The drums on Hardschool are vastly superior compared to Hard Skool.

I agree, I like those original parts. I sound like a broken record on here but I’m curious if these songs were produced by Caram or produced by the band. I have such a hard time believing the same guy who gave us Chinese Democracy gave us “Hard Skool”, especially when comparing it to the original version that sounds super crisp

After listening to the Village leaks more and more, and understanding a lot of these mixes have Josh on drums, I just gotta say, I really wish they kept his drumming on some of the songs. I especially like his drums on Silkworms, CD, and Hardschool.

I guess they liked it a lot if they asked Brain to play note for note the same thing. I guess it mostly had to do with having the current members on the album which explains the Frank and Bumblefoot additions to the record

  3. Another classic “TB, PLZ PUT US OUT OF OUR MISERY” thread ;)

    my favorites from each record:

    1. Move To The City

    2. Rocket Queen

    3.  Patience

    4. Garden Of Eden (I’ve been really into this one lately, which was one usually skip. This song is a proper showcase of the direction Axl wanted to move in with all the synth stuff but still very much a bitchin’ punk classic GNR tune.

    5. Locomotive (arguably my favorite gnr song of all time)

    6. Chinese Democracy

    7. Absurd (over Hard Skool)

  4. This can only mean one thing…

Hardskool first year anniversary box set rerelease featuring “Absurd (maggots acoustic remix)”.

Hardskool box set 1th year edition starts now

on a real note, it sounds like Duffs voice from the video.

You’d be surprised, quite a few people are able to either disregard the lyrics for the sake of appreciation the musicianship of the song, or run with the (unconvincing) “third person perspective” interpretation of them

Why is it unconvincing? It is easier to believe that Axl would express himself   in the most hardcore way possible and not give a fuck than to believe he is a racist. I’m sure he knew the song would be misinterpreted and obviously went with it anyway. After all, he is a raging liberal as it seems from his Twitter.

It can’t be long until someone like the independent posts about it.

Remember when everyone was outraged that The Prodigy were playing so high up at Glastonbury because of Smack My Bitch Up  and the petition against Metallica because of James Hetfield hunting bears, so can’t be long until the media starts on GnR lyrics.

Removing it from the re-release of AFD was smart

  7. What blows my mind is that there is someone out there who wants to complain how white male the headliners are (without doing simple google research on the acts) and then still CHOOSE to spend hundreds of dollars on tickets.

Regardless, if you listen to music to feel woke, you probably shouldn’t go to a GNR concert.

  8. 1. AFD: Think About You. As good as the album is, this ones never done much for me. Fun to watch live though

    2. Lies: Nice Boys - One In A Million probably would’ve been a hit had they changed the verses. Everything else about that song is Top-Tier GNR.

    3. UYI1: this one is really hard, I view this album as almost perfect. Maybe Bad Obsession for the cringe lyrics. Solid ass record

    4. UYI2: My World, duh. But I’d say So Fine is a pretty bad song too (and I’m a huge fan of Duff).

    5. TSI: Human Being. It’s a 7 minute punk song…

    6. CD: no obvious “least favorite” comes to mind, but I guess I listen to Street of Dreams the least. It’s a great song but I just find it boring compared to the rest of the record.  Good fckn bridge tho

Of course there are indications we are getting an album at some time  Slash even flat out said that was a possibility after they had released some single songs. I am not going to bother typing up all the other indications that exist to people who have simply made up their minds.

Yeah is Slash really more than an employee? Who knows. Axl’s “employees” have been hinting to an album for the last 10 years

When Nu-Gnr were really struggling, playing the sort of gigs they were....something changed. Slash cane back.

Off topic, but was Nu-GnR really struggling? I mean they weren't playing stadiums but they were still doing large theaters and arenas. I figured it was more because Tommy, Dj, and Bumble had enough. You'd think if it weren't because of that, maybe the second installment of CD would've came out. Guess we'll never know

  11. Definitely the absence of music. I remember hearing buzz about CD Part II  coming in 2014 and obviously we got the reunion instead

Lack of setlist changes. Shacklers would be the shit with slash.

Loved sorry when they played it.

Covers are so lame except slither but....maybe set me free would be another idea or big machine.

    Long Jams are boring.

Shacklers and IRS would’ve been amazing

I remember watching the Vegas 2016 night 1 livestream and hearing the new intro to Rocket Queen thinking it was Riad at first 🤣

  12. In Ticketmaster checkout today I accidentally entered a typo in my zip code, thus canceling my $482 pit ticket. I saw it as a sign to just wait.

I’m hoping I can find those a bit cheaper soon. I’m really wanting to go all out this time around because I’ve decided it will be the last time I see GNR, so why not? On the other hand, I know damn well that during the 7 minute park of KOHD I will be asking myself if it was even worth it.

Having just seen them again last December, after 5 years since their previous Australian tour, I must say, I did really enjoy the show.

But at this point, probably the 3rd or 4th time around to the same places, towns and cities, is anyone really that excited by this announcement?

Most hardcores are like “meh” and I bet even a lot of casuals feel that way too.

Watching the Australian shows on YouTube, I really thought they were some of the best shows since 2017. Promising. Just hope his voice still has some HP when they come to the US
