CD makes up very little of the Chinese Democracy world tour ;)

They didn't open with Chinese Democracy (and drop Jungle)

Ron's still doing his Don't Cry thing

No new tunes - So much for a Chinese Democracy world tour. They didn't even play Chinese Democracy :D

  2. Boy what an awsome day, start of the tour and the new better leak,

    NO not the radio one

No not the pittman fantasy nutty fruit cake mix

    No not last years

The new one that kicks ass

    NEW ONE???

    yes

how much better is it? (is it some crap fan remix/clean up ;) )

  3. ..in 12 hours from now, when I wake up, it'll all be over, and no doubt this board will be alive with photo's, and people requesting bootlegs :D

The track listing will appear 1st

Really shitty mobile phone video's will be next (you can keep them ;) )

Then some good photo's shouls appear

Maybe some bootleg's will appear (or someone posting procliaming to have bootlegs that will need fixing up before posting, which will take anything up to 1 week).

when does this show start? if so what was the setlist?

Its 18:50pm, Sat, Jun 2007 here in the UK at the moment,

Its 12:50pm, Sat, Jun 2, 2007 over in Mexico

If the band take to the stage at 21:00pm then there's 8 hours to go.

Since they will not take to stage on time, you may as well add 2 or 3 hours on top :D

/It reads that I posted this 'post' at 12:50, when I posted it at 18:50

Well there's an opening act first right?

There has to been an opening group (but who?)

Are the Suicide Girls still in the picture?

  4. great pics! but where's Axl?

Axl is probably at a stripclub pre party drinking tequila.

at about 9'ish he'll be told it's time to leave, as he has a show to do.

he'll stay on for about another hour.. drinking..

after which he'll be driven to the gig or think of a reason why he doesn't want to leave the strip club :D

  6. Amazon

For what it's worth, the image has been removed. I think we it was fake any way ;)

The release date remains the same:

Availability: This title will be released on September 17, 2007. Pre-order now!

Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk.

Although the release date is probably best taken with a pinch of salt (as they say).

For an album that was due out in 2006, I can't see why they needed another year to mix it?

If Gn'R take much longer, they won't need a CD cover. In the news today, they reported how many stores (here in the UK) are dropping selling CD's, as iTunes is taking over. In the report they list CD as heading the same direction a VHS video. DVD is fading too, in favour of Hi-Def. The worlds changing too damn fast :D

  7. I recieved an email today from Amazon today too:

    Subject:

Chinese Democracy is now available to order from Amazon.

We're happy to inform you that the items you requested are now available to order from Amazon.co.uk!

    Chinese Democracy

Availability: This title will be released on

    September 17, 2007. Pre-order now!.

Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.co.uk.

    Price: £11.99

I won't be buying it, as these days I download albums before I buy them, as there's too many half ass'ed albums released.

For all I know Better could be the only track I like on the album, and for all I know, the leak'ed version just might be Better than the finnal mix.

  8. I'm really glad to see a reference to AC/DC here. AC/DC hapens to be my all time favourite band (with Guns coming second by a very small margin). AC/DC have not released an album since 2000 and the general public might not remember much about them, but they are still one of the greatest Rock N' Roll bands of all time, if not the greatest of the Hard Rock Bands. Maybe a Led Zep might come out in front. Maybe.

@ Dobadog - Black In Black is probably the pinnacle of AC/DC's raw power but it is only the beginning of the second half of the story of Acca Dacca. BIB happens to be the product of a young but experienced band at the peak of its powers, fronted by a new and dynamic frontman. For me the title of the most perfect Hard Rock album (and also that of the best Hard Rock album of the 80's) would have to be decided in a toss up between BIB and AFD, with BIB ending up just ahead. AFD might have been a debut album but BIB was released just a few months after AC/DC went through the greatest tragedy that could possibly strike a band. Imagine what it would be like if GNR were to release an album two or three months after Axl Rose had suddenly died and they had to go ahead with a new frontman, who would have to fill the shoes of a legend - that's what AC/DC did with BIB. BIB is a tribute album to the life and spirit of the legendary Bon Scott, a frontman so exceptional that in 2004, 24 years after his death, Classic Rock Magazine named him the greatest Rock Frontman of all time - this despite his having helmed AC/DC till only just after they made it really big. The band released the album just a few months after Bon Scott who was famous for his hell raising lifestyle tragically died of alcohol posioning/asphyxiation.Listen to Highway to Hell, AC/DC's last album before Black in Black. It's got almost everything that BIB has, but one thing that it doesn't - Bon Scott. While it might be true that many of the later AC/DC albums fronted by Brian Johnson do not vary much in sound and that Acca Dacca have been perhaps the only Rock Band to stick to the formula of doing what they do best without bothering to change (not even the Rolling Stones or Aerosmith can claim that), the pre Black in Black albums from the Bon Scott era - High Voltage, Let there be Rock, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Powerage, Highway to Hell, If you want Blood you've got it! and 74' Jailbreak(released after BIB) are all exceptional and in a seperate class from the later albums. They are Raw, earthy, powerful, bluesy Hard Rock N' Roll.

AC/DC have always been one of the biggest influences on GNR and on many other bands belonging to genres ranging from Heavy Metal to Hard Rock to Garage Rock and even Grunge. Listening to a song like Night Train from either AFD or by the New Guns playing it live, brings home that fact. I saw this in an old interview that Axl had given to an Argentine magazine (from around the late '90s /early 2000s -

R&P: Is your new material more industrial? We hear that it is not very similar to that of your old band.

