  1. I wouldn't say any films defined my childhood because ny childhood wasn't fictional, nor reflected in any motion picture.

However the films I remember enjoying were Hook, Aladdin and Grease. I've not seen Hook since being a kid, but Aladdin and Grease are both in my DVD collection. Growing up and realising that falling in love is not done young, with someone as cute as John Travolta was, nor your sweetheart dancing a lot, was disappointing.

  2. I never thought I'd be making this post, but I've just re-discovered Neil Diamond. Because my Mum always listened to him, I gained an immediate distaste and a good knowledge for his back catalogue. I'd always admit that I thought he had a great voice for pop music, and he's a pretty good pop song writer. Listening to Cracklin' Rosie new- great summer sound. Anyone else outside his target demographic enjoy his music?

  3. I still rent DVDs from the library which I live next door to. It's cheap (£1.60-£2.50), I don't have to download anything and I'm not tied in to a monthly charge. They also have a good selection of world cinema to choose from. It suits my lifestyle, and is something I never did when younger. To me, I couldn't ask for anything better right now. No need to miss anything!

  4. Legally Blonde. I can't bring myself to see the musical, but there are a few interesting/funny characters in there, such as David Kidney and Paulette. The sunshiney soundtrack and the overtly feminine visual quality make it excellent brain mush.

Plus, she gets the guy in the end.

  5. Joan's hot (gotta love a fellow redhead, even if she is a bottle red)...

I thought I was over the teenage 'If only I looked like her...' attitude, until I saw Christina Hendricks.

Perfect body, beautiful face, and the Mad Men costume dept. make all her clothes to fit her exactly, which helps. Normal women who have a figure like hers don't have such luxuries.

  6. My bet is on Don jumping from his office window on the last episode.

Edit: I also want to see Peggy get married, but I don't think that's her priority and it probably won't happen.

I love the show, but I don't think the storylines are as tight as they used to be.

(Working my way through Season 5 DVD now, you need to have Sky to watch it on TV in the UK.

  7. Firstly, apologies for it not being anything to do with GN'R, but I thought some of you may be interested in this since it's early '90s rock, Slash played on Lenny's album etc...

To the point, I am selling a Lenny Kravitz ticket on ebay for his Newcastle show on 24th June 2009, with a starting price of £9.99, way below face value because I can no longer get to the show. click here if you are interested.

    Thanks.

  8. On Tuesday I will see Black Stone Cherry for the third time this year. With Sevendust and Stone Gods.

So far this year I have seen:

    Def Leppard

    Whitesnake

    Black Stone Cherry (x2)

    Sons of Albion

not many I suppose. but I've also had dinner with one of the guitarists of Bad Company. That was VERY surreal! Very Spinal Tap!

  9. A week on Tuesday I'm going to see Sevendust support Black Stone Cherry. I had a browse online, and they have a bigger back catalogue then I expected them to have considering they are a support band, and have been around longer than BSC have. I'm wanting to know, which album to buy, just so I know a few of their songs for the show. Whatever you recommend.

    Thanks :)

  10. Ive had an idea...the software on my computer must convert the files from the CDs to ATRACs. is it worth it to try and burn a disc full of WMAs I've downloaded, then upload the CD to that software, which then can transfer the tracks to my MP3 player? A hassle, but does anybody know if thia would work before I try?

  11. I have a Sony MP3 player that only plays ATRAC MP3s. Since the player was bought just a year ago, Sony have since abandoned their Connect music store, which sold ATRACs. Great news. I'm finding it difficult to find an online music store that sells ATRACs. Please can anybody help with this? I'm looking for a pay-per-track site with no subscriptionneeded. Their website gives absolutely no help at all.

    Thanks.

  12. I Got The Way - Kate Miller-Hedike

Make It Last - Kate Miller-Heidke

Shamless promotion of her music, but hopefully it'll cheer you up as well :).

Funky, since you normally take the piss out of me, you were hardly my favourite forum member, but I think you're ok now you suggested those songs, love the piano part on the first one especially, although I'm not really into that kind if pop music, so thankyou :)

    Night Flight by led zep.

Also thanks for suggesting this, I've favourited it, its a great song :)

Morning. The sun is shining. Life's a miracle!

Definately my favourite of them all so far, yey! :)

  13. Ok, list songs that make you feel better no matter what. Even the cheesy ones that youre not supposed to admit to as you are a hardcore GNR fan with Axl tattooed on your ass.

(Yes, i need something new to listen to that doesnt make me want to stab myself)
