Wait, so he really just gave Slash an empty guitar case with a wooden snake in it? That's kinda strange lol. How do you know?

It was in a different article about the wedding years ago.  I think Axl thinks it's hilarious to fake Slash out with fake guitar gifts.

Yeah. I mean I'm not against people writing and reading fan fiction, not at all, but I think sending it to the people you write about crosses the line into serious creepiness and it's cringey, yes.

Well they all have a tendency not to show up at each other's weddings, so even if he had invited them, they probably wouldn't have come :max:

Says our nr. 1 lurker here :P

But he doesn't know what our pretty faces actually look like, so when he sees us, he won't know that we're the bitches from the Women's Thread

Yes, I meant deviantart, sorry. The place where all that fan art that was recently posted here came from. There's also some pretty badly written fan fiction on there. And no it was not your granny  Although I can't say that for sure, but I guess it was just a random deviantart user, most likely a teenage girl.

Anyway, speaking of Renee and weddings, I just remembered another gift Axl gave to Slash @SerenityScorp @Andy14

Apparently Axl gave Slash this snake as a wedding gift. Andy, you were right about Axl giving useless random crap as presents. Because a fake snake? As a wedding gift?! Yep, totally useless :P

Also mentioned here in this article:

Also, while looking for that fake snake pic, I came across some more pictures of Renee and Slash, and I'm sorry, but... :rofl-lol::facepalm:

It's kinda like looking at Slash with a female Axl. That long red hair, the pale skin, the cheekbones when smiling, some of the fashion choices... I can't unsee it.

(I think we briefly talked about this before even in this thread, right @nonok?

    Coincidence? I think not :awesomeface::awesomeface::awesomeface:

(And yes, I just turned an ex-wife post into a Slaxl post. Go, me! :P)

About the wooden snake gift; Axl put that in a guitar case so that makes me think he might have given the candy as well.

I haven't heard any of their songs nor I know much about them, Axl did want Dave Navarro in place of Izzy during the illusions tour, but he declined which is weird, like GNR is such a big band compared to them and Carmen Electrca is a BIG GNR fan and she dates or used to date Dave Navarro.

Other than this I don't know anything about them.

Exactly. Lots of younger people don't know who they are. I can't remember the last time I heard a music publication mention them or a young band refer to them.

  4. So what are the chances of Erin showing up at the Atlanta concert?  It wouldn't be unusual for her to go and see Meeghan and Slash.   But is Axl ok with her now or not?  She seems to choose to be positive about him now.  He's made a lot of strides, but I don't know about that.

I forgot the name of the author of that unreleased book, I did try to contact her on FB, but got no reply

The book was ready, everything was final, but god knows what happened, after that she left her job and moved to Canada.

She was really excited about it, but maybe Axl's lawyers threatened to sue her or something.

Was that the Sorelle Saidman book?

Do you think it was all Axl's doing or just the security people?

Because I remember during the first Vegas residency few years back, there was this guy who caught Axl's mic after PC and it was confiscated by the security afterwards for some baffling reasons. He finally got it back weeks later after reaching out to forum members here who contacted Bumblefoot asking for help to resolve the issue. He even got the band members' signatures on it including Axl's. Shows that certain decisions are made not with Axl Rose's knowledge? IDK.

Probably more likely Team Brazil or Del were responsible.  They are all terrified that Axl is going to lose it again. lol

It does matter, of course it does. If Mick Jagger blubbered up and came out to sing for The Stones looking like a balloon with lips, then everyone would laugh their heads off.

Axl is currently in two of the biggest bands on the planet, playing to hundreds of thousands of people between them, he is all over the rock music media. In that case, I don't think it's unreasonable for his fans to want him to look the best he can. Casual fans will look on social media and see a fat ginger guy, sad but true. They need those casuals to turn up for these concerts. So, yes I think it matters.

I think that's a bit of an overstatement.  I don't think Axl is fat at all, neither is Slash by the way!  Heavier middles?  Sure.  That's not what I would refer to as fat.

