  1. I don't think he had a terrible problem with it. Considering his best friend (Izzy) sold it out his window Axl had easy access. With the money he eventually made and doing it, it is truly amazing that he never had a serious problem with it.... Thankfully.

  2. Keidis and Vedder sounded fantastic on Youtube. Axl sounded and still sounds incredibly awful and weak.

My girlfriend is a very casual Pearl Jam fan and she asked me "who the hell is signing?" when she heard them play Lolapalooza.

My girlfriend is a very casual Guns N' Roses fan and when I was watching Rio 2011 she said "that's gotta be the worst impersonation of Axl Rose I have ever heard", when I told her it was Axl Rose, she couldn't stop laughing.

So you agree you can't judge performances via youtube!

No, because he sounded incredibly awful at Rio.

That's not what the people who actually attended the show think.

Outside this forum? I doubt it. It's not like we have thousand of users who attended to that gig. I saw Axl's band in 2010 and he sounded great. I saw Axl's band in 2012 and he sounded utterly awful. I was able to compare both gigs since I was there. You can't tell me or trick me with that Youtube bullshit. It's pure horseshit and I think you know that deep inside.

Some People would disagree because they are such 'Die Hard Axlites' that they can't rationally judge a live performance. On the other hand I know what you are talking about.

  3. What a rapid and sad decline of this band we have seen since 07. The energy and enjoyment appear to be all but gone now.

When i saw GNR in 2002 Axl was all over the place, maybe the vocals were weak but the stage presence were amazing. It declined a little in 2006 but the vocals were way stronger. Even the 2010 Shows were quite good, and since then especially it just seems like the front man is going through the motions and the vocals are the weakest they've ever been (IMO)

  4. I apologize that people think that this is trolling. I've supported Guns for a long time (1989) and was only speaking my mind.... I've been disappointed in the level of Axl's live vocals and the lack of progress as far as recording and writing new material.

If you are completely satisfied with Axl's vocals after 2010 and the bands effort in writing and releasing new music.... Awesome, Obviously this poll is not for you.

In no way was I mocking the Mods, I said whatever due to not totally understanding the way the new rules go... Perhaps a poor choice of words on my part. I have always appreciated the level of freedom to be honest and have an open mind here, some other sites won't let you do that.

    1. Scraped - Total FIller, Boring, Annoying Double Vocals

IRS - So Much Potential but Completely Repetitive... I hate Robins Boring bends, The Garden Part Kicks Ass

Better - I love the Melodic Chords, Stupid Intro Vocals Tho, Pretty Cool, Love Robins Solo

Rhiad The Bedouins - Hate The Vocals, Don't Like the Song

Chinese Democracy - Rock You Like a Hurricane Rip Off... Intro is way too Long

Shacklers Revenge - Pretty Cool, Nothing Special, But an Okay Song

Oh My God - My Favorite of the Bunch, I had a lot of hope for this band when I heard this Demo

Silkworms - I hope they've improved this one.

  5. I really like the song. It's a funny song to put on if you and your girl are doing it in the back door. J/K I've never done that.

Hey does anyone have a high quality version of the song? I think it was recorded with the lies sessions... I used to have a copy of it but I lost it. Anyone know where I can get a copy? I lost this and Live Like a Suicide without the fake crowd noise if anyone would be willing to help me out.

  6. I know there are some new rules and stipulations and whatever... but I'm not trying to hate.

It's just I was looking up Nightrain Rock AM Ring. And not only doesn't it seem like the same band anymore, it doesn't even seem like the same frontman. So I'm just curious, as nut-swingers transform to haters before the trainwreck that is GNR.... Is it due to no new music, or the horrendous live shows Axl does these days. If it's somethin else feel free to mention.

So far so good, but we ask that people check the nutswinger, slashite etc. etc. comments at the door.

It's fine in Attitude if provocation is the goal, we're trying to steer this section towards civil conversations.

    Thanks

    continue..

I'll retract my nut-swinger comment and replace it with blind loyalists. I'm honestly not trying to put anyone down I'm just trying to see the breaking point of most die hard fans when it comes to this band. Thanks for keeping the thread alive.

  7. White an awesome idea... If Slash can't get through to Axl what makes anyone think we can get through? Unless we ask stupid questions about his Halloween Tree, I doubt that we will get any real insight. What Axl really needs is an intervention by people who aren't using his fortune and fame to live off of. People that truly care about him and his success, not people that use him for their own benefit.

  8. Chinese democray is all about Axl rose life. But as Axl said one time, its time to move on Axl!

who bet that the next álbum ( if theres one) will be filled of that kind of lyrics. The war is in Axl mind, not in Slash,Duff and co.He is the only one who can not face the others in the same room.

