  1. OK it's generally accepted that the Appetite five is the definitive and manys favourite line up. My challenge is try and name one thing you like or respect about each member who joined after.

Dizzy - A great pianist, insanely loyal, his contributions to CD.

Matt - Great technical drummer. Added a new dimension to the bands sound.

Gilby - Learnt a lot of songs in very little time. Dependable solid player. I dig his solo work too.

Paul - He co wrote some good tracks on CD.

Josh - His contributions to the drum arrangements on CD.

Tommy - He's got a cool punk vibe, like Duff.

Brain and Frank - I like how both their drumming styles is a mix of Steven's groove and Matt's technicality.

Robin - He didn't make CD sound as industrial as many had feared.

    Buckethead - Unique lead guitarist.

Richard - Loved his 007 guitar solo he used to do. Very good on both rhythm and lead guitar.

Bumblefoot - Great lead guitarist and brought Don't Cry back to the set.

DJ - His Ballad Of Death solo was cool.

Chris - He pissed everyone off and got fired 🤣.

Melissa - Beefs up the sound and enhances it. Nice backing vocals.

'Hit and miss'- that's what people want to hear when they're paying hundreds of dollars for a concert.

If it's shit.... it's your fault for buying a ticket. Unless you went thinking it might be, you know, good.

Can't say I've bought too many tickets to see bands thinking 'yeah, this might be good, it might be not' personallly! I tend to want to go out and see bands I think will be good.

Axl sounds good on most songs. Struggles with a few. But name another band who plays for three hours plus every night. They play all the hits, a good selection of deep cuts and some good covers.  Just saw them in Wellington NZ. They played for three and a half hours. I was impressed by how good Axl sounded at the end of the tour.

I've seen them in 93, 07, 17 and 22 last week. The last show was every bit as great as the others.

Axl on his own was arenas, so I'd guess that if he decided to go out without Slash and Duff he'd pull the same crowds. Again, most people buying tickets probably wouldn't be aware that Slash/Duff were gone so that's already a few thousand tickets sold! Depends entirely on how and what could happen that they might leave.

I think he would retire though, he's 60 now he probably isn't that bothered and he could spend his golden years maybe doing soundtrack work like he mentioned.

Sure fans went to see Axl, Dizzy and various NU GN'R line ups in arenas and were happy too cos we never dreamed Slash n Duff would return. But they did. I don't think they'd accept a substitute line up again.

The lack of new music isn't forgiven, people are aware that GNR have been back for ages and not releasing any albums... they just don't care enough to come on message boards like us🤣

Yeah I was meaning by the casual fans. Nostalgia is a powerful thing and there will always be those who will go just to hear the hits and relive their youth.

Of course most hardcore fans would love new music.

Axl would probably do another residency or be back to club/or small arena shows with another new version of gnr.

I reckon ashba would come back for sure not sure about a replacement bass player though.

Do you think he'd still insist on calling it Guns N Roses tho? Do you think fans would except a line up without Slash as GN'R? They obviously did for a while. But now that we've had six years of most of the classic line up back together I can't imagine even small scale tours or residency would with another line up would cut it l.

  6. A hypothetical scenario and I'm interested in fans opinions. This line up seems really stable and happy. Axl, Slash, Duff n Dizzy all seem to be having a blast and getting along. But my question is this. If for whatever reason Slash and/or Duff were to leave again would/should the band finish?

The band survived them leaving once. But I don't think casual and even many hardcore fans would maintain interest if they left again.

I think the lack of much new material is forgiven cos people are so happy to see Axl/Dizzy/Duff/Slash back together.

    What do you guys think?

Pitman is on Absurd, if you compare the 2006 version with the finished mix he's in there. Probably some sub bass on Hard Skool. Melissa isn't in these tracks.

I guess we can't be sure until we get an album and see the credits. Axl and Chris had a pretty big falling out. He'll get a co songwriting credit for Absurd. I wouldn't imagine that Axl let alone Duff n Slash would want his parts on any new album. Besides it wouldn't be difficult for Dizzy, Melissa or someone to replicate his parts.

It's scheduled to be raining heavily all night, possible thunderstorm.

    This should be interesting.

When I saw them in Wellington 17 the wind and rain was torrential. Amazing show but shitty weather. Thankfully Wellington this year the weather was perfect.
