!
  12. The 2000 Village Sessions leak, which sounds like the HOB/Rock in Rio 3 version minus the chorus and the extra guitars from Finck, and also the acappela doesn't have the guitar part. The 2006 leak with Bumblefoot Guitar parts. And now Absurd. Somewhere in between 2000 and 2001 there's a perfect version of the song (Just like it was played at rock in rio 3 or HOB), if you like the industrial first version of it, but it has never been leaked or released. Absurd is a pretty cool version of it though. I've been listening to it nonstop since it came out. Can't get enough of it. The fact that it's not a demo, it's full stereo and the sound quality is amazing, it really revamped the song for me!
  13. My prediction based on solely speculation and my guess is that we will not get a full album. "Absurd" will carry at least half of the tour. Then we'll probably get a second single sometime when half the tour is gone (Hard school). If we get very lucky, we'll get a third single during the European Tour (maybe Ain't Going Down for the release of the boxset). Then they will keep releasing individual songs when new tours keep happening, and they keep refreshing the tours with new singles from time to time (I hope I'm wrong though, because I would like a full album instead). Somewhere in between 2021 and 2022 the Use Your Illusion boxset is released, maybe fall of 2021, that's my prediction too.
  14. It was probably a situation similar to Riad. Remember that artist who claimed Riad's intro on the final version was his?? They probably took out the intro from Absurd to avoid anything like that again. But I'm a big fan of the intro too and the industrial guitars.
  15. Only crap music in front of "Absurd" so I'm happy with the 19th place! It looks awesome!
  16. Yes! I would love to hear the 2001 version as well!
  17. I loved the song! I'm not gonna lie, I feel a bit nostalgic because I liked that 2001 version of Silkworms that we heard on Rock in Rio, and probably we will never hear it now. However, "Absurd" sounds amazing! The production is amazing, the guitars are amazing and Axl's voice actually sounds great with the effects (which was my fear, because I didn't like the effects on the Bumblefoot's version of the song that leaked), but on this one the vocals stand out more and are more loud which is great (obviously the other one was a demo so that's why too). The acapella was awesome too and I love the lyrics. It's the perfect spitfire song for someone you don't like lol I wonder what the song means to Axl though... Would love to know what the song is about. I have a question though... If they can do this with their supposedly worst song from the Chinese Democracy era and turn it into an awesome song, imagine what they can do with all the other songs?? I can't wait for Hard School, The General, Atlas and the rest! Right now I have my dear "Silkworms" (it will always be called that way for me, on loop, for days now. People that read my posts, know that I will criticize, when I don't like something, so I'm really enjoying this.
  18. I'm betting on LA for Hard School. We should do a poll on this lol It would be fun!
  19. They messed up that part. If you notice, the acapella instrumental starts, and Axl doesn't sing, then frank pounds his drums to start the heavy pounding, but Axl comes in late and starts to sing, so the acapella goes a bit further and then Frank finally pounds it again and it goes heavy again. If you haven't noticed, take a listen again, it's a bit funny! lol
  20. I answered "It might grow on me" simply because I prefer the Rock In Rio 3 industrial version better.
  21. I like the new name better than Silkworms, but I prefer the village sessions demo. All that demo needed was the guitar parts that were missing, the removal of that annoying black & decker kind of sound, the absurd line and the new acapella and there's your song. The one they played yesterday sounds more like the 2006 Bumblefoot version, which I don't like as much. All in all it was great that they played that song, because we hadn't seen them rehearsing it, and it was a total surprise. I hope the studio version is as close as possible to that first industrial demo (but I know it probably isn't). The whole intro and industrial guitar vibe is so cool! It would be a waste not to get that version released in my opinion.
  22. Well even though they reunited in 2016, half the way is done... Vocals on Hard School, Atlas Shrugged etc have been done for years. All it was missing was Slash's and Duff's parts. So maybe there's like 3 or 4 brand new songs and those took some months to complete, but there were some songs only needing a guitar track and a bass track, so is it really fair to start counting from 2016? Even if it is... it's been 5 years!...
