  1. There are multiple issues with Slither. The first one is the fact that he doesn’t sing the first verse correctly, at this part:

That's the spot where you run to me
Might see some type of pleasure in my mind

The next issue is the chorus, for two reasons.

One, he is obviously singing a harmony he created and letting Duff take the lead melody. Duff’s microphone isn’t as loud so you’re getting mostly Axl-harmony, sung with very little “rasp” in the voice.

Two, he’s singing the chorus with a sort-of “swing” style rhythm, instead of the straight-forward way it was written. Duff is trying to sing it the correct way while Axl is extending vowels and shortening others.

The final issue is the post-solo bridge part:

When you look you see right through me
Cut the rope, fell to my knees
    Born and Bloodied
    Every single time

Once again, he just created his own melody instead of singing it the way it was written. I love when artists make songs their own, but I just don’t think it works in this song. This is just my own opinion and analysis, as a fan.

on a related note, at what point did we know for sure, 100% confirmed, that the chinese democracy was to be released on the day it lay in stores?

Was it also 6 months in advance? less? more?

Billboard announced the official release date on October 9th. The album came out on November 23rd.

I feel the same.  I've had that discussion with my girlfriend when the band first reunited.  Given the volatile history of Guns and the abuse these guys put their bodies through in their younger years, it could all end in the snap of a finger.  I'm going to see Guns anytime they're in my area for as long as it lasts......regardless of setlist.  It would be a regret if I didn't go when I had the opportunity.

This is a reasonable mindset. But the ticket prices are what make continuing to do something like that not worth it.

Regarding the setlist, they  played the same set list back in the day majority of the times.

I view things a bit differently. When they are back in the NJ/NYC area, I'll go see them no matter what unless something happens in my personal life. They are my favorite all time band. They won't be around forever. Neither will I.

Nice. I don’t know which “back in the day” you’re referring to.

They are my favorite band as well. I don’t want to pay over $300 to see the same show I’ve seen a bunch of times already. When they put out new music, like any other band, I probably will.

Same here and that's a bummer, isn't it?

If they came back through Detroit, I'd go but I'm not traveling to see them anymore. Not because of the travel itself, but because I'm voting with my wallet.

I've seen every line up of this band and I've seen this particular line up / show 3 times already. Unless they release new music and or change up the show significantly, there's no reason for me to give them more money.

Exactly. The price is just no longer justified for me.

How come everyone who is going to a show end up having a blast but the guys in the forum reading every time the same setlist is disapointed?

Guess what? U should be dissapointed for not attending a show. Songs arent played for you to enjoy at home. If youre tired of reading the same letters of a setlist in a forum, dont bother reading.

Shows arent made for forum users.

The rest of you going to a show, have a blast 🤘 (Setlist was awesome, u crazy)

I’ll say this. I’ve stopped attending shows because of the setlist. They played a good 7 shows or so within an hour from me on the last leg of the tour, and I didn’t bother going to any of them. Not going to any of these either. I want new music. And I’m not just pointing this out for no reason, I’m just making it clear that some show-goers do in fact care about the setlist and will affect their desire to see the band.
