I've seen both live. It depends who you're into. For me Aerosmith would've been worth paying much more for than I did. I saw Whitesnake when they double headlined with Def Leppard, as I wanted to see Leppard and wasn't massively fussed about Whitesnake. Whitesnake put on a great show and a Whitesnake fan would be impressed, but it didn't leave me wanting to see them again.

Amanda Palmer and The Grand Theft Orchestra next month.
-
Disco Heaven- Lady Gaga

They're a great band with a consistent back catalogue, but are lyrically horrendous.

May I interject here that I got to shake hands with Billy at Download.
Still voted Sid though.

This video simultaneously disgusts yet fascinates me.

Nigella Lawson.
She'd have to Yorkshirefy that accent though.
-
Panama, Van Halen.

A colleague has roped me into seeing a Thin Lizzy tribute on Friday.

There's a very informative biog of Verdi on BBC iPlayer at the moment.

How was Alice Cooper? Would love to see him....
I saw Alice back in 2005. He was a lot of fun, played a pretty good selection of tunes too.

seems pretty fun!
I suddenly want to quit metal. A Psy gig looks like the happiest place on earth.

TygerStrike's sig reminded me that last night, I met a lady who has seen The Beatles live.
It's so difficult to pick the best concert I've been to, but in terms of fulfilling a 'must see' it was Aerosmith at Download. That entire afternoon was epic, actually.
The bands I've not seen yet, but would love to: Metallica, Crüe, the Stones, Pearl Jam, Sabbath (will see them in December), Foo Fighters and Rammstein.

The IT Crowd was awesome.

Overheard in a gig queue:
*Dad takes teenage daughter and her friend to gig*
Friend: "So are you into Dad Rock?"
Dad: "Well I have seen Judas Priest 17 times".

I enjoy Prince, but by heck, he is overrated.
Gracii, why would you lie like that?
I get that he's good...very good. I have a few of his albums. But the first time I heard When Doves Cry, I was disappointed. Just found it a bit boring. Yes, he can make a good dancey pop song, and I can't fault his musicianship or performance style. But people talk about him as if he is something really special...like up there with David Bowie kind of special...and I just don't see it.

if you've seen one drum solo, you've seen them all.
If someone has to be the devil's advocate... Halestorm do an impressive drum solo involving the four of them. Though before I saw them, I was totally in your shoes.

We don't have one. We don't share much of a taste in music and have been together so long that we don't care about that lovey dovey stuff...
Though lately he has been playing Crazy Little Thing Called Love on his uke a lot. That'll do.

It really depends on the band playing. When I saw Loaded support BSC, there were only a small group of us standing at the front going crazy for Loaded. I was like, wtf, it's your chance to see a member of a truly legendary band live, and you won't even enjoy yourself?! But then BSC came on, and the change in the pit was so dramatic, it got to the point where people were punching each other for no reason! It was by far the most dangerous show I've been to, (and this is from someone who got kicked in the face by crowd surfers three times at Download!)
It was Newcastle though.
What was the size of the venue? I think it has a bit to do with it.
Hmm...probably about 600-800ish?

*Scrolls through iPod*
You Got The Love, Candi Staton
The Boys Of Summer, Don Henley
Plenty more, but aren't on my 4gb iPod, so can't remember them all.

Weird video, Bee Gees backing vocals, sexy disco.

My vote would've been Pulp Fiction, but Django was really, really very good.

Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake and Palmer grew up in the town I live now.
Where I grew up: Shed Seven and One Night Only.
I've lived in many different areas, Yorkshire has produced Def Leppard, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, etc but Yorkshire's massive so I can't claim for those.
The city I went to uni in has a house where Black Sabbath stayed for a few months before making it big. It's next door to the Institute for the Deaf, ironically.