I think the issue is that their classic, sex on a stick, skinny video images are forever burned in our minds and people wish they could stay that way forever.

It doesn't mean they are necessarily unhealthy.  They are giving everything to their performances.

As long as Axl is being considerate towards the fans (starting on time) and delivering in the shows, then who are we to demand that he lose weight?  He's in his fifties, he's got to enjoy life, there's no going back in time.

If Slither is played I am curious as to how Axl will sound on his.  I can easily imagine him doing something akin to CD where he uses the low voice for the verses and the high voice for the chorus and high notes

If the band ever does do Slither, I have to believe Duff will sing it. This is Axl we are talking about, he's never going to sing a Weiland song.  Unless he has a personality transplant or something.

Don't think it works that way with this tour.  G N' R are guaranteed a certain amount per show, by the promoter (presumably in the $3 mil range).  Then they get a % more after a certain amount of gross sales are reached.  So it's really up to the promoter to determine how much to charge for tickets in order for them to recoupe their costs, pay G N'R, etc and still make a profit.

I think you are right.  It's big business absolutely, but I'm sure it's decided by a team of people, not just the band sitting in a room, lol.

I don't really think Izzy puts in the work to be in a huge stadium band. Whereas Slash and Duff have put in the touring and stayed relevant to the GNR fanbase. Ironically Izzy's lack of interest in milking the feud means that his stock isn't as high for a reunion. Slash has had way more success than Izzy, arguably even more successful than Axl. Izzy didn't even try to market himself as Tom Petty 2 or whatever. He's just seen as eccentric, maybe a maverick talent.

I kind of agree with you here.  I think Axl has always admired and cared for Izzy, so whatever their problems right now it's unfortunate.

That being said, Duff and Slash are pros when it comes to working a stadium crowd.  Whereas with Izzy, it's really not his thing.  With Fortus, they have someone who looks like Izzy if you squint and he puts more energy into his performances than Izzy probably would.  Also, the three of them did a large chunk of the Illusion tour without Izzy, so there is already a history of the band being accepted without him.

If anything has surprised me this year, it's how Izzy has handled this.  I was really shocked when he started that twitter account and publicly reached out to the rolling stone writer.  I thought it was so out of character, it couldn't be him.  I even wondered if it was a girlfriend or an adult child of his that was behind it.  Also recording something with Sorum seems almost like a taunt or bid for attention.  I think it's safe to say Izzy is pissed that he is left out of this.

It's too bad, because I would have loved Izzy to be a part of it, but I also understand it's a very complicated situation.

Yeah I agree with you, I think exactly the same as you, he just dont care. But WHY ?!

I don't see how people can watch these videos and say he doesn't care.  He's obviously putting a lot of effort into his performance.  He seems very happy...... elated actually.

I'm sorry, but some of these criticisms are very silly.

Haha, I'm going to go there too..you know why? Because, and I am sorry, but these lyrics are terrible.  I'm going get a lot of hate for this, I know..cause it's Izzy. Now I haven't heard the song, but this is so simplistic, that it literally could be the theme song for Sesame Street or something..so therefore,  I HOPE it's alluding to GnR members! Axl has a white wall around his house right? Ok so he's a definite barrier to Izzy..and why bring the imagery of a dog up twice in the same song?? So therefore yes, Slash and Duff are the other barking egos..but why are they only surrounded by a chain link fence? Are they more open to him? yet still unable to fully reach him...hmm.. <_<

What I find funny, is I know it drove Axl crazy how simply Izzy did things.  And here the guy is...writing a song about walking down the fucking street.

Wow, haven't heard of them in like 12 years! Didn't know they were still playing.

Luckily they have nothing to do with the original 80'/90's screamo, so I would just call them simple and plain shit rock if i'd had to.

Yeah, they had a moment of popularity in the late nineties I think?  I can't believe they are still around either, what an odd choice.