Axl: It is not industrial, the closest thing to that was perhaps Oh My God, but there are some songs that won't be on the album that were this way. There will be all kinds of styles, many influences as blues, mixed in the songs. But not so much inspiration of Aerosmith or AC/DC that was used on Appetite. Buckethead, his first influence and the reason why he grabbed a guitar for the first time was Angus Young of AC/DC. Several of the boys love to play AC/DC. It is only we will play other styles. When we tried writing songs in the old style of Guns N' Roses, they sounded too old, they didn't sound so alive. We could not make that. And I think that that also passed with the old Guns N' Roses. The songs composed by the boys for another album many years ago, everything sounded old. Then we tried to explore to maintain the band alive.

I know that Axl was probably influenced a lot by Bon Scott (though I am yet to read about a direct acknowledgment of that by the Axe man himself) and that Angus Young definitely was an influence on Slash. I remember reading once that whenever he was out partying at a certain club and a DJ would play Whole Lotta Rosie, Axl would suddenly break out dancing and screaming to the song, pushing people out of his way and just go crazy. There is also the strange story of Mike Patton claiming that Axl believed that he was being possessed by Bon Scott's spirit - which I read from an article somewhere on this forum. Anyhow, old GNR used to play Whole Lotta Rosie live during the AFD years. I really hope that New GNR can get around to doing a studio version cover of that song. AC/DC have long been rumoured to be ready to release a new and possiblyy final album. Acca Dacca and New Guns on the same bill would be THE dream concert for me.

Highway to Hell is next on my list of wants :D

..and funny enough, Gn'Rs Nightrain is one of my favourite Gn'R songs (especially the Live Era version).

  9. Only just heard of Back in Black?

Would you happen to live under a rock?

    haha,

with so many AC/DC albums to choose from, I some how passed on them all, not knowing what to try first.

  10. You just googled Back in Black?

Glad you found it - Rock classic right there my friend

    Ac/Dc is great -

Back when AFD was big, the only AC/DC I owned was a cd single called 'Thunder Struck' which also contained two tracks called 'D.T.' and 'Chase The Ace' (both very cool tracks). A friend of mine played me the AC/DC album called Who 'Made Who' (feat. both D.T. and Chase The Ace') and I wasn't so impressed, and thus mised out on 'Back In Black', until today that is :)

  11. Back in the 80's Axl once said (while on stage) that Gn'R had been called a 'weak AC/DC'.

Back in the 80's AC/DC didn't mean much to me, although Gn'R's AFD album blew me away.

After doing some Google'ing on AC/DC it appeared that there's an album called Back In Black that is the AC/DC album to get. So I picked up the ablum and WOW WOW WEE. It really is good. And I can see why the 80's Gn'R were compared to AC/DC.

Black In Black is very easy to like. I was thinking, woudln't have been good 'if' Gn'R had taken AFD and gone onto make AFD II, and AFD III and taking the sound an AFD direction, opposed to a UYI, SI?, Chinese Democracy direction.

  12. The sounds in that Coke Zero ad reminded me of something Bond (James Bond).

Coke Zero sucks anyway. Give me Pepsi Max anyday ;)

..as for the similarities between this and IRS, I can sorta see it, but it's not as obvious as I thought it might be. I doubt there will be any legal action taken. Let's hope not anyway, as that would delay the album further.

That's given me an idea. Maybe Gn'R should write a track called 'Further'. The track would be about all the legal delays associated with Chinese Democracy (the album) :D

  13. The other day I took a listen to Faith No More's album Angel Dust, as I'd heard it was good, and sure enough I liked It (although my favourite FNM album is King for a Day, Fool for a Lifetime).

There's a track on Angel Dust called 'Be Aggressive', and as soon as I heard the chorus It sounded just like the Marilyn Manson track 'mOBSCENE' from the album The Golden Age of Grotesque.

  14. Merck is my hero! *end of story*

Merck takes a lot of shit from some Gn'R fans, but at the end of the day he was only doing his job, and like all the 'others' that are involved in Mr Rose's circle, he couldn't say much. Too bad he is gone, as i think he wanted to album out. Who is managing Gn'R these days? i think we will see Merck return. Who seeing as he sent out these letters, and making Axl to be a fool (by editing Merck's writing skills) then maybe Merck really is out of the picture

  15. BBF stated several times that he wasn't going to be on the album because it was too late. This was in July/August/September time. Then he never accepted any myspace messages from there on. Although it'll be because the messages are getting on top of him, we know he isn't one to lie. So he must have been asked during the US tour.

That article that was posted yesterday said he was recording last month for the Guns record, and in December we had an article on Frank recording. So I'm guessing around October they decided to record. HOWEVER they had a tour on and it would make things really hard.

So, when all you people think they're not doing much. I believe Guns are working there asses of in the studio recording. The management fell apart, they were in the middle of a tour, disaster struck. So, I believe they won't make the release date but are recording and doing something about it.

It's the only possible explanation. So basically January and part of December they have been recording, they probably done a lot of recording time and not a lot of days off. This is WHY everyone has remained kind of quiet. Then they have to put the 8 weeks on top of that, so late march I'm think early April at the earliest.

    Just my opinion! :)

..is Brain/Brian out of Gn'R? ..i think he could be.

  16. It's like they don't really want to promote the new band.

The real promotion for the band hasn't started yet.

now that Merck's out of the picture, who will exit next? is Brian/Brain still in the frame? will the promotion ever start? is CD really finished? 2007 could be like 2006, 2005 and 2004 :(

Looks like Buckethead's decision to quit was a good move on his part, other wise he'd still be caught up in the kinda stuff the band is going though now.

Jesus, did you not read Axl's letter?

    WHERE IS YOUR SIGN?

When are we gonna start deleteing DUMB ASS TOPICS.

Axl letter? er wasn't it like written by Merck