Remember the story of slash going to Axl mansión? Beta said that he wasnt in the house, but i can imagine him listening with his ear in the door waiting for Slash to go.

Yes... Even though Slash was Drunk Beta single-highhandedly ruined probably the only chance of reconciliation that there will ever be. I was so upset when I heard the story because I know that if Slash had gotten the chance to sit down with Axl one on one that night, there was a slim chance that Axl and Slash might have made up. Damn You Team Brazil.

  9. The first time me and my dad saw GnR in Calgary, one of the first things my dad said after the show was "Holy shit, he's actually crazy. He's insane. You can see it in his eyes! He's so intense!". People simply don't say that about the current shows, he hides behind the glasses and hat, and even though you can tell he's into the show and having a good time, he's not intense about it, he's not mentally in a place where he's delivering the emotions that he was trying to convey when writing the song. He's not living it. He's just singing.

This is actually a good perception and to me pretty spot on about Axl's recent performances. He used to be so connected to the material and one of the best performers in history (IMO), but lately he's just not. He seems so disconnected. Before I thought it was just an issue of rasp, but going back to 2002, those performances with clean vocals were light years ahead of anything he does today.

  10. I feel like Axl turned on us. He doesn't seem to give a fuck anymore. Just goes through the motions in these quick nostalgic cash grabs.

And you only get what you give.

I can see where you are coming from. Many of us were standing behind Axl and this new band when the entire world was talking shit about them and saying that Axl could not succeed based upon a new band. I had been openly supporting this new band and Axl's vision since Oh My God came out in 1999. And when Axl went on tour in 2009 I said Look, he's supporting a new album, he's following thru, his voice is top shape... This continued into 2010. Then 2011 Hit. The ambitious red head behind the mic started giving lack-luster performances. He added songs like 'The Seeker' and 'Don't Let it Bring You Down' to the set list with his ever deteriorating voice. The songs he was killing off of CD such as Chicken Dinner started being sung clean, songs like Better and This I Love started being sung clean. After Adding Cool Throwbacks such as Estranged and Civil War the sets started getting shorter and seeing less CD material. Every show that was either live streamed, recorded for DVD or broadcast over the radio featured embarrassing vocals by Axl. Not only did they lack the trademark rasp, which Axl had killed with in 2006 / 2007 / 2009 / and 2010... But his clean vocals were out of breath, and far from strong. Instead of seemingly moving forward to capture their own identity, this GNR seemed more reliant on the past, the nostalgia in Advertisements, Merchandise, and Setlists to function and perform. How many years can Axl and Crew shrug off questions about new music. After DJ prominently boasted about a new record being their number one priority in 2009 / 2010 he and his bandmates have been making excuses such as 'Life Get's in the Way.' Since.

For the amount of money Axl must shell out to keep this Rock N' Roll Train Going... He should at least utilize them to make one more record. At least before his voice totally goes. I know it's there... I think he's just lazy.

Should have had another option for all the above

Everything you just typed is bullshit.

Horrendous live shows? Ok buddy not the shows I been too last month.

Dude, you jizzed your pants just from them announcing the shows(your words not mine!), of course your Gonna think there the greatest thing since sliced bread

Sorry It's so late, but I did add the third option

  12. I love this band, I'm just highly disappointed at what Axl does with it. I woulda gone to 1993 Hartford but my rents said I was too young and that I could go see 'em when they came back.

same with the montreal riot... i bitched for weeks to go, and gotta big fat "i told ya so" after the riot lol then had to wait till 2010 to see em again... i wont lie, that kinda pissed me off, but fuck man, look at how much great music theyve all given us... i think about that alot... im really greatful that we have the music we do have... do i wanna hear more ? fuck yeah ! but even if i never do, the music i do currently have from the band is reason enough to keep supporting them

Dude you were at the Montreal riot?

    Me too ^_^

I was pissed at the time but looking back I was part of GNR history.

    2012 Roseland, 2011 Hartford, 2006 Jersey, 2006 NYC, 2002 Hartford.

Aren't you from South America? Anyone that was see them live would not have your point of view.

agreed... metropolis was fuckin awesome !

@ OP - whens the last time you saw GNR live ? (youtube doesnt count)

    Metropolis was EPIC

I'm from North America LOL. Like You, but in the non Canada Part.

Cool wtf why did I think you're from South America?

Anyway don't worry bro new music will come out also the bluray

Maybe it was the eyeliner pic? Lol. I hope so... All I want is for Axl to try just a little harder with this GNR thing.
