As a rule of thumb, if you don't like Atlas Shrugged, you're probably an asshole.

But now they sell the thing and also BRAG about it.
And I think that's exactly what this is about. I'm sure they're making an example of Rick because he was the only one dumb enough to brag about it publicly.

I'm not saying the leaks are good or legal for the band. But it happens either they like it or not, so what they should do AFTER that is embrace the internet.
But since you brought the Napster thing: who do you know that still download illegal mp3 for regular commercial available music? Nobody gives a shit anymore about that, everyone can just use Spotify / Apple Music / YouTube or whatever. Music is more readly available and democratic than ever. I dont know about you, but I came from when you had to buy an entire album (and that wasnt cheap!) just because you liked one song. Often, it happens that the rest of the album were shit. The solution was to record cassete tapes with friends, but this is very limited in both quality and reach for new music.
And I'm not even talking about how unfair and greedy were the labels. The artist wasn't the victim of what Napster did with the music industry, it was only the corporate side of incredibly greedy companies. This excact mentality is still behind the music industry, and that's why you complain about shit music (often tailored to an algorithm to catch short-attention spam kids on over-the-top plataforms) and concert tickets price.
Plus the fact that back then labels seriously overcharged for music just because they could. Once Napster/iTunes/etc became popular, sales went down and entertainment stores went out of business, they put a stop to that pretty sharpish. I remember when CDs cost twice the amount that they do now, easy.
The only reason vinyl is being pushed so hard nowadays is because labels can use it to rinse collectors dry. A vinyl LP that cost £4 on release in the 80s now gets reissued today for £40.

It's awesome hearing them play Locomotive, but I hope they don't play it often. It would be like when they played Coma every night and killed the novelty of it. It's the kind of song that's more special when they break it out as a rare suprise.

Wow, that white sweater is as ugly as alfreds face
That stuff looks like something Rick would wear. Garish neon shirt with bright orange beanie combo. Easy on the eye. Then to top it off, a sweater covered in the band member's tattoos. Nice.

Last time someone started a thread about this song, we recieved quite the bombshell. Is it OK to get excited again?

I hope Rick gets caught and kicked out, then we might get the chance to hear Hardschool.
The things Rick does for this fanbase, guys.

What is wrong with this guy? Was he dropped on his head as a baby? It's almost as if he's begging to get bent over by a group of lawyers.

Eye On You technically has a rap section in it, but yeah he was wrong about the Axl weight loss thing.
Chanting a single lyric over and over isn't a rap. Don't Damn Me, Garden Of Eden etc would be much closer to something that resembles rap.

I think its 'Under My Wheels' from back in the day.
But why would that be on a new album? That was already a rerecording of an even older song too.

Yeah, best seat in the house... all you can hear is Frank.
Has anyone tried to flag the video yet?

Like I said, if I had bought at auction, a storage unit, like people do on the storage unit tv shows, yeah I would gave just thrown the cds away. Not everyone would think , OMG, I have recordings of Axl Rose no more than I woild think, OMG, I have unleased recordings here of The.Rolling Stones. I am missing parts of the story, I guess. Like how could anyone have known it was AR recordings. This story is interesting and confusing to me.
Because every disc had Guns N' Roses written in big letters on the front.
But yeah, you're right, if I had unearthed a locker full of CDs that listed Atlas Shrugged, Thyme, Quick Song, Tonto, Zodiac etc my first thought would have been to just throw it away too. I can't imagine what would have caught Rick's eye.

I'm amazed that @axlrosefan4life is now actively pursuing the media and looking for attention.
And that's what it's all about - attention. That's why I don't believe Rick is the Chairman. If his past actions are anything to go by, he would definitely have told anyone who would listen exactly who he was and what he was doing. Although I understand why TB think it's him, as the material would have trickled down from him.
And it's his attention seeking that took this non-story that only GNRCentral and other random clickbait sites reported on and made it a talking point on the more well-known outlets. He looked like an excited child at the end of that video.
I remember when people found out about the Evader General remix, he tried to 'hoard' that and only shared a small clip to really get a feel of his balls swinging, until other people got hold of the whole thing and started sharing it. When he spoke about it on the AFD show, he tried to make out he had the real thing, then Brando goes "it's fan made right?" and he's like "uhhh... yeah, i guess so".
Another thing I noticed is that on his own YT channel (linked in the OP article) he's got a bunch of videos titled 'Rick Dunsford does this with Axl Rose' and 'Rick Dunsford does that with Bumblefoot', as if people are supposed to know who he is. Who does that?
The reason why TB went after him is because he was the only hoarder who gave it the big 'I am' in public, whereas the others only brag about it to their own private circle of subordinates.

YEP. I was saying that earlier today. TB has managed (no pun intended) to take a complete non-story and somehow drum up interest in it. Well done TB!
That seems to be the only thing TB has "managed", amirite?

My World has been streamed 2.7 million times??
Mark that down as 2.7 million times someone played the Alt Version of Don't Cry, then let it continue on after they left the room. 149 million or so other people caught it and stopped the track before it ruined their ears.I'll never forget receiving the shock of my life as a child when Don't Cry Alt. finished and I heard My World for the first time.

From what I understand, they believe that because Alfred told them so.

Why on Earth would GNR look at Alfred as a solid source?
At the risk of sounding like a broken record... what the fuck are those idiots doing listening to that little prick?

What law did he break? Purchasing items from a storage locker? I don’t think he was responsible for the leaks (I could be wrong, I dont know)
The whole situation is just ridiculous however you look at it.
For the record, I don't think he leaked it either, but considering the locker just so happened to leak in it's entirety shortly after he purchased it (and he admitted to sending 'investors' some songs), TB could probably make a case against him.

What harm did Rick bring by attending a show? He paid for VIP tickets, meaning he gave the band a significant amount of his money. There was no reason to ban him! Plain and simple petty revenge, as others have stated.
I would think making him miss out on a show is preferable to lawyers ruining his life. And prison showers.

It's always been a dream of mine to hear them play My World live. Super cereal.
I wonder how Ashba and The Pitman would've sounded on it.

There's an epic comedy-drama just begging to be made based on the fanbase alone, with TB and their trolls as the big bad.
C'mon Netflix, get on it!

it ignited a lot of interest from the CD bois which are few and far between
True. My interest in the band was at an all time low until the leaks started happening. I've honestly listened to more GNR in the last month than I have in the last 3 years, easy.

Did Rick really expect TB to welcome him with open arms when he publicises buying material that would then subsequently leak? What exactly is the general public supposed to take away from this when they read these news stories? Don't get involved in the illegal market of buying and hoarding unreleased music or you'll get banned? Seems pretty reasonable tbh

When Rick went on every platform he could to tell everyone "Hi, my name's Rick Dunsford and I'm on my way to buy 19 CDs of unreleased music!", he really can't be suprised that he has fans on one side angry at him for hoarding and then TB on the other angry at him when the CDs he bought eventually leaked.
I don't understand why he would put such a huge target on himself like that. It wasn't exactly a smart decision.

Would GNR play 'Pretty Tied Up' ever again given our current political and social climate?
