  1. Yeah, and there aren't a lot of pictures from the new band either, how weird

i wonder if the new members have even set foot inside a photo studio?

  2. Thank You!

Guns N' Roses fans are back, and the band wants to thank them for the tremendous response during the opening days of concert ticket sales.

There's no mention of the closing days, and why does the shop sell t-shirts featuring old Gn'R designs. For a band trying to move forward they sure seem stuck with the past.

  3. because he thought be could have the cd out in 3 weeks when he should have known it'll take 8 weeks (to press). I think the real reason is, Axl needed an excuse to delay the album further, so Merck was fired.

  4. I'm sure he signed some sort of confidentiality agreement. Plus, that would be very unprofessional. No artisit would ever want to work with him again if he pulled some shit like that.

It wasn't very professional of Merck to do what he did by releasing versions of the letters he had composed for Axl. He really was blowing his onw trumpet, and making Axl look like a a pupper with Merck pulling the strings. Maybe this was Mercks shot at attempting to damage Axl and the band into making more delays.

  5. Now that Merck and Axl have gone their separate ways, does this leave the door open for Merck to speak all he wants about Chinese Democracy? i'm guessing he has heard the finished album. I'm sure magazines are calling him/emailing him non stop just to obtain some info. Knowing Merck he'll speak just as long as there's money waiting. Also, what the chances of Merck leaking the tracks?

  6. regarding the album, fair enough they couldnt get it out this year, but why not a single?? ......i dont blame Merck for it because if GNR had of played it smart, then a single could have easily been decided and released this year.

a single while touring was the way to properly promote a march 07 release of the album, in my eyes

I think the problem could be with Axl. The moment anything official is released, should it fail then it's over.

  7. If Frank is adding stuff to the Album (as Merck has said) does that mean Brain is no longer in the band. It wouldn't surprizr me if all Brains work was redone by Frank just becaue Frank can see some areas for improvement.

Also, if Frank is adding to the album, then the album is still not finished :(

  8. the new Guns N' Roses (which kicks the shit out of the old)

    Not cool.

But apart from that I'm too tired to read it properly.

    +1

the old badn kicked the shit out of the new line up and that includes Axl. The old Axl (young Axl) kicks the shit out of the new (old Axl).

  9. Guns N’ Roses regrets to announce that the following concert tour dates have been canceled:

    January 10: Sacramento

    January 11: Bakersfield

    January 13: Reno

    January 16: San Diego

Because of the scheduling of these particular shows, valuable time needed by the band and record company for the proper setup and release of the album “Chinese Democracy” would have been lost. Rather than delay the album yet again, all involved have decided to remove these shows from GN’R’s schedule. We hope our fans understand and we apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused. Tickets may be refunded at point of purchase.

To say the making of this album has been an unbearably long and incomprehensible journey would be an understatement. Overcoming the endless and seemingly insane amount of obstacles faced by all involved, notwithstanding the emotional challenges endured by everyone -- the fans, the band, our road crew and business team -- has at many times seemed like a bad dream in which one wakes up only to find that they are still in the nightmare. Unfortunately, this time it has been played out for over a decade in real life.

The true, ongoing, behind-the-scenes triumphs and casualties are much more complicated than any negative speculation that the media or otherwise has managed to hit upon. For much of the time, various legal issues have arisen, demanding that the best way to deal with these things publicly, quite frankly, was to keep our mouths shut in an attempt to ensure the best outcome-- especially one that wouldn’t jeopardize the band or the album. It’s easy for people to point out how others have handled similar situations or how they would have dealt with these issues themselves if they encountered them in their own lives. But again, without full knowledge of the various dynamics and circumstances involved, these types of comments or commentary are just uninformed, disassociated, generally useless -- and often hindering --speculation.

When I agreed to do our recent North American tour, I did it with the understanding that my manager, Merck Mercuriadis, and I were in full agreement regarding our strategy and touring plans and, most important, that any and all things needed to release the album by Dec. 26 at the latest were in place. Unfortunately, it turned out that this was not the case, and I regret to say that the album will not be released by the end of the year. Although many things went extremely well and were very exciting, there were, in our opinion, unnecessary and avoidable complications on our tour having to do with the tour routing, scheduling and album and video plans that wreaked havoc on all involved. This was compounded by an overall sense of a lack of respect by management for the band and crew and each individual's particular expertise that has resulted, unfortunately, in the end of both Guns’ and my managerial involvement with Merck Mercuriadis.

In regard to a release date for the album itself, certain minor - aand I do mean minor -- additions, as well as contract negotiations, need to be completed. Barring any unforeseen complications, these things have now been adequately scheduled. The band and I, along with our record company, feel that this record deserves the proper setup and promotion, not the “13 Tuesdays left” and “It may just appear in your record store” approach offered by management. We believe this strategy may have been used as a tool by management to sell this latest tour to the various promoters, and if this was the case, this was obviously unfair to them. The stress of dealing with this situation has been considerable for everyone, including the band, but more important, in our opinion, it was something utterly insane to do to our fans. You have our apologies, and please know we have been laboring over this with management for the entire North American tour.

It takes approximately eight weeks for an album to hit the shelves once it has been turned in to the record company. For whatever reasons, it appears that it may have been mistakenly inferred by management that this time period could be condensed to three weeks. With that being said, this is not a promise, a lie or a guarantee, but we do wish to announce a tentative release date of March 6. This is the first time we have done this publicly for this album. Others have made up all the other dates for their own reasons. We would like to assure the fans that everything in our power will be done to meet this date. Once it is finalized and official, you will be notified. If we are delayed for unseen reasons, you also will be notified as soon as possible in regard to a new date, and the album will be released as shortly thereafter as is possible. We thank you for your patience.

