One of Slash's best friends - Marc Canter said on HTGH that Slash would not let Axl work on the songs that ended up being on the Snakepit record. Axl wanted to work on at least four of them, but Slash wouldn't let him.

Axl has already said that he respects the opinions of those who elect not to look forward with regard to GNR. If that's the way the OP feels, then so be it...That being said, what more is there to gain from a post like this? You feel the way you feel, fine, but it's obvious that you may be in the wrong forum.

I feel like we were all privy to a spiritual exorcism this weekend. What an immense sense of relief Axl must feel to purge all of this toxic baggage.

I posted this in another forum but feel the need to say it here as well...

I think the point that most are missing when they read this is the fact that Guns N' Roses is a part of Axl in a very personal way. Although the ex-members part is interesting, to me as a Guns N' Roses fan it means more to me that Axl wants, needs, and will do anything to preserve Guns N' Roses. I personally would rather wait another 15 years for a CD that was made by somebody who will refuse to compromise their and the bands core beliefs than to have a record every year for the sake of buckling under commercial and corporate pressure. Chinese Democracy is a true example of the quality you get when there is true love for the material and the band the creator represents.

Thank you for putting yourself on the line to communicate this to us. I am truly proud to have supported this band through the best and worst of times

Can we permanently cease the reunion chatter now? If anything was made clear tonight, whether you might agree or not, Axl is looking forward. I'm not saying whether it's right or wrong, what the proper financial decision should be, whether or not the new band will sell 17 million albums, I'm just laying it out there the way Axl truly views it. That past is long gone.

That's tremendous...I know everyone was feeling great after the one-off NME show in the spring. Avery at the time said no promises, but he was "opening up" to the idea of future Jane's work, with his only reservation being that they "needed more focus." Perry came out a few weeks later and said there was "a better chance of commercial space flights." Avery was later quoted as saying he felt like Perry has unnecessarily "separated him from his child."

I can only hope they've sorted whatever there was to rectify out and that they are moving full steam ahead. I had no idea this happend...Total shock to my system.

Im the one who posted the sku #s for the cds. The only reason i saw them is because i have been asking the media mgr everytime i go to Best buy for the last year or so. Today he said he found something in the rss system that he wanted to show me when i was in there today. He showed me 3 different cds for chinese democracy with sku #s and upcs with a $13.99 price point and 3 different sku #s and upcs for LPs priced at $ 19.99 each I posted the 3 skus i remembered which were the first 3 listed were all cds i didnt remember the other skus for lps because each sku has 3 different last #S. i asked if icould write down the skus or upcs or take a picture of the screen with my cell phone and he said i couldnt be cause it is internal information and had his login name on it. Darknemus confirmed the skus for the cds later in the day. and the silentassassin posted the skus for the 3 lps and a upc which there was no way i would of remembered when i got to my truck to write down. As of right now they are only listed in the rss system. Not the online or standard in store search. But there was later october date on the screen but not where the release date of nov. 25th was listed maybe it was the date when it we be listed on the normal site. i dont know but it was in the 20s. Thats the best i could find out.So when it is listed on Best buy check the skus and you will no im not lying about what i saw.

They didn't say. I'm guessing it will be If The World. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the one that we have but we will have to wait and see. They sounded pretty stoked though.

If it isn't released..well, he looks smart because he said "nothing is confirmed", meaning it could change.

As I've said in the past, it was because of him that I got to see GNR 5 times in '06...I don't begrudge the guy, so I'll take this as a positive sign. He won't be the one breaking the news after all.
