Tyler did vocal surgery when his voice started to mess up. Same deal with Adele and many other singers.
Axl should have taken time off after 2018 and done the same.
Who knows, maybe he did that between 2002 and 2006

Slash/duff jointly leaving may restart another Velvet Revolver hopefully with Izzy also back on board.
Hopefully with Josh Todd on vocals

Great album Indeed!
You got a favorite song?
Easier Lying, King Of The World, and Executioners Song are highlights for me

It would be over but I'd go see an Axl Rose band again. Highly doubt it would be called Guns N' Roses.

You never seen Mickey with a few drinks in him. Mean Drunk. He’d headbutt a statue for looking at him wrong. There was also that rumour he did time for murder before he got into the cartoons. -

Yeah I wouldn't mind that at all.
I'd like Duff to get back to Loaded really, do something new with them.
Always thought Loaded was the best post gnr project after VR. The Taking is one of my favorite records

Would anyone else prefer to hear a Loaded song instead of Raw Power or whatever Duff usually sings? Loaded was a badass band

Was Caram the producer? To me the song has a feel of: Do it. Do it now. Forget it. I don't care. Release it now.
The new guitars on Hard Skool and the lack of that slow intro is what bugs me, but maybe the songs have that effect in many of us is because they leaked many years before, we've got used to these songs, and they are just old songs. It's like rerecording You Could Be Mine with different guitars.
Yeah the old intro was beautiful. The whole school bell feels like such a gimmick but I do like duffs bass line

WHAT WAS THE LOGIC TO BUTCHER HARD SKOOL?
I’m curious as to what happen there myself
Caram did a beautiful job on CD (even Absurd is solid) but Hard Skool is just so LOUD. The least dynamic range on any gnr track.
anyone wondering what I’m talking about, go listen to the whole song. It’s like the same energy all the way thru. To be fair, that’s just how songs a mixed and mastered these days, so unfortunate. I’d get a headache listening to a whole album of near clipping 😂

I like Garden of Eden. Paradise City is pretty cool
I love Estranged, Don’t Cry, and November Rain and songs but the videos aren’t really my style as far as music videos go

I liked how well you could hear pitman in the mix during the 2001/2002 tour. It was really cool on songs like Rocket Queen. Sucks they never kept the industrial sounding keyboard throughout the rest of the CD tour

just because you gather all the people that were responsible for something great that happened more than 3 decades ago when they were very different people doesn't mean the result would have anything to do with what they managed to create once.
Very true, I like to dream though 🤣
Also agree that any modern attempt to appetite styled lyrics would probably come off as off putting from a 60 year old man
-
Was chattin with a buddy/fellow gnr fan at work the other day and we were talking about how it would be cool to get the rest of the franksteined “GnFn’R” post-CD tracks but at the end of the day wouldn’t it be cool if they just finished their legacy with an album by the original 5 guys?
a proper sequel to appetite with the “real gnr” would be such a cool way to finish things off and I’d give my left nut for it
having Steven and Izzy back just for the studio would be so cool and wouldn’t imply that they have to tour with that lineup
-
Josh is a such an underrated member of GNR.
crazy to think they went through 3 drummers to record the album (and 2 of them we’re essentially re’recording what Josh played note for note). But I do respect that the album reflected the band that released it 2008 the best it could.

No... But in the real world if the singer sounds awful then it doesn't matter what the rest of the band does.
Yes, he's up on stage running around and trying... But on average he sounds bad/poor on the majority of gigs so... Gnr could play a 6hr gig and Axl could run at full speed all over the stage but if he voice isn't good then it doesn't matter a shit.
Gnr fans are the only music fans that go to a gig and say "it doesn't matter if he sings bad, the other guys are great"🤣 it's so fucking dumb🤣
I'm open to the extension 😄
i think for most people on this forum, it’s more about seeing your favorite band live.
if i weren’t a huge fan, the show would need to be fantastic

they should add Judas Priest’s “Electric Eye” to their set and dedicate it to the drones

currently listening to RCHP 50th new song this year while reading this thread in depression 🤣

apparently we are speaking very slowly

honestly, maybe Axl didn’t really care about album sales. He probably would’ve made a different album if that were the case
i respect that

Josh played with slash, duff, and matt before VR was officially formed. Always thought Buckcherry sounded a lot like VR stylistically. Would be cool but I can only dream