In the end, it’s just an album, but it’s one that I, the band, our record company and all involved believe and feel is a true Guns N’ Roses album. Ultimately the public will decide, and regardless of the outcome, our hearts, lives and our passion has been put into this project every step of the way. If for no other reason, we feel those elements alone merit your consideration. We do hope you can hold on just a bit longer, and if not, please take a break and we’ll be more than glad -- if you so choose -- to see you again later.

Once again, we offer our sincere apologies and our deepest thanks. Guns N’ Roses also would like to thank all the fans who attended the 70 concerts in 21 countries for their support in 2006. All the best to each and every one of you over this holiday season, thank you and God bless.

    Sincerely,

    Axl Rose

This was compounded by an overall sense of a lack of respect by management for the band and crew and each individual's particular expertise that has resulted, unfortunately, in the end of both Guns’ and my managerial involvement with Merck Mercuriadis.

so Merck is out, and after quiting Sanctuary. Oh, too bad for him, not i car too much :D

  10. The other day I downloaded the album ‘Twelve Stops Home’ by ‘The Feeling’ (i had been recommended the album by a friend). The album is ok, not heavy rock or anything like that, so I took it for what it was. There’s a track on there called ‘Fill My Little World’ and I can’t quite put my finger on it, but the track reminds me of Guns n’Roses ‘Catcher in the Rye’. I’m not sure if it is simply down to the pace of the song, piano sounds, drum beats of tone in the singers voice.

    Compare:

‘Twelve Stops Home’ 02:09 (onwards) into the track

    with

‘Catcher in the Rye’ 02:16 (onwards) into the track

..both tracks feel me with the same feelings :)

  11. whos with me?

i'll be downloading it 1st anyway, just to make sure the album sounds ok. If it only contains afew good tracks then i won't be buying the goods. Simple really. I do this with most bands. In most cases i download high quality mp3's, but we all know that CD quality is higher :)

  12. I don't remember excactly when the title got changed from "2000 intensions" to "Chinese Democrasy"

    I would guess around 99

Rumour has it the album was finished back then. Since then Axl's been on a tweaking mission, taking what h had and making it better. No doubt during the making it better phase, new material (tracks) came into being. Maybe if the original mix had been released it would have bombed (Moby said it was finished, so maybe it was simply too industrial and too risky to release to a Gn'R audience). Either way you look at it, Gn'R just does not sound anything close to the original (and best) Gn'R line up.

  13. Sorry about stating 'another' CD coming soon thread, but this one is different to all the rest. This one is the one that speaks about the 1st possible time CD can appear during 2006

Next week sees the arrival of the Tuesday of all Tuesdays and should with any luck see the arrival of CD.

While writting that not one bit of me feels that CD will be appearing anytime soon :(

  14. he was in a band SWEET 75 on that album he plays almost everything and unlike the shitty foo fighters, sweet 75 are completely different from nirvana

I liked the 1st Foo Fighters album (the one with the space gun on the cover) after that the Foo Fighters pretty much went down hill from there on in.

I picked up Sweet 75's 1st (and possibly last) album for next to nothing (i guess it didn't do well). The album is nothing compare to what Nirvana knocking out, although the album is by no means bad, it simply lacks hits songs (which i guess can be viewed as not good thing).

  15. If nothing else does come of this tour, I think the thing that takes the luster off it the most in the eyes of many is that it is pretty clear these tours have been nothing more than a cash grab. They have known for a while now the album is not coming out, and I think it is kind of shady they didn't tell us when they knew to preserve ticket sales and avoid getting beat up in the media. I am sure many others like me bought tickets for the shows on the assumption the album would possibly be out by our shows given they made it clear it was coming this year. To have things end up the way they have with them taking advantage of people's optimism to line their pockets kind of leaves a sour taste in ones mouth.

    here's a thought:

Axl failed to pay up for a painting a little white ago. Maybe Axl is cash strapped and a tour was needed to keep paying the bills.

  16. In all fairness i don't know either, but from what i have seen of the both of them, Duff appears to be the better person. and why do i think this you're thinking? well, over the past week Tommy has been coming out with some stuff (over guitar throwing and are you with us or against us) that has made he appear like a cock.

Duff by a mile. There's something about Tommy I don't like. Maybe it's the hissyfit he threw at Donington as if he was the big star. Which he's not.

Duff's so much cooler, although perhaps not a better player

oh yeah and that too. Using your own mic is ok by taking the mic from Axl looked wrong at the time .

Duff is/was an incredibly unintelligent person, which explains a lot of that. Didn't he drop out of high school? I love him, but he's pretty dumb. You can tell that from most interviews he gave.

He did go back to college and complete a finance degree after GnR. Most of those interviews were done when he was blind drunk. They were mostly hilarious, too.

Very true. Who can forget that interview on the Tokyo DVD?

"I know what Slash's thinking... In his head, you know..."

    "I'm put in a conductor-type position"

Unintelligent. Hmmm, not sure about that. When he went back to school did he pass? i think he was wasted alot of the time, being wasted doesn't automatically make someone thick. Besides, wasn't most of the band wasted back then, Slash sounded pretty thick at times to with his wasted slur speech from time to time :)
