  1. Duff is a shit bassist but a great person, Tommy is a shit person and an ok bassist.

What don't you like about Duff's bass writing / playing. Even Tommy said once he got into playing Duff's parts he respected him a lot more as a musician.

  2. If Queen could move on and do shows/tours without his frontman, Guns can do the same. Easily.

Freddie Mercury died, and the members of Queen that toured with Paul Rodgers are the members of Queen that are actually known for being in Queen.

You put this line up at any festival without Axl and the whole crowd will go... Who the fuck are these guys?

  3. There isn't an important member aside from Axl.

Inaccurate, as always. Why didn't they play Rock in Rio back when Buckethead left then? If there's no important member aside from Axl, they should have played the festival, no problem.

You have to do a search for a new guitar player who can play the parts, audition them, set schedule etc. That shit takes a while. Common sense dude.

True that. I believe Bumblefoot had already been asked at that point but declined. He said he kicked around the idea for about two years if I'm not mistaken

  4. If they give you a specific date then they're basically going to disappoint you. I think this will be released next year. :shrugs:

I still believe that's a dumb move from whoever is behind this. They should've released a 2010 gig.

    Agree.

And people still defend Axls voice LOL. Amazing how shitty youtube recordings make Axl sound bad. You need a true pro shot to hear how great Axl truly is live. LMFAO!

  5. The last thing I read about a new GNR CD was that we could see it some time in 2014. I for one hope it's true. As much as I've always been a fan of the original lineup, I really love DJ, Bumblefoot, Tommy, Frank, Richard, and Chris. Axl's the man for seeking some love for "his boys" because they have taken a lot of shit over the years. OOPS! I started to rant for a second there. Redheads are known to do that! :D

Axl's seeking love for his boys? LOL

  6. On a side note, what a killer riff. The band sounded incredibly awesome right after Axl's crybaby rant.

This is back when Guns N' Roses was Guns N' Roses. You don't hear any riffs that even come near it on CD. Yet people say that the 'IRS' riff is sick and that it is such an amazing 'Rocker' LOL. This is one example where Sorum kicks ass.

I think the point is that everyone but Axl is replaceable, and no one is as important as him. Which is 100 Percent true. Once you replace Slash, everyone else is just as replaceable. .

  8. I wish this band had played out the way axl led us to believe it would. Then finck pitman and bucket would have been extremely important. Now it really doesn't matter. Just anyone who can play guns material will do.

I see Axl carrying on no matter who leaves.... as long as he wants to make money. Although I feel like part of the reason why they keep touring without releasing a record is because so many members have left and been replaced. I feel that if it was the same band before Bucket left that CD 2 would have been released already, however him quitting and Bumble going and redoing his guitar parts per Axl's request initiated an editing session of the majority of tracks that perhaps still continues to this day.

  9. He's definitely not running like he did just 3 years ago, but the mobility he has on stage does not come from a man who needs a cane.

Maybe he does have knee problems... but to me it's more likely that he's out of shape with no injuries and uses it for style.

  10. On one level I hated what he did to the solos, on another hand I loved it. It's grown on me the more Ron noodles with them and I now prefer listening to what Bucket did over Ron. Buckethead definitely seemed bored as shit at times. One Word. Nightrain. Loved It.

  11. I have sympathy with BBF wanting the band to work this way. Its everyones idealised vision of how good bands work but he knows that Axl hasn't worked this way since AFD and is hardly likely to start now. It must be frustrating though if he believes that jamming together is what is holding them back, not sure I agree that is the case but he clearly feels that.

And AFD still remains the greatest album he's ever done. This should tell Axl something.

Yes but that was then and I'm not convinced it would work now with the current set up. They should at lesst give it a shot though.

I think it would. I quite enjoy the jams on Maddy, NT and PC. To me that shows potential if the band sat down together and jammed. I feel part of the problem with CD is that style wise it was all over the place because you had people with different influences writing different songs. If those people sat down together and wrote an album then they could write an album A to Z that flowed with its own uniqueness. Rather than an industrial track here, a ballad there, a hip hop intro there. To me the lack of flow of CD is disturbingly apparent and is a direct result of the band never really creating as a unit, but separately creating and then Axl dumping tracks on top of tracks.

  12. There was this dumb chick in high school that smoked on the patch and got nicotine poisoning. Is it possible that DJ is such an idiot that he overdosed on nicotine? Maybe. 33 packs a day? Bullshit. He is such an attention whore. If he could just stop sucking things that remind him of little white dicks, he'd be fine.

You know for the first part of 2009/10 tour I tolerated him, now I just can't stand him... I wish Richard was the "Lead" guitarist.

I was very excited around 2006 when Richard said that between him and Robin they had all the guitar parts covered in rehearsal. We have probably the best fit for GNR in Richard as far as Classic Rock guitar is concerned and yet we have to tolerate people less talented than him getting all the solo spots. It is truly an injustice.

  14. Bumblefoot is one of the worst guitarists i have ever heard

You should check out this guy... his name is Robin Finck.

    Artistically, No

    Technically, one of the best.

I personally like Fortus better as he seems to have more of a classic rock sound.

IMO Axl has wasted the last 11 years by not collaborating on an entire album with Fortus. He is really missing the boat by not having made a great Rock album with the guy. I have more faith in Fortus to create a classic rock record than Bumble, Finck, DJ, Paul, Bucket and Tommy combined. Why he is so underutilized is just a crime against great musicians.

  15. It is already established that Ashba is man enough to make demos on his own to run past Axl as possible demo ideas for GN'R stuff. He has atleast said so and judging by what I know probably has done so in reality aswell. Bumble keeps repeating this catered-to-the-fans mantra of, "we've yet to get in a room together and jam", which translates into him wanting to get paid more to write music, or even jam. Which doesn't sit right with me. Why does he even keep saying that, does he really enjoy making Axl look bad that much? I'm calling you out. You greedy mofo.

I look at it like this. Any music that is submitted to Axl becomes GNR music even if it isn't recorded and can't be used in other projects. What you call manning up from DJ, I call being stupid and wasting his ideas. What you call greedy from BBF is what I'd call protective.

Good Point. Bumble is the guy that has made the only recording featuring the full lineup of this band.. The Pink Panther. Maybe he just wants to collaborate and make something that is a product from the whole band. I'd prefer it that way. CD doesn't sound like a band, it sounds like a bunch of guys playing over what other guys wrote. No flow, no Rhythm.

  16. Chinese Democracy was an excellent collection of songs, the closest thing to old school rock that has come out in 20 years.

And there is absolutly no reason why "Sorry", "Madagascar" and "Street of Dreams" to name 3, shouldnt have been mainstream radio songs. And in the 70's or 80's they would have been.

    He simply missed the boat.

How is anything on CD the closest thing to old school rock that has come out in the last 20 years. Not even CLOSE. It's not even Rock. It's experimental industrial ballads with a hip hop beat. Even if you only followed former GNR members material that nullifies your argument right there.

And how could those three be mainstream radio songs in the 70's or 80's. They're slow, and boring no matter what era you put them in.
