  1. If The General ends up being a longer song, then with all that room, maybe they'll hide My World 2 a secret track on the Perhaps side!
  2. yeah, the lowkey release of The General is strange. Are they waiting for people to react to it to see if it's worth putting the effort in promoting it any further? is it some really personal subject matter in the song that doesn't feel fun to promote? they're planning to promote it at some further date in the future because they have more plans? it's a curious decision. and why now, and why with Perhaps? Is it just a random opportunity, or is the General and Perhaps somehow connected (or complete opposites) in theme?
  3. This Beach Boys song is only around 4 minutes long but still feels like a bit of a journey. If The General is only this long but uses its time well, then maybe it won't be so bad. (But I hope that it would be longer)
  4. Someone's going to wake up, see all this chatter and new pages, think something has leaked, and it turns out it's just people discussing MSL.
  5. Alright, who here has too much time and wants to go digging for it to see if the page for it is archived anywhere? https://web.archive.org/web/20130330161301/http://www.chinesedemocracy.com/forum/index.php edit: nevermind, clicked on the thread saying "MSL talks about new songs he has heard", and it isn't archived
  6. could any of you have seen this apparent list on one of those other gnr forums that have gone defunct? or were you frequenting the forums that are active now back then as well?
  7. Used a spare cheap laptop for this. It's a 4 second video file labeled "MSL Maybe_we_should_talk.mp4" containing a man saying "maybe we should talk, maybe we should talk, maybe we should speak, maybe we should speak", in multiple cuts.
  8. The fanbase is full of trolls and fakes and foolery. Sometimes it's so stupid that it's funny. Maybe the fanbase should use its collective trolling power to terrorise another fanbase on april fool's day. What are some hoaxes you remember? I'll start off with the "Axl Rose died" hoax that Axl responded to in a tweet: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/music-news/axl-rose-responds-online-death-753863/
  9. If you're referring to this post, I saw the rumour mentioned on another forum before that, although that poster reckoned the (not specified) source and rumours was dubious
  10. If this 56 page legal letter exists, I hope it leaks. I want to read it! Do other artists releasing songs have rumoured 10s of pages of consequences, or is it only Guns N Roses that gets those rumours/does those things? Seriously though, 56 pages. Exactly how many consequences could there be? 1. You get your ass sued to bankruptcy. 2. You lose a whole bunch of assets. 3. You go to jail. What else? You get your ass personally beat by every member of Guns N Roses, and the screams get recorded for the next single (but you get no royalties)? They drain your blood and use that to decorate their next round of merch? They pull your eyes out and use the photo as the picture for the single Eye On You? Imagine being the lawyer who has to write these rumoured 56 pages. Where did the 56 pages rumour originate from? Is it just that youtube comments section, or did it appear somewhere else before that?
  11. The 27th will roll around, but we will still have to wait a day or two or several for it to arrive at people's houses bah! can't even celebrate on the 27th because of the waiting period! the few days after the 27th will feel like a crawl
  12. Someone on reddit says Universal Music gave them a refund out of the blue, that they didn't ask for (They had the canadian universal music store https://old.reddit.com/r/GunsNRoses/comments/17c97pq/looking_forward_to_the_announced_release_day/k5rnooo/ Anyone else that bought from the Canadian store that's going through the same thing? Also everything from the Guns N Roses category disappeared in the Canadian store https://www.umusic.ca/collections/guns-n-roses Guns N Roses hates Canada confirmed?
  13. Duff mail: A message from Duff: Some of the fruit of my musical travails and triumphs are now available for mass listenership with the release of LIGHTHOUSE. Over the past fifteen or so years, I’ve delved into a songwriting area that seems to me, harkens back to my punk days in the simplicity of the chords, and trying to tell truths in the lyrics. Like the name of me and Susan’s radio show, I let ‘Three Chords and the Truth’ guide me when I sit down with a guitar. From the beginning song LIGHTHOUSE, a sort of illumination of goodness and hope, to the ending track I JUST DON’T KNOW…where there is a pondering of what is next-my thought process of the songs that fill in the rest of the album are there is an arc of a story. I am a huge reader of good books, and like a good novel, I tried for some rises and falls from beginning to end, lyrically at least. I absolutely love my new studio in Seattle, and realize I am a fortunate dude to have my own place to constantly create. I’m even more fortunate to have producer Martin Feveyear as my guide and mentor. We had that period of the pandemic, where it was just Martin and I in the studio for months on end. These ten songs on LIGHTHOUSE are just the beginning of what we finished song-wise in this time. More to come on that…..but for now, we hope you enjoy this record. I tried to play as many of the instruments as I could on these recordings, as there were at times, no other choices! I got to play drums again, which I love to do. Learned finger picking on the acoustic to broaden the scope of what my guitar could do for me. Threw in a fretless bass in for some stuff….and just generally tried spread my musical wings. I’d like to thank the players on this record, and I’m truly honored to make music with all of them: Tim DiJulio-guitar Ryan Burns-keys Martin Feveyear-keys and synths and vox Jamie Douglas-drums Slash-lead guitar on HOPE Abe Laborieux-drums on HOPE Jerry Cantrell-lead guitar and backing vox on I JUST DON’T KNOW Iggy Pop-the LIGHTHOUSE reprise Aubrey Richmond-backing vox Shaina Shepard-backing vox Andrew Joslyn-string arrangements - Duff
  14. And I thought it was starting to get uneventful, but steadily creeping towards the release date, and then this last minute drama pops up! I don't know what's going on with which artists uses which pressing plants, and how many vinyl pressing plants there are out there, or how vinyl production works, but considering this release date how possible is it that other artists had dibs on the vinyl pressing plants in certain countries? How many other people are releasing vinyls around this date?
  15. Here's the auto-generated-captions. Vimeo is a a pain not letting people download it all, and progressively loading it so ctrl+a doesn't work. I had to copy-paste it paragraphs by paragraphs. Hopefully I didn't accidentally miss out some or put them in the wrong place. Since they're auto-generated, there's no differentiation between when Jerry or Duff talks, you'll have to download the video to double check the captions and who says it. " And we flew back to Seattle. And then I was just in, you know, man, and, and songwriting, I don't have to tell you any of this s**t, but songwriting, you know, you're in a place that's comfortable and you're getting results. It begets more songwriting. Sure. Yeah. And it just, I, like, I'd go home for the night and I'd write two more pieces. Yeah. You know, Martin, I got two more song ideas. Of course you do. You know, and, and at the end of this thing, I ended up with nearly 60 songs, have nearly 60 songs. So Money in the bank, always. You know, it's always good having that many, uh, gr great ideas to be able to pull out and use, you know what I mean? " The real Chinese Democracy 3 is the hoard of Duff songs
  16. so it was 1 hr and 11 minutes long. the video of the stream will be available for a day or two i think. https://vimeo.com/875654235/a360541ebb (you can download the video for offline use) they didn't really read anything that was happening live online, but it was a nice long talk.
  17. 44 minutes in, he starts answering fan questions (about his solo work) that were submitted through his website.
